Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong

Chapter 155 The Arrival of the Missionaries

When Emma and Ella came looking for her.

Hena and Lilith have already left.

The corridor was empty, and the door to the examination room was ajar.

Emma walked ahead and pushed open the door.

Wayne stood beside the examination bed, holding a damp cloth and wiping the edge of the bed. The sheets had been changed; they were new, white, and neatly folded. The floor was a little damp, clearly having just been washed.

"Owner!"

"Um."

"Why are you cleaning again?"

"This examination room is a bit too damp." Wayne put the rag into the bucket and wrung it out. "A simple cleaning is always good."

Emma tilted her head and glanced around the room.

"Dampness? Where is it damp?"

She walked to the window and touched the windowsill. Dry. Then she squatted down and touched the base of the wall. Also dry.

"It's not wet."

There are places you can't see.

Emma looked up at Wayne.

"oh."

She didn't ask any further questions.

Ella stood at the door, not coming in.

She glanced at Wayne first, then her gaze shifted to the wall in front of the table, where there were scattered watermarks, probably from when Wayne had just cleaned.

Her ears turned slightly red, and she looked away.

"Owner."

"Um."

"Dinner's ready."

"OK."

Ella's panel appeared.

[Ella lost in thought]

[Status: She recently bought a lot of sketchbooks. She's hiding them under her and Emma's bed, covered with old clothes. Luckily, Emma never looks through them, otherwise she wouldn't know how to explain it.]

[Note: She has always had a vivid imagination. Based on the content of the sketchbook, she fully utilizes her imagination. The images are fantastical and rich in detail. The pristine white walls hint at the direction of each story. In fact, what she imagines based on the sketchbook is quite similar to reality. In some parts, it's even less exciting than reality.]

[Note 2: She wasn't jealous. Because she knew that Wayne had never truly possessed her and Emma. And those who came and went were just passersby. The two of them were Wayne's closest people. This was a fact that no one could replace. She wasn't particularly generous, but she could distinguish between what was temporary and what was permanent.]

Wayne turned his gaze away from the panel.

He put down the rag, washed his hands with water magic, walked over to Ella, and patted her head.

"Ella, why is your face so red?"

No, no.

Wayne pulled Emma to his side as well.

"Let's go eat together."

Emma's two little tiger teeth were showing.

"good!"

The three people came out of the examination room and walked towards the kitchen.

Vera had already served the food.

A pot of stewed beef, a plate of toasted bread, a bowl of vegetable soup, and a dish of pickled radishes. The beef was stewed until tender, falling apart at the touch of chopsticks, and the broth was thick and glistening with oil.

Vera carried a bowl of soup over from the stove, placed it on the table, and wiped her hands with her apron.

"Sir, the beef has been stewed for a long time today. Please taste it and see if it's tender."

Wayne tasted a piece and praised it.

"good!"

Ella picked up a piece of beef and put it in her bowl.

"Master, who were those two women who came today?"

"A follower of the goddess."

Ella nodded and didn't ask any more questions.

Emma sat opposite her, a piece of beef in her mouth, her cheeks bulging. She swallowed the beef, put down her chopsticks, and counted on her fingers.

"Master, something's not right."

"What's wrong?"

"I distinctly remember only one woman coming in carrying a cat." Emma's eyebrows furrowed. "But just now, I clearly saw two people walk out of the hallway. One in a purple dress, the other in a black dress."

She paused, then counted on her fingers.

"One person came in carrying a cat, and two people left empty-handed. Where did the extra person come from?"

Wayne picked up a piece of beef and put it in his mouth.

I chewed it twice and swallowed it.

You've misjudged.

"I didn't see wrong." Emma's tone was very serious. "I have very good eyesight. Last time on the street, I saw the mayor's zipper was undone from half a block away."

Ella's ears turned red.

Wayne coughed.

"That's a problem with the lighting. The hallway is dark; you're seeing things."

Emma tilted her head and thought for a moment.

"Yeah?"

"Yes."

"But……"

"No buts."

"oh!"

Emma lowered her head and continued eating.

A figure was standing outside the kitchen door.

Wayne put down his chopsticks and turned his head slightly towards the door.

"Come in and have some dinner with us!"

The figure at the door paused for a moment.

Mimi peeked half her body out from behind the door frame.

"I?"

"Um."

Vera walked over from the stove, wiped the rim of the bowl on her apron, and then took a spoon and placed it on the bowl.

"Come quickly, Miss Mimi! Our bishop doesn't have that many rules."

Emma sat opposite, tilting her head to look at Mimi.

"Sister, are you a bounty hunter?"

Mimi nodded.

Emma looked her up and down.

"You're quite good-looking."

Mimi was stunned for a moment.

"Thanks."

Emma then looked at Wayne.

"Master, is she a bad person?"

Wayne glanced at Mimi and nodded.

"I guess so."

Emma continued.

"Are those two in the storage room also like that?"

"Yes, that's true."

Emma's eyes shone.

"Master, shall we send them to the gallows?"

Mimi's soup bowl wobbled, and a few drops of soup spilled out.

Little sister, are you a devil?

Ai stretched out her hand and tugged at Emma's sleeve.

"Stop fooling around."

"I'm not making a fuss," Emma said seriously. "If a bad person arrests their master, isn't it only right that we send the bad person to the gallows?"

Wayne picked up some pickled radish with his chopsticks and put it into Emma's bowl.

"It's not that bad, they can just keep them locked up."

Emma glanced down at the pickled radish in the bowl, picked it up, took a bite, and chewed it with a crunching sound.

"That's so boring."

The panel then appeared.

This morning, while you were busy, Emma went to see Babacar and Jenny. When she learned from them that they had come to capture you, she planned to burn them alive. Ella stopped her. You are her Achilles' heel.

[Note: She was serious when she said it jokingly.]

[Also: Missionaries from St. Hilde are en route to Frosttown. They have learned of a witch organization hiding there. Their purpose is both to spread their teachings and to probe the area.]

[Also: A caravan was attacked by bandits. Your old friend was seriously injured, but he managed to save his master's life.]

Missionaries. Caravans. Old friends.

Wayne went through everyone he knew in his mind.

Charman is in Audrian, still recovering from his illness, so he can't be running caravans. Wilford is in Frosttown; the demonic tide has just ended, and he's busy repairing the city walls, so he doesn't have time to go out and do business. Diaz is also in Frosttown and hasn't gone out at all.

After arranging them back and forth, there are only a few left.

Who could this old friend be?

Forget it.

What's meant to come will come.

The arrival of St. Hilde, however, presents a somewhat troublesome situation. Every action St. Hilde takes often results in friction and conflict.

It looks like Frost Town is about to get lively.
