Seeing the puzzled look on Wayne's face, Sefilas realized, "That's right, you don't know what the agreement is yet."

He paused, then began to speak from the beginning.

The agreement was made by Wayne in another timeline. In that timeline, Emily died in the City of Eternal Sleep, taking a fatal blow for Wayne. At that time, Wayne couldn't save her, nor could he completely defeat Anubidi; he merely sealed the city away, a Pyrrhic victory.

So Wayne and Sephira made a deal.

Let the current Wayne do three things for him.

The sacred tree.

Control the God Corpse.

Kill the evil god.

After saying all this, Sephira breathed a sigh of relief.

That's roughly the gist of it.

After he finished speaking, he looked at Wayne suspiciously.

"Hey kid, you're not going to back out of this, are you?"

Wayne dared not renege on his promise. He bowed deeply and said, "Rest assured, senior. Since I have promised you, I will not go back on my word."

Wayne remained silent for a moment.

After listening, he suddenly understood.

Sefilas's figure was noticeably fainter than before.

After he finished speaking, his figure began to fade, like smoke blown away by the wind, gradually dissolving into the air.

Wayne straightened up and bowed to the vanishing phantom: "Respectfully seeing you off, senior."

Sefilas has completely disappeared.

Time began to loosen.

Morris's black light slid along the ground, passed where Wayne had been standing, missed its target, and slammed into the rock wall behind him, creating a deep crater.
