Ya Ya pushed her little cart and headed familiarly toward the sausage shop.

The ground was still a little damp, and there were many more people on the street than yesterday.

Before they even reached the shop, a loud shout drifted over: "Little sister, have two slices! It's your big brother's treat, if you don't eat them, I'll feel bad!"

The sudden loud voice startled Ya Ya.

A man wearing a black jacket with red flowers held up long food tongs, picked up a piece of shiny sausage, and handed it directly to her.

Ya Ya subconsciously took a small step back.

Seeing that she wouldn't take it, the stall owner pushed the tongs forward a little further: "No need to spend any money, you can eat your fill for free here, just eat!"

"Don't be afraid, little one. This vendor is offering free samples; he doesn't charge you," a passerby explained.

Ya Ya hesitated for a moment, then reached out her little hand, gently pinched the piece of sausage, and took a small bite.

The meat is firm, and a meaty aroma spreads in your mouth.

The flavor was much stronger than the red sausages she bought.

Ya Ya stood on tiptoe to examine the sausage vendor's stall, while the vendor turned around and continued to loudly hawk his wares to other passersby.

Uncle Meat Sausage's stall had a large display of various kinds of sausages, thick and thin, red and white, all glistening with oil and smelling delicious. To the left was a small cart with a price tag on it, 12.8 yuan a sausage.

Ya Ya frowned. Although this sausage was thicker and had a stronger meaty flavor than the small red sausage, the small red sausage was a better deal—six for ten yuan! It was salty, savory, and delicious, and went well with rice or porridge.

As he was pondering, another piece of sausage with small black specks was handed to him: "Little sister! I'll make sure you're full. See if you like this flavor, it's black pepper, give it a try!"

Ya Ya was taken aback. How come there are still more?

Taking the thick slice of sausage, Ya Ya thought for a moment, realizing she couldn't just eat her uncle's food for free, and immediately took out a small handful of wild scallions she had saved from the cart and handed them to the stall owner:

"Uncle, you've given me too much sausage. I can't just eat your sausage for free. These are wild onions I picked myself; they taste really good. Here, take them from me."

The stall owner was stunned; even he couldn't figure out what the little girl was doing.

He was still live-streaming on his phone. This kind of sausage-spreading sales pitch was just one of his marketing methods, making money from traffic. He never expected to meet such an honest young girl.

However, because the little guy was too short, the camera couldn't capture his face; all that could be heard was his soft, childlike voice.

Seeing the number of viewers in the live stream skyrocketing, he immediately laughed and said, "Alright, Uncle will accept it. Mmm~ these scallions smell amazing! It's only polite to reciprocate, so Uncle will give you a few more to try."

As he spoke, he pulled over a large bag and used tongs to grab seven or eight sausages of different flavors: "This one is original, the black pepper one is also selling well, and I'll get some preserved meat for my little sister too. Does she like Cantonese style? Sweet kind? Oh, take them all!"

After shoveling the bag, I stuffed it all into Ya Ya's stroller.

Ya Ya stood there, looking completely bewildered.

Sausages are falling from the sky!

"Hahaha, the little girl is silent now, probably scared. Her two little pigtails aren't moving at all, so cute!"

"I was stunned by the sausage."

"This is the first time Gang Ge has received a donation from someone after streaming for so long."

The number of comments in the live stream also increased, and small gifts kept appearing.

"Don't just stand there, little sister, remember this stall, come and get some if you want, it's free for you!" the sausage stall owner shouted.

what?

Ya Ya glanced at the cart and then at the stall. This uncle was too enthusiastic. She would have to take a detour next time!

"Thank you, Uncle! Well, I'm off now? I'm leaving with the sausage?"

"Go ahead, come back if you want more! Hey, bro, come on, have a piece, I'll feel bad if you don't eat!" The sausage vendor started shouting again.

As more and more people gathered around, Ya Ya shrank back and carefully pushed her cart out of the crowd.

They're being too enthusiastic; I can hardly handle it.

When I arrived at the familiar red sausage stall, the familiar aunt in the apron was packing sausages for a regular customer.

There were no shouts here, and Ya Ya breathed a sigh of relief.

"Auntie boss, I want two hundred yuan worth of red sausages!" Ya Ya raised her little hand high, while steam gushed from the styrofoam box next to her.

Perhaps because she has grown taller recently, Ya Ya can barely see the other goods on the stall when she stands on tiptoe.

Besides braised dishes and small red sausages, there are also large meat sausages and a whole piece of bright yellow leg.

Unlike a chicken leg, this one is as big as Yaya's face.

"Auntie, what kind of leg is this?"

"This is braised duck leg. It's savory and flavorful, with firm and chewy meat that gets better the more you eat it. Have a taste," the apron-wearing auntie said with a smile, cutting off a small piece and handing it to her to try.

Ya Ya put a small piece of yellow braised duck leg meat into her mouth. It was a little salty, but the meat was really fragrant and the more she ate, the more fragrant it became.

"Auntie, how much is this duck leg?"

"Seven yuan each." Seeing that Ya Ya was having a hard time standing on tiptoe, the aunt in the apron wrapped one in a bag and handed it to Ya Ya: "Here, this braised duck leg of ours weighs half a pound each, and it's quite big. Hold it steady and take a look."

Ya Ya took the heavy duck leg.

"Then I'll take fifty, Auntie!" Salty duck legs, they could save my life!

Ya Ya remembered that everyone was weak because they didn't have salt, so she thought she could buy more of this salty good stuff and store it in her space.

After buying red sausages and duck legs, Ya Ya pushed the cart towards the fresh produce section. A large truck was parked next to the market area, and it was full of Chinese cabbages.

A loudspeaker nearby kept repeating: "Cabbages are six cents a pound! Six cents a pound! Sell out and we're leaving! Hurry up!"

Six cents!

Ya Ya's eyes lit up, and she quickly pushed the stroller over.

The villagers usually eat wild vegetables, which makes Aunt Chuntao and her mother-in-law feel sorry for them. Now, wild vegetables are not like before; they are precious and can be sold for money. Everyone is reluctant to keep too many, always thinking that if they eat less, they can sell more.

With such affordable cabbages here, my aunt and mother-in-law probably won't feel bad buying them.

Grandpa Chen said that eating more vegetables is good for your health.

The people here also love to eat vegetables, so they are all very healthy.

Ya Ya stared at the aunties next to her. They bought hundreds of kilograms at a time, which sounded like a lot, but after weighing them, there were only eight or nine cabbages.

There's still plenty of space in the cellar; we should be able to fill a lot of the empty spaces with cabbages.

Ya Ya held onto the stroller and pondered for a while before finally asking, "Hello, Auntie Boss, may I try this cabbage?"

Try it first, and if it's good, buy more and stock up.

"Try it? This is a vegetable, you know. It needs to be cooked. It doesn't taste good raw." The vegetable vendor looked at the little one holding onto the cart in surprise.

Ya Ya looked at the plump, white cabbage in front of her. The stalks were clean and free of mud, and the leaves were tender and fresh.

I used to eat raw wild vegetables all the time. When I was really hungry, I would eat anything with mud on it. Some of the vegetables tasted bitter, and some tasted numb. None of them looked as good as the cabbage in front of me.

"I still want to try it, Auntie. Can I just take a small piece?"
