Ground football: Ronaldo thought I was going to assist him

Villa is only a year and a half older than Torres.

Villa has always played for Sporting Gijón, a team in the Spanish Second Division.

Torres was Atlético Madrid's crown prince during their time in the Segunda División, playing in the Segunda División early on.

In comparison, Torres started from a much higher level.

He was a player that Real Madrid wanted to sign.

However... so far, Torres has not achieved anything particularly outstanding.

Villa, who scored twenty goals in the Spanish Second Division last year, was hailed as a lone hero.

Torres was officially called up to the national team two months ago.

But at the same time, he also learned some news.

The national team is also considering Villa, who also plays for Manchester City.

The two of them... are rivals.

This applies to both clubs and national teams!

After receiving Fonte's feedback, Deng Kai nodded: "Your information is timely. In this situation, Torres must be given a fair chance."

"Otherwise, if he is not selected for the national team, he will complain that the club did not give him enough opportunities."

"Torres and Villa will start together in the next EFL Cup match!"

Fonte left satisfied.

Needless to say, this was a key tactic used by Fonte to "recruit" Torres.

He helped Torres solve his problem, how could Torres not be impressed?

Fonte's status as "locker room leader" was not established by Kung Pao Chicken.

Maxa: ? ? ?

Maxa: Isn't that so?

Fonte has solved problems for his players on numerous occasions.

Of course, Fonte also knew that this was an opportunity given to him by the Celtics.

The Celtics promoted him to be the locker room leader, so at certain times he has to step up and do things that offend people.

Only in this way can the Celtics remain untainted by karma and maintain their saintly dignity.

……

After training that afternoon, Fonte spoke with Torres.

The latter's emotions instantly became excited.

It's not just because they got the chance to play in the midweek EFL Cup.

Furthermore, Torres learned from Fonte that the team would make every effort to get him a place in the Spanish national team.

Fonte's exact words: "Don't worry about who's helping you or how they're helping you, there's no problem with you joining the Spanish national team, understand? I can't say more."

After saying that, he stared at the Deng Kai poster on the court corridor.

Torres immediately realized: "Cairney?"

Fonte: "Shh! I didn't say that, you just guessed. Just keep this to yourself, don't tell anyone else, otherwise if something goes wrong... I won't be able to explain myself to..."

Torres nodded repeatedly, inwardly shouting "Cairley is awesome!"

In reality, Deng Kai shouldn't have had to exert any effort in this matter.

Even if Villa is better than Torres, considering the current attacking line of the Spanish national team, Torres should still be selected.

Raul, Morientes, Luke.

Raul is technically versatile and can play from striker to attacking midfielder, but he lacks physicality and impact.

Morientes is a pivotal center forward with a strong tactical role.

Spain currently lacks a speedy striker with impact.

Therefore, the players they have been considering recently are all of this type.

Deportivo La Coruña's Luque and Manchester City's Torres are among the best examples.

Luke's league performance was better.

Torres has an advantage in the influencer team, with high viewership and, more importantly, a more prestigious background. He led the youth team to numerous honors, making him more competitive than Luke.

If there were more highlights, it would be even more solid.

It's best to become famous early; Villa suffered from being a late bloomer.

……

On October 28th, in the third round of the EFL Cup, Manchester City will face Nottingham Forest.

The match was played at Intihad Stadium.

Manchester City has the home advantage, and Nottingham Forest gets a share of the ticket revenue, so everyone is happy.

Nottingham Forest is a very famous team. Although it may seem out of place now, it was the legendary team that created the Nottingham Forest miracle back then.

In the 1976-1977 season, they were promoted to the English top flight.

In the 1977-1978 season, they became a double champion in the league and the League Cup as a newly promoted team, creating a miracle for a newly promoted team.

In the 1978-1979 season, they won the European Cup.

They won the European Cup in 1979-1980.

To this day, Nottingham Forest still holds the record for the most unbeaten run in the English top flight.

Forty-two games unbeaten!

This gave the media a point to focus their news efforts on.

Sky Sports: "Undefeated ed vs. Undefeated ing! This is a war of undefeated!"

Manchester Evening News: "Inttihad Stadium transforms into hellish ground once again; can the terrifying Blue Moon thrash Nottingham Forest?"

The Times: "Nottingham Forest fielded their strongest lineup, while Manchester City fielded an all-reserve squad; the outcome of the match remains uncertain!"

The Echo: "Last year, Manchester City abandoned the league to focus on the League Cup and FA Cup. This year, they prioritize the league and European competitions, making it inevitable that they will abandon the League Cup."

During the pre-match press conference, the media interviewed Deng Kai.

Reporter: "Deng Kai, why are you still starting in this game? We noticed that you are the only starter in this lineup."

Deng Kai: "Nottingham Forest is a great team, and they deserve respect. That's why I'm still in the starting lineup."

The reporters in the audience applauded.

Kai Shao is kind-hearted.

The only one with a look of utter disrespect was Nottingham Forest's manager: "How dare you disrespect us?"

Deng Kai added: "Furthermore, Manchester City has many excellent players. The starting players are certainly excellent, but the substitutes and rotation players are not necessarily inferior."

"We need to tailor our lineup and tactics based on the characteristics of the opposing players."

"We may be the best coaching team in the world. Maxija, Guardiola, Deschamps, Schmeichel, they often spend six months researching a perfect time-out plan."

A Tsinghua professor praised this.

Reporter: "Adriano, who is in great form, didn't play in this match. Was Manchester City worried about him getting injured, which is why they chose the Torres-Villa attacking duo?"

Deng Kai nodded: "That's one aspect. Ade is one of our strongest weapons; he's a great threat, but also very costly."

"We've developed a strict physical conditioning plan for him; we want to ensure Ronaldo is healthy during the final stretch of the season!"

"Furthermore, enabling Villa and Torres to work together more is also a contribution we make to the Spanish national team."

"They are both excellent strikers. If they can develop chemistry, the Spanish national team will have more options in attack."

In response, the Spanish national team said: "He really... I'm devastated!"

Manchester City's starting lineup for this match is:

Torres, Villa

Deng Kai, Fabregas, David Silva

马斯切拉诺

Ashley Young, Thiago Silva, Kompany, Sun Jihai

Noir

It's truly a purely substitute lineup.

I like playing football on the ground: Ronaldo thought I was going to assist him.
