Ya Ya stared blankly at the magnificent Bu Tou Mountain, tilting her little head back.

Look, look, look! What a treasure trove we've discovered!

She dragged her little cart and ran quickly to the side of Butou Mountain. She stretched out her little hand and pulled out a piece of cloth. It was soft and smooth, and bigger than her leopard-print blanket. Such a beautiful piece of cloth was something that they might not be able to buy even if they went to the city.

Are they just piled up here haphazardly?

Ya Ya felt itchy inside, wishing she could crawl into this little mountain with both hands and feet.

"The fabrics are alright, but the styles are really hard to choose from."

"Sis, these are nice ones you have. How long have you been picking them out? I've never seen these colors before, and they're even pastel colors."

"I've been picking through fabrics since this afternoon and I've only found a few here. You'll have to find these fabrics yourself."

"Most of them are scraps of cloth; the larger ones are buried underneath."

"Even if the scraps of fabric look nice, I can make some scrunchies when I get home. Handmade scrunchies are all the rage these days, and they sell for ten or twenty yuan each."

A few people were chatting and picking things out not far away.

Ya Ya listened intently, staring at the fabric that the young ladies had casually pulled out and put aside with obvious disdain. This fabric was such a beautiful and delicate peach-pink color paired with green, why were they complaining about it?

How beautiful!

She stretched out her little hand, grabbed the edge of the pretty light red cloth strip, and tugged and tugged, and it turned out to be a big piece of cloth!

Ya Ya was overjoyed and happily piled the wads of cloth onto her little cart.

After observing for a while, I noticed that many of the older women were taking off their shoes and stepping up the mountain to reach the fabric at the top. Ya Ya also took off her shoes and nimbly crawled into the towering fabric mountain to retrieve it.

She plunged headfirst into the fluffy, soft pile of fabric, her small body mostly buried in the layers, with only half of her body showing as she used her hands and feet to rummage through it.

With her lips upturned and a row of white teeth showing, she looked like a little mouse that had fallen into a rice jar. She struggled to move through the pile of fabric, crawling and rummaging, and before she knew it, she was covered in a fine sweat, but Ya Ya didn't feel tired at all.

After rummaging around for a while, Ya Ya finally managed to pull out about ten pieces of cloth. She sat in the pile of cloth, looking left and right, and realized that it seemed that picking them up from behind these older sisters and aunties was not as good as going into the mountains to pick them up.

The large floral fabrics they tore off that they didn't want were exactly their favorite styles.

Ya Ya moved down from the mountain of fabric and quietly followed behind an older girl. She quickly found two beautiful, thick pieces of fabric. One was grass-green with tiny, fine red roses printed on it.

The other piece has a deep red background, adorned with intricate red and white interwoven patterns.

Ya Ya moved behind another aunt. This aunt had a lot of brightly colored fabrics piled up next to her. Any piece she pulled out was white with a full-print tie-dye pattern of bright orange flowers, the colors were intense and eye-catching.

After picking up another ten or so pieces, Ya Ya looked at the fabric in the cart and quietly asked Grandma Duck about the time. That was all for today.

She frowned, as if she wanted to take over the entire mountain.

But I don't know if I'll have enough money to buy it.

Ya Ya sighed, grabbed a handful more, piled them all onto the stroller, and then pushed the stroller to the shop entrance.

Sitting at the entrance was a kind-looking, well-off-looking auntie.

"Auntie, I want to buy these fabrics."

The fabric shop owner looked at the scraps of fabric on the cart, then got up and helped fold each piece neatly. The little one had chosen pieces of varying sizes, some of which were of quite good quality. She usually charged extra for these whole pieces of good fabric, which was also written on the sign at the door.

However, seeing that the child was covered in sweat and that the items she was holding were slow-moving styles, I decided to give her four items for ten yuan each.

After counting, there were a total of thirty-six pieces, almost all of which were large pieces of fabric.

"ninety."

The proprietress put a neatly folded stack of fabric into Ya Ya's little cart, pressed it down, and then closed the lid.

"Here you go, little one."

"Okay, thank you, Auntie. I'll come again next time!" Ya Ya grinned and carefully memorized the appearance of the shop. After paying, she pushed her cart back home with light steps.

He was humming a cheerful little tune to himself: "Hey ya hey hey yo~ We're living a good life, so prosperous and thriving~"

Humming a song all the way, Ya Ya suddenly stopped singing when they were almost at the escalator. "Oh dear, there's another problem. This scary escalator seems even scarier going down."

She gripped the handlebars tightly, encouraging herself. "It's okay, it's okay. I've ridden on it twice before. This time, I must bravely step on!"

Having mentally prepared herself, Ya Ya continued pushing the stroller forward. Her view gradually widened, and a familiar escalator came into view, with a... familiar tall, thin figure beside it?!

It was the same woman with dark circles and ripped pants who had brought me up earlier.

Ya Ya's eyes lit up: "Sister!"

After Cheng You left, he was still a little worried. Since he had nothing else to do, he decided to come and wait for a while. Just as he was getting impatient, he heard the little guy's tender voice calling out.

She gave a slight upturn to her lips, then quickly composed herself, nodding at her with a cold expression.

Ya Ya pushed her little cart and ran over. "What a coincidence, sister! I see you again. Do you want to buy pants? I just looked here and they're not here!"

However, I bought a lot of beautiful fabric. I'll give you a piece to take home and mend it.

As he spoke, the little guy proudly lifted the lid of his stroller.

Cheng You looked at the cart full of fabrics with messy, mixed patterns, and her lips twitched. Even her grandmother didn't use this kind of pattern when patching clothes.

"No need, these pants are a design, not torn, I don't need them patched."

After saying that, she looked behind Ya Ya and, seeing no one else, asked, "Where are your parents, little brat?"

Ya Ya blinked innocently and didn't say anything.

Cheng You resignedly picked up Ya Ya and her stroller. "You want to go downstairs? I'll take you."

"Thank you, sister! You're so kind!" Ya Ya grabbed Cheng You's pants. "Sister, I bought lots of pretty fabric. When we get back, I'll ask Aunt Chun Tao to make you some beautiful new pants. Aunt Chun Tao's handiwork is amazing!"

Cheng You didn't say anything. Just like Ya Ya would ignore the word "parents," she also automatically ignored the word "pants."

Everyone tacitly agreed to remain silent when faced with difficult questions.
