Around noon.

The church doors were pushed open.

It was old Hunter who brought his granddaughter Wendy.

His brows furrowed.

"Is Bishop Wayne here?"

Thomason poked his head out from the gatehouse.

"Yes, yes. Please wait a moment while I go and inform them."

"No need to inform him, I'll go find him myself."

Old Hunter walked inside, leaning on his cane.

Wendy followed behind him.

She had explained to old Hunter many times that there was nothing wrong with her health, she just hadn't been "resting" well lately. Old Hunter wouldn't listen and insisted on bringing her to see Wayne.

Old Hunter, leaning on his cane, walked faster than the young man.

Wendy tried to tug at his sleeve from behind, but couldn't.

"Grandpa, I'm really alright..."

"Nothing's wrong? You have such dark circles under your eyes and you call that nothing's wrong?"

"That's because you didn't sleep well..."

"Didn't sleep well? You slept perfectly well at home, but couldn't sleep well up in the mountains? Is there something on the mountain that's keeping you awake?"

Wendy opened her mouth, then closed it again.

She couldn't explain it.

The back door was half open.

When Old Hunter pushed open the door, Wayne was lying on a wicker chair, sunbathing. The chair was something Vera had found in the storeroom; it was old, and the bamboo strips were a bit loose, creaking whenever someone sat on it.

Wayne heard the door open and opened his eyes.

"Uncle Hunter?"

"Your Majesty Bishop!"

Old Hunter slammed his cane on the ground, took three steps at a time, and walked up to Wayne, reaching out to shake his hand.

Wayne stood up from the wicker chair and helped him up.

"What brings you here?"

"I've come to see you for a medical consultation."

Wayne glanced at Wendy, who was standing behind old Hunter.

Wendy's face turned even redder.

She shifted her gaze to the flowerbed in the corner of the yard, pretending to look at the unopened flower buds.

Old Hunter didn't notice his granddaughter's expression.

He grasped Wayne's hand, speaking rapidly: "Your Grace, could you please take a look at Wendy? I don't know what's wrong with her lately; she looks so haggard every day. Her eyes are sunken, her chin is pointed, and her complexion is off. I asked her what was wrong, and she said nothing. I asked her if those women on the mountain were bullying her, and she said no. I asked her if she wasn't eating or sleeping well, and she said she was fine."

Old Hunter paused for a moment and took a breath.

"If everything's fine, why have you lost weight? I may be old, but I'm not blind!"

[Old Hunter - Current Status]

[Status: Worried, confused, anxious. He thought his granddaughter had been bullied by those women on the mountain. He had seen those women; they didn't seem like bad people, but he knew that bad people in this world don't wear their true colors on their sleeves. He wasn't sure who to trust, so he came to you.]

[Note: He didn't know that the main reason his granddaughter looked so haggard was that she was dehydrated from giving thanks to the goddess almost every day.]

[Note 2: He was unaware that his granddaughter was no longer just an ordinary girl. She had grown up and had her own privacy. Moreover, she was watching your live stream every day using her abilities. Over time, it's normal for her to look a little haggard.]

Wayne helped old Hunter to a bench in the corridor and then turned to Wendy.

"Stretch out your hand."

Wendy reached out her hand.

Wayne placed two fingers on her wrist and pretended to take her pulse for a while. The panel spun around in front of him, but didn't provide any new information; he knew Wendy's condition better than anyone else.

Wayne released his grip.

"It's nothing serious."

Old Hunter stood up from the bench, took two steps forward with his cane, and said, "No problem? Then why is she so thin?"

"I haven't been getting enough rest lately."

"Rest?" Old Hunter's brows furrowed even more. "Doesn't she have nothing to do all day on the mountain? How come she's not getting enough rest?"

Wayne glanced at Wendy.

Wendy looked away.

Wayne remained unfazed.

"The environment on the mountain is damp, and there are many mosquitoes. It's normal not to sleep well. You'll get used to it in a few days."

Old Heng nodded.

"That's true. It's definitely damp up there. Last time I went to pick up Wendy, it was very humid."

After Old Hunter's thoughtless remarks, Wendy's face seemed to turn even redder.

Wayne took out several bottles of potions from the medicine cabinet.

The pale blue liquid sloshed around in the glass bottle.

"One bottle of these potions per day, after meals."

Old Hunter took it and looked down at it.

"What kind of medicine is this?"

"For hydration."

"Hydrate?"

"Yes. Wendy's been dehydrated lately and needs more fluids." Wayne paused, "Whether it's work or life, there needs to be a balance. Don't overwork yourself, and don't overdo it..."

Wendy blushed.

"Mr. Wayne, I've got it."

Old Hunter put the potion into his bag.

"Okay. We'll take the medicine and head back."

"grandfather……"

Wendy stood still.

Old Hunter turned his head.

"What's wrong?"

Wendy's gaze swept over Wayne.

Wayne looked at her.

"Is there anything else?"

Wendy took a deep breath.

"Mr. Wayne, is there no water magic healing today?"

Wayne looked at her.

"Potions are also made with water magic, and have the same effect."

Wendy's lips moved as if she wanted to say something, but she swallowed her words back. She lowered her head.

"oh."

Old Hunter stood at the door, looking at his granddaughter's expression, feeling that something was off, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

He shook his head, preparing to take his granddaughter back.

"Let's go, I'll stew a chicken for you to help you recover."

Old Hunter walked to the door and suddenly stopped.

He slapped his forehead.

"Right, right, I haven't paid the consultation fee yet. I'm getting senile."

He tucked his cane under his arm and reached into his robes. After rummaging around for a while, he pulled out a small cloth bag, its opening tightly tied. He untied the knot, poured out a few copper coins, counted them, poured out a few more, and counted them again.

Wendy stepped forward and held his hand.

"Grandpa, let me give it to you."

Old Hunter looked up at Wendy.

"Where did you get the money?"

"I earned it."

Old Hunter frowned slightly.

"You're up in the mountains every day, where do you earn your money?"

"Watching things for people."

"What are you looking at?"

"It's just... I saw some things." Wendy's voice trailed off. "Grandpa, don't ask anymore. Anyway, it's legitimate money."

She pulled a small cloth bag from her sleeve. The bag was light blue and embroidered with a few small flowers, and it looked like it was sewn by a young woman herself. She took out a gold coin from it, held it in her hand, glanced at it twice, and then handed it to Wayne.

"Mr. Wayne, here is the consultation fee."

Wayne accepted the gold coins.

May the goddess bless you.

The panel popped up.

Wendy's Current Status

[Status: Nervous, guilty, and a little expectant. Yesterday, she received a portion of her reward from Ace—thirty gold coins. This was the first money she had ever received in her life. Originally, it was fifty gold coins; she gave ten to Dora and ten to the Order.]

[Note: She heard about the situation from Dora and also foresaw scenes involving Dora and Emily through her abilities. She wondered if she could take the initiative. She had seen many of these scenes and knew what "healing" was all about. She felt she was ready. Or rather, she felt that if she continued preparing, she might miss her chance.]

[Note 2: She wants to give you more money. Not because you need it, but because she thinks that if she gives you more, you'll be more receptive. It's like a man going to a brothel; the more money he pays, the better the service. She knows you're not from that brothel. But she has no other choice. She doesn't know how to get closer to you.]

[Additionally: She was afraid of rejection.]

Old Hunter took two steps toward the door, leaning on his cane, and then turned around.

"Wendy? Let's go."

"They're here."

Wendy's voice was muffled. She looked up and glanced at Wayne.

"Mr. Wayne."

"Um."

"I...I'm leaving now."

"it is good."
