Chapter 87 Zhou Xun: Aren't you coming to my room? [Please continue reading]

In the next-door set of "The Legend of the Condor Heroes," Naza had just finished filming a scene when the director announced a five-minute break.

Xia, the assistant, approached her with an umbrella and handed her a phone. The phone was playing the live stream of the press conference for "The Legend of the Condor Heroes 2".

Naza took the phone and walked to the rest area while looking at it.

She frowned when she heard the reporter's question.

"Why are these reporters, with nothing better to do, asking such inappropriate questions?"

"Zhou Xun cannot side with either side; the only solution is to offend neither."

Sitting down in the recliner, her brow relaxed again, because she believed Zhou Xun could handle the problem.

Zhou Xun did the same on stage; he paused for a moment, then smiled and spoke:

"I'm very satisfied. Meng Ziyi is a professional actress, and we had great chemistry during rehearsals."

"Nazar is also a professional actress, and we had a very pleasant working relationship before."

"The most important thing for an actor is to create chemistry with their co-stars, rather than thinking about who would have been better at the role."

"Each pairing has its own unique chemistry; there's no comparison, nor is there any need to compare."

Zhou Xun's answer was flawless, offending neither side and leaving no room for argument.

Unless it's a girlfriend...

Xie Tian then pressed on, "So, which pair do you think had the stronger chemistry?"

Zhou Xun shook his head, his smile fading slightly: "I can't answer that."

"It's like you're asking me whether my left hand or right hand is more important. I need both; I can't do without either one."

After he finished speaking, he nodded slightly to the camera, indicating that the matter was settled.

Xie Tian was unwilling to give up and wanted to ask more questions, but the host took over the conversation at the right time and steered the topic to the next actor.

The atmosphere relaxed, and the camera lens moved away from Zhou Xun and focused on Li Yitong.

Meng Ziyi secretly breathed a sigh of relief, her shoulders unconsciously slumping. She had just been worried sick for Zhou Xun.

She glanced at Zhou Xun out of the corner of her eye and noticed that his expression had returned to calm.

The live stream comments scrolled rapidly during Zhou Xun's answer.

[Was this reporter doing this on purpose? Were they deliberately trying to make things difficult for my brother?]

[Send someone to find out if they were sent by the enemy. If so, smash them to pieces and do not accept any apologies.]

What I hate most is apologizing afterward. Kill! Kill! Kill!

[Zhou Xun has such high emotional intelligence; his answer was flawless.]

[The analogy of "left hand and right hand" is brilliant; it offends neither side.]

[I think he's avoiding the question; he definitely prefers Nazar.]

[Don't overthink it, he said he's very satisfied with both actresses!]

[Please elaborate, which type of satisfaction is best?!]

……

In Tian Xiwei's living room, Xiao Lan stared at her phone screen, her mouth changing from an "O" shape to a pout:

"Is this reporter crazy? Asking such a question, isn't he just deliberately trying to cause trouble?"

"What business is it of hers who Zhou Xun partners with? She's so nosy."

Tian Xiwei remained silent, her gaze fixed on the screen.

Zhou Xun's face was clearly visible in the shot, his eyes were clear when he spoke, and his words were very appropriate. He spoke so well.

"Xiwei, do you think that reporter was paid off by someone?"

Xiao Lan finally finished her rant, picked up the soy milk on the coffee table and gulped it down, wiping her mouth: "I came here specifically to set a trap for Zhou Xun."

"Not necessarily," Tian Xiwei said. "It's also possible that she just wanted to ask it herself. Asking this kind of question generates buzz, and no matter how Zhou Xun answers, she'll have news to write about."

Xiaolan thought about it and became even angrier: "Isn't that just using Zhou Xun as a tool?"

"Reporters are always looking for newsworthy angles," Tian Xiwei analyzed rationally. "Zhou Xun caught her off guard and didn't let her succeed."

"Look at the comments now, who's discussing the reporter's question? Everyone's praising Zhou Xun's answer."

"This is a classic case of trying to steal a chicken but losing the rice instead. She wanted to create controversy, but instead of creating controversy, she helped Zhou Xun establish a persona of being a highly emotionally intelligent person."

Xiao Lan was stunned for a moment, then her eyes slowly widened: "Xi Wei, how come your analysis is so logical?"

Tian Xiwei smiled, revealing two small tiger teeth: "Because that's what I studied. Actors don't just act; they also need to learn how to deal with the media. That's called media literacy."

"Amazing! Amazing!" Xiaolan gave two thumbs up. "No wonder you're a future superstar."

Tian Xiwei patted her on the head, didn't say anything, and continued looking at the screen.

……

As Naza heard the words "I'm very satisfied," "There's no comparison," and "Left hand, right hand," the corners of her mouth slowly curved up. She knew her boyfriend well enough.

"Sister Zha, Brother Zhou Xun's answer was really good," Xia whispered.

"Hmm." Naza nodded slightly, handed the phone to Xia, took a sip of his water, and said, "That's just how he is; he won't give anyone any leverage against him."

The loudspeaker on set blared, and the director yelled, "Action!"

Naza handed the water cup to Xia, straightened his costume, and walked towards the film set.

After taking a couple of steps, she suddenly stopped, turned back to look at Xia, and said, "Give me your phone."

Xia quickly handed it over. Naza took it, opened his chat window with Zhou Xun, and typed a line of text:

[That was a good answer. Call me back tonight if you're free.]

After sending the message, she shoved the phone back into Xia's hand and turned to walk into the film set.

The press conference for "The Legend of the Condor Heroes" continued without any further incidents and ended normally at 9:30 pm.

The actors exited through the side passage of the stage, and the live stream chat was flooded with comments like:

[goodbye!]

Meng Ziyi walked beside Zhou Xun, her steps slow, the hem of her costume swaying gently at her ankles.

She turned her head to look at Zhou Xun and lowered her voice: "You answered very well just now. I was afraid you would say something wrong."

Zhou Xun glanced at her sideways: "What could I possibly have said wrong?"

"What if you say 'I'm better'?" Meng Ziyi lowered her voice even further, so only the two of them could hear. "Wouldn't Nazha lose face then?"

Zhou Xun's lips curved slightly, but he didn't reply.

The two continued forward until they reached the corner backstage, where there were fewer people around.

Meng Ziyi suddenly stopped, turned around, looked up at Zhou Xun's face, her eyes serious:

"Zhou Xun, I have a question for you. Answer me honestly."

"ask."

"If it weren't me standing next to you today, but Nazario, how would you have answered that reporter?"

"I haven't worked with you before," Zhou Xun replied with a smile, "so that's why the reporter wouldn't ask that question."

I mean, hypothetically.

"I don't know the actor who played 'If'."

"Zhou Xun, don't interrupt." Meng Ziyi frowned. "You know what I want to ask."

Are you jealous?

"Who's jealous?!" Meng Ziyi snorted and turned her head away.

Zhou Xun stopped teasing her and said, "I will still say that."

"The same?" Meng Ziyi turned to look at him.

"Same."

Meng Ziyi stared into his eyes for two seconds, trying to find something.

But Zhou Xun's eyes were calm, and she couldn't find any flaws.

She smiled slowly and patted his arm lightly: "Okay, you pass."

Meng Ziyi turned and walked forward, her steps much lighter than before.

Zhou Xun followed behind her, shaking his head as he watched her retreating figure.

Li Yitong appeared at the other end of the corridor at some point, leaning against the wall with a script in her hand and her usual gentle smile on her lips.

Her gaze lingered on Zhou Xun for a long time before she looked away when Meng Ziyi walked towards her.

"Tongtong!" Meng Ziyi skillfully took her arm. "Did you see that on stage just now? That reporter asked such a tricky question."

"I saw it," Li Yitong said. "Zhou Xun's answer was quite good."

"Right? I think so too." Meng Ziyi pulled her arm and walked forward, "Let's go to the dressing room to touch up our makeup, we're going to take some official photos later."

"Aren't you going to wait for Zhou Xun?" Li Yitong looked at her with a smile.

"Don't wait, he won't get lost!"

Zhou Xun walked alone to the dressing room, picked up his phone, and looked at the message that Na Zha had sent him.

He typed back: [Okay.]

Naza is probably still filming and hasn't replied to Zhou Xun's message.

After the photoshoot and lunch, it was already 11:30.

Guo Jingyu instructed everyone to go back to their rooms and rest well, and that the opening ceremony would be held at 2:30 pm.

Meng Ziyi walked beside Zhou Xun and stopped at her room door. She carefully took out her meal card from her bag to open the door.

"Aren't you coming to my room?" Zhou Xun asked.
