Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong

Chapter 166 Lillian's Invitation

Lillian seemed to remember something.

She pulled a letter from her sleeve.

"Oh, right, Dora asked me to bring this to you."

Wayne took the letter and opened it.

The letter paper was pale yellow, with a few lines of writing on it, the handwriting delicate and graceful, in Dora's handwriting.

The message is simple: The Witch Order has decided to relocate entirely to Antwerp, the capital of the Kingdom of Wiggins, in five months. At that time, the Order's stronghold in Frosttown will be permanently closed. Bishop Wayne is requested to accompany them. If you can accompany them, please reply to inform us; if not, please also reply, as the Order has other arrangements.

Wayne folded the letter and put it in his sleeve.

"The order is moving to Antwerp?"

"Yes." Lillian nodded. "You know about the Millennium Purple Sun, right?"

"Know."

"Antwerp has the largest barrier in the Kingdom of Wiggins. During the Millennium Purple Sun, the Papacy will join forces with the King to provide protection. Only there is safety. Frosttown is too close to the Abyss. No one can say for sure what will happen to it then."

She paused.

"Moreover, the Order's headquarters in the Kingdom of Wiggins is already in Antwerp. The stronghold in Frosttown is just a branch, with few people, making it easy to move."

Wayne didn't say anything.

Lillian looked at him.

"You'll come with us, right?"

"Maybe!"

Lillian lay on the table, her chin resting on her arm, glancing sideways at Wayne.

"Perhaps? Is there something wrong, sir?"

Wayne tucked the letter into his sleeve.

"There's no major problem. The main thing is to figure out what kind of identity we should use to go back."

Lillian blinked twice.

"identity?"

"Hmm. A bishop? A priest? Or something else?"

Lillian didn't understand, but she didn't ask. In her mind, Wayne never spoke without reason. She didn't understand now because it wasn't time for her to understand yet.

Lillian leaned on the table and took a sip of water.

Thinking of the cult's predicament, she couldn't help but complain.

"If one day, the Witch Cult could gain the king's approval like the Necromancers, that would be wonderful."

"What a pity..."

Her finger traced circles on the table.

"What's a pity?"

"Unfortunately, the king is a fool and has no interest in women."

The panel popped up in front of Wayne.

King Wiggins - Current Status

[Current situation: The nudity decree has been issued, and the "ageless" magic is being unleashed throughout the palace. The king himself attends court daily wearing only a loincloth, as do his ministers. The scene during court assemblies is spectacular, but no one dares to laugh.]

[Regarding his aversion to women: It's not that he doesn't want to, but that he doesn't understand. King Antep III possesses SSS-level magical talent, but his intellectual development is stuck at the level of a five-year-old. His understanding of the concept of "sleeping with women" is roughly equivalent to his understanding of calculus. He's not interested. His world consists of only three things: eating sweets, playing magic, and sleeping.]

[Note: But the foolish king had one redeeming quality: he only listened to the goddess and his mother. He didn't "revere" the goddess; he "only listened" to her. He believed whatever the papacy said. Therefore, the church in the Kingdom of Wiggins wielded immense power, though it was hampered by the queen.]

[Note 2: The foolish king felt neither liking nor disliking the witch. He had no idea what a witch was. In his mind, there were only "good people" and "bad people." And who was good and who was bad was determined by the Pope. Of course, there was also his own mother. Therefore, the key to the witch's order's foothold in Wiggins wasn't the king, but the Pope.]

[Note: The Pope is sixty-seven years old this year, in good health and full of energy. He is far more interested in young men than in witches.]

Wayne looked at Lillian with a puzzled expression.

"If you're going to the capital, have you resolved your previous problem?"

Lillian paused for a moment.

"You mean... I killed the count's son before?"

Wayne nodded.

Lillian looked relaxed.

"That's not a big deal. We can just hide our identities. Besides, the Witch Cult has been operating in Wiggins for decades, they have their own ways of doing things."

Wayne didn't ask any more questions.

Lillian suddenly sat up straight, her expression changing from languid to serious, as if she had remembered something important.

"By the way, Mr. Wayne, do you have a moment?"

"What is it?"

"I would like to ask you to come with me on a mission."

"Task?"

"Hmm. After advancing to the third tier of witch, the Order will assign a task best suited to the newly promoted witch to consolidate her strength. There are no restrictions on teammates." She paused for a moment, "Originally, I invited Tilulu, but for some reason, she wasn't feeling well today. And for some reason, she just had to mess up at the most crucial moment."

Wayne took a sip of water, feeling guilty.

"What mission?"

Lillian took a piece of parchment from her sleeve, unfolded it, and laid it on the table. The parchment was small, about the width of a palm and a foot long. Several lines of writing were drawn on it with charcoal, the handwriting messy but legible.

"Mosa Village Mine, Tier 3 Rock Demon. According to intelligence, this Rock Demon has been entrenched in this area for several months. Kill it."

After Lillian finished reading, she turned the parchment over.

A simple map was drawn on the back.

Lillian continued.

"Starting from Frost Town, head north for about ten miles, enter the hilly area, then head northeast for two miles. There's a village there. The Rock Demon is there."

Wayne glanced at the map, then looked at Lillian.

"Aren't there other people in the cult? Why are they looking for me?"

Lillian's answer was perfectly justified.

"Because you are very strong."

"And it's free."

Wayne paused for a moment, his hand holding the water glass still.

"free?"

"Yes. For missions within the Order, you have to pay for teammates. The price is based on their strength and the difficulty of the mission. A Tier 3 teammate starts at five gold coins, and Tier 4 is even more expensive, at least ten gold coins. After advancing to Tier 3, I don't have much savings, so I can't afford it." She paused, then looked up at Wayne. "But you're different. You never charge for healing the Order, and you never charge for helping witches improve their strength. I think... you probably won't charge this time either, right?"

Wayne put down the water glass.

"You're right, I don't lack money."

Lillian's eyes curved into crescent moons.

"I knew it."

"But there is one condition."

Lillian's smile froze for a moment.

"What are the conditions?"

"After the mission is completed, you'll have to help me test the drug."

"Drug testing?"

Lillian was puzzled.

"Is it dangerous?"

"It's not dangerous."

Wayne pulled a small porcelain bottle from his sleeve. The bottle was brown, about the size of a thumb, and sealed tightly with wax. He placed the bottle on the table and pushed it in front of Lillian.

"This is a new batch of potions I recently made. As for the effects... I haven't tried them yet. You can give them a try for me."

Lillian picked up the porcelain bottle and examined it from all angles.

"What kind of medicine is this?"

"For hydration."

"Hydrate?"

"Simply put, it's about replenishing energy."

Lillian immediately put on an air of knowing everything.

"Oh, I see, it's to replenish energy, right!"

Wayne smiled.

This interpretation doesn't seem wrong.

"Yes," Wayne replied.
