The Silent Bookstore Manager at Hogwarts
Chapter 7, Item 1: Learning a Language
"To become...an apprentice?"
Harry clearly had many ideas in mind, such as becoming a great craftsman, but all his imaginations completely collapsed during Red's subsequent performance.
"Yes, learning is something you'll definitely find useful."
The light filtering through the glass converged into beams in Red's hands, as if by magic. In Red's hands, the light was like a docile pet, allowing him to manipulate it at will.
"The great art... three are light, three are night, and three are beyond measure. What I show you is merely a small demonstration of one of these arts, [Glass and Forged Light]."
"Why me?" Harry Potter asked earnestly. He couldn't understand why it was him, such an ordinary, thin boy with no distinguishing features except for a scar on his forehead.
"Because you're lucky enough, is that a valid reason? You're the only person I can talk to right now, and you just happened to stumble and fall with me from the beach to the blacksmith's shop. You're a friend I know... It's that simple."
Harry Potter was stunned. In his short eleven years of life, this was the first time someone had said these things to him and treated him as a true friend.
"I promise you, I will become an apprentice at the Silent Bookstore... I will become your apprentice and work for you."
Harry Potter no longer hesitated, and with the Silent Bookstore as witness, this little contract was reached. Harry even felt that the Silent Bookstore seemed to have reduced some kind of barrier between him that he was not aware of before.
"Okay, it seems to have worked. Now, with my permission, you can enter the Silent Bookstore without my invitation. You can just silently think about this idea in your mind..."
Red clapped his hands, then pulled an uncataloged book from the huge desk in the room and handed it to Harry.
"Let's get started. If you want to learn this knowledge, first you have to learn how to compile books, and then... learn languages with me. There aren't many: Latin, Greek, Sanskrit, Aramaic, and Phrygian. Once you learn these, you'll be able to understand most modern books on the great arts."
Harry Potter felt as if he had been struck by lightning. He just wanted to learn those cool, magical things, so why did Red tell him that first?
"You have to learn five languages with me."
And Harry Potter couldn't fathom why Red could speak so easily. He didn't understand the difficulty of learning languages, but five languages sounded like a terrifying number.
"Don't worry, you can learn it... Before the end of this year, the sooner the better. I'll start compiling materials to teach you, starting with Latin, since it's a language that can really be used in our country."
Red wasn't exaggerating his thoughts. Ever since he opened Bumble's Diary, the knowledge related to these five languages had been constantly floating in his mind. However, he forcibly suppressed this knowledge with his soul essence to prevent it from impacting his brain. He still needed a few days of sleep to summarize these languages and bring them back into his grasp.
"Really?"
"Otherwise, how would you understand our textbooks... You don't think these great techniques are like so-called magic, where I teach you spells and you can just throw them around without even understanding the principles and applications, right? I don't deny that such things exist, but Harry, most of the things we can use in this world need to be learned."
After hearing this, Harry no longer felt resistant. Although he still had doubts about whether he could really learn these languages, at least he no longer questioned the necessity of these things.
"Besides, when you go to London after you learn Latin, people will call you a 'real old European gentleman.' Latin was the language of science and theology in the Middle Ages."
Although Harry didn't quite understand what a "true old European man" meant, it sounded like a very impressive way of addressing someone, so he just nodded, somewhat bewildered.
"Although the observatory on the second floor probably won't be working today... wait, Harry, look at that thing."
Harry turned around and saw the exquisite star chart in the room.
[The Silent Baron's Astronomical Chart]: Thomas de Wolf used this armillary sphere—a type of spherical astrolabe—in his calculations, but it is far older than his. (Sexual aspect: 1st dome, instrument)
"Grab your tools, and you will succeed."
Harry looked at the astrolabe in front of him. Although he didn't quite understand the directions engraved on this ancient astrolabe, he still saw something very interesting: the words "waves and bells" were engraved on the base.
[Harry Potter] (3 lamps, 1 heart, 2 celestial bodies) (already enhanced with soul essence and tools)
[Night Watch Tower: Observatory]: There's a worrying damp patch on the ceiling that bends down. Something's leaking somewhere in the observatory. Only the sun knows its condition. I should get some help and be careful when entering. (Repair required: 2 cups or 2 domes)
[The Cup]: Food, sex, and desire—these are things from which there is no return. [The Cup represents the standards for procreation and feasting.]
After receiving the enhanced tools, Harry accurately located the leak and, with Red's help, patched it up. He also cleaned the entire massive observatory. Harry was once again awestruck by the Silent Book Company's terrifying financial resources; just looking at the enormous telescope revealed its immense cost.
"It's about time. You said when you came that your family had put you in solitary confinement, right?"
"Hmm..." Just thinking about that dark and cramped room made Harry feel like he might as well live there forever.
"Go back first. Don't let things worsen with your family. After all, what happened to you is really beyond common sense... It's not a good thing to attract the police."
Harry nodded in agreement. His uncle often complained about or even berated Scotland Yard during breakfast, and he really didn't think that being targeted by them would bring him any good fortune, especially after his special ability was made public.
Harry returned to the door of the Silent Bookshop, glanced back at Red, knocked on the door, and then vanished instantly.
"Phew, although it's much slower than in the game, at least things are progressing steadily." Reid stretched his limbs and returned to the orphanage.
The renovation of the Silent Bookstore was Reid's responsibility as the librarian. In fact, it wouldn't have mattered if the renovation progress had been slowed down, but Reid didn't think that the person who had brought him here so conveniently would be willing to see Reid completely neglect this matter.

"Miller, welcome back." Albus Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts, sat in his office, staring at the magic crystal ball on the table, and first welcomed the travel-worn McGonagall.
"Before we talk about anything else, Minerva, I think you need to take a look at this first."
As Dumbledore spoke, he handed the crystal ball to McGonagall.
