Tokyo: My Girlfriend
Chapter 62 A Night That Was Like a Dream
"I..." the woman murmured, her long, pale blonde hair swaying gently in the cold night breeze. Realizing the other woman was truly drunk, she slowly walked over, wearing her usual long dress: "Don't sit here, let me help you inside to rest. You're really drunk."
She tried to help him up, but found that Kitagawa Shinichi had no intention of getting up. He was just staring straight at her, and the emotion in his gaze was something the girl had never seen before.
The girl's eyebrows twitched: "What's wrong?" Her red lips parted slightly, and she said with a smile, "I'm sorry, I really shouldn't have let you be alone with Rena..." Her heart skipped a beat halfway through her sentence.
Because the next second, Shinichi Kitagawa pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly.
The girl's pupils dilated. The force of the embrace was even stronger than the last time on the tram. She could even feel a strong emotion in the force, which traveled through her skin to her heart.
Shinichi Kitagawa frowned with his eyes closed: "Wouldn't it have been better if we had done this earlier? We should have faced the difficulties together instead of deciding for ourselves who I should like, you idiot."
She only half understood what he meant, but she still hugged him tightly.
"Shall I help you inside?"
"Wait a minute, let's hug like this for a while..."
Her beautiful eyes glanced at Kitagawa Shinichi's profile out of the corner of her eye, and suddenly she felt a pang of guilt. Her eyes welled up with tears, for the intensity of the emotion far exceeded her expectations: "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..."
Shinichi Kitagawa relaxed a little, and seeing the tears welling up in the girl's eyes, he wiped them away with his hand.
Shinichi Kitagawa comforted him, "It's alright."
The result was that the other person's emotions, which were initially under control, became even more chaotic.
Shinichi Kitagawa took the initiative and kissed him.
The subtle atmosphere caused the other person's fingers to clench, their pupils to tremble, before they finally kissed.
But tears also slid down the girl's cheeks.
She silently said to herself, "I'm so sorry," but she didn't know who she was saying it to.
Her fair arms wrapped around Shinichi Kitagawa's neck, savoring the intimacy she had always longed for.
The two people's lips met.
Intertwined, surrounding.
Their bodies were getting closer and closer.
In Kitagawa Shinichi's bedroom, the girl lay on the bed, cupping Kitagawa Shinichi's face in her hands.
With a blush of shyness on her face and a smile in her eyes brimming with tears, she said, "Shin-ichi... yes, it's okay with you. I'm willing to give myself to you."
"Yinna..."
She managed a weak "hmm".
She bit Shinichi Kitagawa's ear.
The girl closed her eyes, one hand intertwined with Shinichi Kitagawa's fingers, while the fingertips of her other hand pressed tightly against the skin of the boy's back.
Rena next door was lost in a sweet dream.
The lingering intimacy of the night continued, a state that was neither joyful nor sorrowful.
The shrine gathering is still bustling with activity, and this lively scene will likely continue until late into the night.
Wearing a kimono, Haruhi Hina wandered aimlessly through the fair, occasionally greeting students she met along the way, and gazing up at the occasional fireworks bursting in the sky.
Her gentle expression held a hint of disappointment: "Shin-ichi should have gone back long ago. I guess I still didn't run into him..."
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains and shone on his face. When Kitagawa Shinichi woke up, he had a slight headache.
Although I've never drunk alcohol before, I've heard people say that I feel dizzy the next day, and it must be because the alcohol concentration is too high.
He opened his eyes and subconsciously turned his head to look at the pillow, wanting to call someone's name, but found no one there.
After a moment of surprise, Kitagawa Shinichi remained stunned for a full half minute before realizing something. He closed his eyes again, placing his arm on his forehead: "Was it a dream? I thought... I'm such a disappointment."
He recalled the slightly hazy memories of last night, his entanglement and embrace with Hina.
Although the process seemed incredibly real, now that I'm sober and thinking about it, how could Hina possibly come to my house to apologize?
She's not the impulsive type. Even if she really felt she had done something wrong, she wouldn't just barge in without asking me first. She would definitely tell me beforehand.
Shinichi Kitagawa got dressed and went to the bathroom to wash his face to calm himself down. The cold water completely woke him up from his dazed state.
He exhaled a sigh of relief, as if he had been brought back to life.
He went to Kitagawa Rena's room and knocked on the door: "Rena? Are you awake?"
There were some coquettish sounds in the room. Despite Rena's usual aloofness and silence, she would actually make some coquettish sounds that were unique to girls when she was half asleep.
Shinichi Kitagawa smiled and said, "Judging from your voice, you're awake, right? Time to get up and wash your face to sober up."
In the girl's bedroom, Kitagawa Rena struggled to open her clear, cold eyes. Clutching her blanket, she half-turned to look at the door: "What time is it?"
Shinichi Kitagawa replied from the living room, "Anyway, it's Sunday, so it doesn't matter what time it is. But since you drank alcohol yesterday, you need to eat something this morning, otherwise your stomach will feel uncomfortable."
Reina Kitagawa reluctantly got out of bed, looked at her kimono, and remembered that she had changed her clothes last night and was ready to play with Shinichi at the gathering, but she came back without doing anything?
What is this?
She changed back into her usual white dress, rubbed her eyes, and walked out of the bedroom, muttering, "Is Xin Yi dizzy now? I still feel a little dizzy."
Shinichi Kitagawa was already making tea: "Washing my face and eating something will make me feel better. Luckily I didn't drink much last night, otherwise sleeping at the shrine would have been a real problem."
After a quick wash, Kitagawa Rena sat on the sofa with her brother, drinking hot tea and eating a simple breakfast to relax.
After drinking a cup of hot tea, most of the aftereffects of alcohol seemed to disappear instantly.
Rena Kitagawa exhaled a puff of fragrant tea, glancing at the person beside her: "Did I kiss you yesterday?"
Kitagawa Shinichi paused in his tea-drinking motion, then said awkwardly, "It seems there was such a thing. I didn't expect you to remember..."
Rena Kitagawa snorted and stared at the tea: "How could I forget? As expected, the things people say about blacking out after drinking are all lies. Although I was drunk yesterday, I still remember everything that happened clearly, and I know I even had a dream."
"What kind of dream?" Shinichi Kitagawa asked curiously. "Did you dream about eating delicious food?"
"I guess so." Rena Kitagawa tilted her head back, her face instantly turning red, and said righteously, "I had a wet dream! I dreamt that I went to a hotel with Shinichi and we were doing *that* kind of thing, but the hotel we found seemed to have terrible soundproofing, and the other rooms were making *that* kind of noise, which made the atmosphere in the dream very... well, you know."
Shinichi Kitagawa asked with some surprise, "Huh?"
She dreamed about it too? What kind of wine is this?
Can I really keep having dreams like this?
Rena Kitagawa closed her eyes and savored the moment: "It was quite realistic, wasn't it? It's just that when I think back, the kissing and everything felt so real, but the final step felt so empty. I guess people just can't imagine things they haven't tried before? What a pity."
Shinichi Kitagawa had beads of sweat the size of soybeans on his forehead.
Is this girl now able to tell me everything?
Rena Kitagawa reopened her eyes, a smile playing on her lips, and looked at Shinichi Kitagawa: "Shinichi, did you dream about me last night?"
Shinichi Kitagawa sipped his tea: "No."
"Not dreaming?"
"I did dream about it, but I didn't dream about Reina."
Reina Kitagawa was slightly puzzled, but her face quickly darkened, her forehead covered in black lines. Did Shinichi mean that she had dreamed about that woman again?!
Damn it...did he really dream about it or was he just having a dream? I can't ask him, because if he didn't dream about it, wouldn't that make Shinichi think about Haruhi Hina again?
She gave a jealous snort: "I'm not in the mood to talk anymore. I'm going to tidy up your room! You can eat slowly."
Shinichi Kitagawa reminded him, "No need to rush, I can take care of it myself later."
Reina Kitagawa, speaking from a distance, replied, "You must have slept in those dirty clothes last night. The sheets and everything need to be changed. How did you manage to clean yourself up? Shinichi can't live without me either."
"That's true."
"Remember to dream about me next time, don't just have random dreams."
Shinichi Kitagawa did not respond, but Rena just said that she doesn't black out when she drinks.
But Shinichi Kitagawa seemed to have no memory of last night; all he could think about was that dream.
So Rena didn't black out, but I, on the other hand, drank myself into a stupor? I didn't drink that much...
"Huh? Shin-ichi, what's that under your bed?! Where did that little stick come from?"
A moment later, Rena Kitagawa suddenly called out from the bedroom.
"A small wooden stick? What small wooden stick?" Kitagawa Shinichi asked in confusion.
Reina walked over holding a wooden stick with words carved on it: "This is it. I just saw something roll under your bed. Is this an item given out by the shrine? Where did Shinichi get it yesterday? I didn't get one."
Shinichi Kitagawa took the small brown wooden stick from the other person's hand and found that it had words engraved on it and a red rope tied to the top.
The inscription reads "mutual affection," and it appears to be a small item made by the shrine.
He was utterly confused: "But I didn't receive this thing, so how did it end up in my room?"
Rena Kitagawa didn't think much of it:
"Did you just casually pick it up and forget about it? Or did someone deliberately put it on you?" Her eyes were full of disdain. "Because this thing looks like some kind of prop for seeking marriage, right? Maybe a girl secretly slipped it into your clothes."
Shinichi Kitagawa smiled and said, "That's possible."
But as he stared at the wooden stick, he inexplicably recalled his dream from last night. Although he felt the chances were extremely slim, could it be Hina's?
Did Hina really come here yesterday?
