One Piece: I'm a Hunter on the Grand Line

Chapter 92 Too Many Wolves, Too Little Meat

"Join us?"

Miss Monday blinked, her dark face filled with confusion.

"You're from Guatemala, right? There are bounty hunters here too. Why do you want to join us?"

As she spoke, her tone became hesitant. She glanced around to make sure no one was nearby before continuing:

"For the sake of our shared struggle, I'll give you a heads-up: Whiskey Peak isn't just a bounty hunter town. Once you join, it won't be so easy to leave."

"Are you members of some secret organization?"

Yelena's eyes widened, her tone filled with barely concealed excitement, like an innocent young girl yearning for a mysterious and dangerous place.

"Now that you've said that, I'm even more eager to join."

Miss looked at Mr. 9 on Monday, wanting to ask her companion's opinion.

Mr. 9, oblivious to their conversation, was staring excitedly at the corpse on the ground, muttering, "I'm amazing! I actually defeated..."

Miss Monday sighed, "Okay, I agree, as long as you don't regret it."

The group, chased by pirates, had strayed far from the dock square. Now that the battle was over, Miss Monday picked up Little Mustache's corpse and headed back the way they came.

Yelena followed slowly behind them.

The battle on the other side was also drawing to a close.

Bounty hunters from Guatemala arrived at the docks at some unknown time, joining forces with the Whiskey Peak crew to ambush the Sawtooth Pirates from both sides.

As Yelena approached, a blood-covered pirate screamed and charged towards them.

"Get out of the way! Don't block my way!"

The pirates looked terrified, not like they were about to attack them; they were clearly panicked and had fled in the wrong direction.

Without Yelena lifting a finger, Mr. 9 sent the man away with a baseball bat.

At this point, there were no more pirates standing on the dock.

"Hey! You guys from Whiskey Peak! We saved you guys on Guatemala this time, so you'd better give us a bigger share of the loot! Eighty percent is fine!"

"Why should you? Nobody's asking you to take advantage of me!"

After the battle with the pirates ended, internal conflicts erupted among the bounty hunters, with two groups facing each other, weapons in hand, haggling over the price.

"Without our support, you bastards would have been killed by pirates long ago! We want 70%!"

"Bullshit! We'll give you 30% at most! We've been eyeing these pirates for a while now!"

Bang!

On Monday, Miss swung the iron bar she had just picked up and slammed it heavily onto the ground!

The dull thud drew everyone's attention.

"What's all the noise about! The spoils will be divided equally, does anyone have a problem with that?" A shrill voice rang out throughout the room.

Upon seeing their leader approach, the men from Whiskey Peak immediately fell silent.

The people of Guatemala were naturally unconvinced, but when they saw the corpse on Miss Monday's back, their resentment vanished instantly, and they all nodded with smiles.

"Half it is fine. Come back to us next time there's something good like this; we're all on the same side!"

Next, these bounty hunters from the Grand Line showed Yelena what professionalism really meant.

Not only ships and weapons, but even pirates' clothes and shoes were looted; everything that could be exchanged for money was plundered.

The dock was covered with white or dark figures lying on it; it was an eyesore.

After all the spoils were gathered together, the pirates' corpses were carried to the woods on the edge of town, and many bounty hunters followed with hoes.

The "one-stop service before and after death" is indeed true.

Yelena looked up at the sky and sighed. She really wanted those people in Beihai who cursed her for being cruel and bloodthirsty to come and see what they were like.

Compared to these bastards, she's practically a saint.

At least she wouldn't let pirates travel naked.

One of the bounty hunters pulled out a pen and paper and quickly calculated the value of his loot.

"Including the ship, these things could fetch at least thirty million Berries!"

Upon hearing this, the others around him jumped up in excitement.

"We've struck it rich!"

Yelena recalled the scene of the previous confrontation between the bounty hunters in her mind. She remembered clearly that the two groups together numbered more than two hundred.

That means each person will receive approximately 15 Berries.

Judging from their expressions, it's easy to tell that today must be a rare harvest day.

Suddenly I understand why bounty hunters are so greedy, even taking advantage of pirates' clothes.

It's all because of poverty.

She finally understood why some people with poor skills would choose to enter this industry.

Their targets weren't the high-bounty monster pirates, but the low-level pirate minions who, like them, occupied a low ecological niche.

The heads of low-level pirates are worthless, but they might have money in their pockets, and their ships might contain treasure.

Robbing pirates is not illegal.

She looked at Miss Monday, pointed to the man with the small mustache's corpse, and asked, "Should this guy's bounty be divided up too?"

Miss Monday shook her head, "No need, this is what the five of us deserve."

"Let's go, they're selling their loot, we should go exchange it for the bounty."

There is a naval garrison on the east side of the town, where dozens of marines and an officer are stationed.

This is a special outpost established by the Navy's G-2 branch on Guatemala Island.

This outpost has no patrol duties and does not pursue pirates.

The purpose of its establishment was to provide a place for nearby bounty hunters to exchange their bounties.

"It's you again. Let me see who the pirate is this time!"

The garrison officer had met Miss Monday before. After a brief greeting, he took out a stack of wanted posters and quickly flipped through them.

A few minutes later, they finally found the one that belonged to Little Mustache.

"Thirty million Berries?!" The officer's voice suddenly rose several decibels. "Really? You've gotten stronger?"

Miss Monday looked impatient. "Hurry up and give me the money."

"What's with the arrogance? If you're so capable, bring over someone with a higher bounty." Muttering to himself, the officer ordered his men to gather the money.

After leaving the naval base, Miss Monday, carrying the money box, led the way down another road.

Yelena looked puzzled. What was she going to do?

"Not going back to the ship?"

Miss Monday raised her arm; the wound on it had stopped bleeding and looked incredibly gruesome.

"Go to the hospital to get it bandaged first."

Yelena was even more confused. "Don't we have a doctor?"

When cleaning up the battlefield earlier, many wounded people shouted for the doctors and nurses on the ship to help stop the bleeding and treat their wounds. When she saw that some of them did not go, she thought that these guys did not care about their minor injuries.

"Now that we have money, of course we should go to the hospital to treat our injuries," Miss Monday said matter-of-factly.

Mr. 9 glanced down at his injuries and casually offered an explanation:

"The doctors at Whiskey Peak are terrible, absolutely terrible! We won't let them treat us unless it's absolutely necessary."

"As a senior, I have some advice for you and for all of you newcomers."

Mr. 9 looked at Vivi and Icarus and said earnestly, "You can trust your companions' enthusiasm, but please don't trust their medical skills."

"Who among truly skilled doctors would stoop to becoming a bounty hunter?"
