Witch Training Manual: My Water Magic Is Wrong
Chapter 441 Klaus with the One-Armed Arm
Wayne and Tessa stopped at the same time.
A figure burst out from behind the pile of corpses, stumbling and falling. His robe was torn in half, and his left arm was bare from the elbow down.
It's Klaus.
He was followed by seven or eight Black Hand members, all of them wounded. The one in front had half his face covered in blood and kept looking back as he ran.
Klaus's face changed drastically when he saw Wayne, and he practically shouted, "Run! Young friend! Run!"
Before he finished speaking, a large group of figures in grey and white robes emerged from the passage behind him.
Divine Servant Team.
There were only a dozen or so people, but strangely, there were hundreds of corpses following behind them.
A group of people rolled their eyes back, their pupils shrank to the size of pinpoints, and their faces were expressionless, like puppets whose strings had been ripped off.
"These servants of the gods are all insane!" Klaus roared as he ran. "They bite anyone they see, and they don't even flinch when you stab them with a knife! They ripped my arm off alive!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a member of the Black Hand who was running at the back stopped in his tracks and was tackled to the ground by a member of the Divine Servant Team.
The man's movements were as contorted as a spider's, his limbs clinging to the Black Hand member, and he opened his mouth to bite, tearing a large chunk of skin and flesh from the neck.
Klaus stumbled to Wayne, almost completely exhausted. Wayne helped him up, his gaze passing over Klaus's shoulder and landing on the figure in the grey-white robe behind them.
The first few members of the Divine Servant Team had closed to within ten steps.
Wayne raised his hand.
The water element did not condense into a blade or transform into a battle weapon; instead, it transformed into an extremely fine mist that spread out in front of his outstretched palm. The mist was very thin, like the morning dew, yet it precisely covered the mouths and noses of the seven or eight members of the divine servant team at the very front.
The movements of those people changed instantly.
The person at the front stumbled, his knees buckled, and he fell to his knees.
He lay on the ground, panting heavily, his eyes darting around blankly, seemingly completely bewildered as to why he was kneeling there.
Then came the second, and the third.
Within the area covered by the water mist, the controlled members of the divine servant team stopped one after another. Some squatted down with their heads in their hands, some slumped on the ground, and some looked around blankly.
"How did we get here?"
"I remember we went down five floors with the captain... and then? What happened next?"
"My mind was blank, like I had just woken up from a nap and found myself here."
Klaus, panting heavily, looked up at the members of the Divine Servant Team who had regained consciousness and cursed, "Damn it, these idiots are finally awake."
The water mist continued to spread forward.
The running corpses behind them seemed to have had their strings pulled out; one after another, they collapsed to the ground, twitched a couple of times, and then stopped moving.
Soon, the bewildered members of the team turned their gazes to Klaus. Several of them instinctively gripped their weapons, watching him warily.
"Klaus? What are you doing here?"
"You brought men to intercept us?"
Klaus sneered, raising his only remaining arm and pointing to his severed limb: "Look at this arm of mine, did I cut it off myself for fun?"
Those people fell silent.
Klaus took a couple of breaths and continued, "You were betrayed by Leon without even realizing it. He lied to you, saying there was a divine blessing on the fifth floor, and made you follow him down. And what happened? He used you all as sacrifices, feeding you to that corpse."
"Offerings?"
"What did you think that was?" Klaus spat. "The main force of the Divine Servant Team all died down there. You few should thank this young man in front of you for surviving. If he hadn't woken you up with water mist, you'd still be walking corpses, following Leon around as cannon fodder."
Tessa leaned close to Wayne's ear and whispered, "Wayne, the one in the middle, the one on the left, and the one at the very back. They ganged up on me before and almost killed me."
Wayne's expression remained unchanged as his gaze swept across the faces of the three members of the Divine Servant Team.
The three people were standing there, not yet fully recovered from their confusion, each rubbing their temples, as if trying to remember why they were there.
Wayne raised his hand slightly, and three water spikes sprang from between his fingers, so fast that they didn't even cause a splash. Three thin streams of water pierced through his skull, leaving a trail of blood.
The three people fell to the ground almost simultaneously.
The newly awakened servants of the gods were stunned.
They looked down at the corpse on the ground, then looked up at Wayne, and everyone instinctively took a step back.
Klaus was stunned. Blood was still seeping from the strip of cloth covering his severed arm. He asked in confusion, "Young friend, what happened to you...?"
Wayne withdrew his hand, his tone casual: "The goddess told me that the three of them aren't good people."
Tessa smiled.
She felt good about being protected.
She stepped forward and stood in front of the remaining people.
"Mr. Wayne is right. The three people he just killed were not good people. They had all participated in my pursuit."
She paused, then scanned them one by one.
"I've seen most of your faces before. Some of you have been on missions with me, and some of you served under me for a time. When I left the Divine Servant Corps, Leon ordered me to be hunted down, and some of you stood against me."
But none of you laid a hand on me, so I won't pursue the matter today. Now, that fool Leon is planning to unleash disaster. If he succeeds, none of you will survive."
Tessa continued.
"Those who want to live, lay down your weapons and follow my orders. The rest who wish to flee and survive... die!"
After a while.
The first member of the Divine Servant Team laid down his sword.
Then came the second, and the third.
More than a dozen people knelt down on one knee one after another.
"I will obey Your Majesty's orders."
On the other side, Klaus's gaze darted back and forth between Tessa and Wayne twice.
"Girl, you..."
Tessa gave Klaus a slight bow and said, "Teacher Klaus, you're right, it was Wayne who saved me."
Klaus suddenly realized, and finally nodded: "I see! Okay, I'm glad you're alright. When Leon ordered the hunt for you, I felt something was off."
Before he could finish speaking, the earthquake struck.
Everyone looked into the distance at the same time.
At the horizon, a skeleton seventy or eighty meters tall was walking towards them.
It wasn't a human skeleton; the shape of the head resembled that of some kind of gigantic beast. Ribs were exposed, the spine was thick, and each step it took left a huge dent in the ground.
Two figures stood on the skull's shoulder blades.
