Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong
Chapter 211 Mimi's Bravery
Mimi's face turned even redder.
"Sir...you must be joking."
Wayne smiled too.
The two walked quietly, the streetlights shining down from above, casting long shadows of each other.
Mimi's voice was muffled.
"grown ups."
"Um."
"If... I mean if... if I weren't a bounty hunter, if I were just an ordinary person you met on the street, would you still let me stay in the church?"
Wayne didn't stop.
"meeting."
Why?
"Because you work hard." Wayne's tone was very calm, as if he were talking about a trivial matter. "Vera can't handle it all by herself, and the church needs help."
Mimi's lips curved slightly, then she suppressed her smile.
"Just because of that?"
"Otherwise what?"
The panel then appeared.
[Mimi - Current Status]
[Status: She does want to sleep with you, but in a different sense. Right now, she's internally encouraging herself: it wouldn't be bad to sleep with a handsome priest. It's not a loss anyway; sleeping with him is a win. If she doesn't… she doesn't lose anything. She's leaving tomorrow anyway, and she might never see him again. A little indulgence before parting shouldn't be too much, right?]
[Note: After the matter of St. Hilde was resolved, she knew it was time for her to leave with Babacar and Jenny. Deep down, she didn't want to leave, but she had no choice. Staying peacefully by someone's side was never the life she wanted. She was used to wandering, used to being homeless, used to not knowing where she would be tomorrow. Setting her down was harder than assassinating a fourth-tier warrior.]
[Note 2: Although you and she don't have many fond memories, she cherishes and enjoys the days she spends with you. Those days at the church were the most peaceful days of her life. She didn't have to worry about being stabbed in the back, didn't have to wake up in the middle of the night to check the doors and windows, and didn't have to test food for poison before eating. Every morning when she woke up, she knew what she was supposed to do that day, where she was, and who was around her. She had never felt this way before. She even began to understand why some people want to settle down. Not because stability is so great, but because wandering is too tiring.]
[Note: However, she still decided to pack her bags after returning to her room tonight. Tomorrow morning, after Babacar and Jenny have sobered up, she will leave with them. Before leaving, she will wash and fold the maid's uniform and place it on the bed in her room. Vera lent it to her, and she has to return it.]
The two walked for a while longer.
The church spire was already peeking out from behind the treetops.
Mimi suddenly stopped.
"Sir, please wait five minutes."
Wayne turned his head to look at her.
"What's wrong?"
"I...I have something to do, I'll be back soon."
Her tone was deliberately relaxed, but the tips of her ears were red. Wayne glanced at her but didn't ask.
"it is good."
Mimi, an assassin, quickly disappeared.
Her shadow stretched, shortened, and stretched again in the light of the streetlamp, before quickly disappearing into the shadows in the direction of the church.
Wayne stood there, leaning against the lamppost, his hands in the pockets of his robe.
A night breeze blew in from the alleyway, carrying the aroma of freshly baked bread; the bakery on the next street was still open.
Five minutes later, Mimi returned as expected.
She was panting and wiped the sweat from her forehead.
Mimi said to Wayne, "Mr. Wayne, I just went back to the church and saw that Emma and Ella are already asleep. I've already spoken to Miss Vera and told her that you're attending the celebration party today and won't be coming back."
Wayne asked with slight curiosity, "If you're not going back, where are you going?"
Mimi said, "You know, Babacar and Jenny are going back to the Northern Continent tomorrow. I've decided, I'm going back with them too. I have a younger brother there, I can't leave him behind."
Wayne expressed his understanding.
Wayne looked at Mimi's face and said:
"Miss Mimi, do you have any plans?"
Mimi poked her fingers, blushing, and said, "Um... um... Mr. Wayne, I know a hotel. Their hotel is special; every room has a cat, and I heard that the cat can dance. So..." Mimi's face turned even redder, but she still mustered up the courage to finish, "So I'd like to invite Mr. Wayne to come with me to see that magical cat."
Wayne looked at Mimi with an "I understand" look.
Mimi became even more shy and lowered her head.
Wayne said, "I'm curious too. What kind of cat is it? Let's go take a look."
Mimi suddenly raised her head, her eyes brightened for a moment, then quickly looked away, her voice muffled: "Mmm."
At the east end of town, there was a three-story building with a pale yellow lime plaster on the exterior walls. Two oil lamps hung under the porch, casting a warm yellow light on the steps.
Mimi stopped at the door, glanced at Wayne, her lips moved but she didn't say anything. She took a deep breath and pushed the door open.
Behind the counter sat a plump middle-aged woman, dozing off. Hearing the door open, she looked up, her gaze lingering on Wayne's face for a moment before shifting to Mimi's, a slow smile spreading across her lips.
"A hotel?"
Mimi's throat moved slightly: "Mmm."
"One room?"
Mimi blushed: "Two..."
Wayne's voice came from behind her: "One room."
The middle-aged woman's lips curled up even higher. She stood up from behind the counter, took a key from the wall, placed it on the counter, and pushed it forward: "Second floor, at the end of the corridor, the one on the left."
Wayne took the keys: "Thank you."
The two went up to the second floor and walked to the end of the corridor.
Mimi stopped at the door, looking a little nervous.
"Mr. Wayne."
"Um."
"You said you only want one... Won't that affect your reputation? After all, you are the bishop of Frosttown."
Wayne inserted the key into the lock and turned it.
"Don't worry, I just used a potion and water magic to change my scent. I'll appear as a different person to others."
Mimi stood at the door, her hand still on the door frame.
"Then...why don't I feel any change?"
Wayne looked up at her.
"Because I want you to see what I look like now."
Mimi's ears turned red.
Her mouth opened slightly, then closed again.
She went into the room and closed the door.
The room wasn't big, but it was decorated with care.
The walls were painted a warm yellow, and several landscape paintings depicting mountains and forests hung on the walls. The paintings weren't particularly skillful, but the color scheme was pleasing to the eye. The bed sheets were light pink, neatly folded, and a pink silk flower, matching the color scheme of the sheets, sat on the pillow.
The window faces south, and the curtains are half-drawn, revealing the outline of the southern part of the town. In the distance, the church spire gleams with a greyish-white light under the moonlight.
Wayne looked around the room.
He turned around and looked at Mimi.
"Didn't you say there was a cat in the room?"
