Traveling Through Multiple Realms: The Supporting Character's Counterattack
Chapter 77 S-Class Meeting
In the following days, life in the iaido area returned to normal.
This tranquility is not idleness, but rather the immersion of most of one's mind in the process of getting to know and master the newly formed "Sword Heart" and "Water Mirror" sword.
He needs to carefully experience this new power, just like polishing a rough gem.
However, this tranquility did not last long.
That afternoon, the Hero Association's dedicated communicator on the table suddenly emitted a piercing buzz, breaking the silence of the dojo.
At almost the same time, Atomic Samurai at the other end of the dojo also received the same signal.
He gripped the communicator, his brow furrowed, and found his disciple. His fingertips unconsciously tapped the hilt of his sword, producing a crisp, light sound.
"The association headquarters urgently summoned all S-class heroes."
Atomic Samurai's voice carried a hint of solemnity, "A summons of this caliber has never been issued since the association's inception. It seems something of immense importance has occurred."
Iai picked up the communicator, and a brief command appeared on the screen: All S-class heroes are summoned to the Hero Association headquarters in City A.
"Another Dragon-level threat?"
Atomic Samurai seemed to be sifting through possible threats in his mind, "But it would require all S-class to be mobilized, so it's probably not as simple as just a regular Dragon-class threat."
Iai put away the communicator, his face not showing much surprise, but rather a sense of "finally it's here."
He had a vivid memory of this impending "major event," after all, it was the moment when the first powerful being with the power to destroy the world made its appearance.
He calmly said, "Who knows? But since it requires gathering 'all' S-class individuals, it's probably not something that can be summarized by just one or two powerful monsters. Perhaps it's a crisis that surpasses anything we've ever known before."
Upon hearing this, Atomic Samurai's expression grew even more solemn, and he nodded slightly: "Yes, the association must be making such a fuss over something of life and death. Make preparations, the car will be here soon."
The two didn't linger and quickly packed their things.
Soon after, a black luxury car bearing the Hero Association logo and specially reinforced silently pulled up outside the Atomic Flow Dojo.
Once inside the car, the interior is spacious and quiet, with excellent sound insulation that almost completely shuts out all the noise from the outside world.
The vehicle started smoothly, drove out of G city, and sped along the highway towards A city.
Inside the carriage, Atomic Warrior closed his eyes to rest and recharge.
Iai turned his head to look at the scenery rushing past outside the window, a slight ripple stirring in his heart.
"The Dark Matter Pirates, the cosmic overlord Boros, and Melzargard..."
He murmured these names to himself, and when he thought of the last oddball, a slight smile appeared on his lips, his expression somewhat meaningful.
"I've been waiting for so long, you've finally arrived."
Iai muttered to himself, his fingertips lightly tracing the hilt of his sword, "The 'severed arm' grudge, this time I will definitely 'repay' you properly, you five-headed monster!"
In the vast cosmic sky near Earth, inside a massive spaceship, the five-headed Melzagarudo inexplicably felt a chill.
……
Several hours later, the vehicle entered City A and drove deep into the underground parking lot of a magnificent black steel building complex.
"Mr. Atomic Samurai, Mr. Iaian, please come with me. An emergency meeting is about to begin."
A staff member in a crisp uniform who had been waiting immediately greeted them and, in a hurried yet respectful tone, guided them to a direct elevator that required special authorization to operate.
The elevator ascended rapidly and silently before finally coming to a stop.
After the door opened, the two were led into a spacious conference room, where more than ten S-class heroes were already sitting around a technologically advanced rectangular conference table.
However, these top experts, who were usually capable of standing alone and suppressing an entire city, did not communicate with each other at this moment.
A silent sense of alienation and oppression permeated the air, as if everyone was an isolated island, radiating an aura that kept strangers at bay.
Iai and Atomic Samurai were led to their seats, and Iai's gaze calmly swept across the entire room:
The sexy prisoner, dressed in a uniform with the iconic heart pattern, filled the chair with his muscular body.
The zombie man's face was as pale as paper, and his eyes stared blankly at the table, as if everything around him was irrelevant.
Metal Bat looked annoyed, a toothpick dangling from his mouth, his legs crossed unceremoniously over the edge of the table, the soles of his shoes pointing directly at Pig God across from him.
The Pig God seemed oblivious to all of this, only taking food out of the huge bag beside him and stuffing it into his mouth, making a loud chewing sound that drew attention.
Child Emperor was dressed like a primary school student, sucking on a lollipop, his fingers flying across the tablet, his brows slightly furrowed.
Drive Knight was completely covered in precision armor, motionless, like a real mechanical creation, with only the occasional flash of light from the eye sensors.
Super Alloy Blacklight sat alone in the corner, his bronze skin gleaming with a metallic sheen, as he looked down at his bulging biceps with fascination.
Flashy Flash closed his eyes to rest, his handsome face expressionless.
Police Dog Man sat on a specially made high stool, tongue lolling out, tilting his head to look at everyone with an innocent and strange gaze.
King crossed his arms, his expression serious, the scars on his face adding to his fierceness, but he kept sneaking glances at the other S-class soldiers, his inner self far less composed than his outward appearance.
There were no pleasantries, no conversations, only the sounds of breathing and the faint noise of the pig god eating echoing in the silence.
This dull silence lasted for about ten minutes.
The heavy alloy doors of the conference room slid open again.
The first to enter was Bangu with silver fangs. This veteran master walked with a steady gait and nodded slightly to the others who had arrived.
Following behind him was the cyborg Genos, whose short, golden hair was perfectly styled and whose mechanical body was spotless, clearly having fully recovered from the battle in J City.
His electronic eyes swept across the entire area, finally pausing slightly on Iai, nodding in greeting, to which Iai responded with a slight nod.
The last one to enter was Saitama, dressed in a cheap yellow uniform and wearing red gloves. He strolled leisurely into the conference room.
"Hey! Baldy, get out of the way!"
A spoiled, crisp, yet impatient voice rang out from behind Saitama.
Immediately afterward, a petite figure with green curly hair squeezed in, puffing out her cheeks – it was none other than the trembling Tornado.
She hovered in mid-air, arms crossed, her emerald eyes glaring at Saitama with displeasure: "Hmph, a mere B-rank dares to sneak into an S-rank meeting, what a thick skin!"
Saitama simply said "Oh," ignoring her sarcasm, and found an empty seat to sit down.
The tornado snorted and floated to its designated spot.
In this delicate atmosphere, the conference room door opened again.
Association executive Sitch, accompanied by two assistants, strode in with a stern expression.
He walked straight to the head seat, without any unnecessary formalities, his sharp gaze sweeping over every S-class hero present, especially lingering for a moment on the empty seats of Blast and Metal Knight.
"Gentlemen, time is of the essence, so let's get to the point."
Sitch placed his hands on the table, leaned forward, and an invisible pressure spread out. "We can't contact Blast and Metal Knight for now. We won't wait any longer. The meeting will officially begin."
He took a deep breath, his voice low and clear: "First, I must announce some unfortunate news: the great prophet, Lord Sibabawa, has passed away."
Most of the people in the conference room changed their expressions, some frowning, some surprised. Almost everyone present knew the name Shibabawa (except Saitama), whose prophecies had saved the world from greater disasters on many occasions.
"And what's even more serious is..."
Sitch's voice grew heavier, as if each word carried the weight of a thousand pounds, "Before she died, she left behind a final prophecy."
As he spoke, he suddenly slammed a crumpled piece of paper that he had been clutching tightly in his hand onto the smart desktop.
hum-
The conference table surface immediately lit up, and a beam of light was projected onto the note, magnifying its contents and clearly displaying them to each S-class hero.
Those were a few crooked, illegible characters, as if written with the last of their strength:
The Earth is doomed.
"All of Lady Sibabawa's prophecies have been fulfilled to date, one hundred percent of them!"
Sitch's voice was firm and authoritative, "She has accurately predicted several 'Dragon'-level disasters that caused massive casualties, but we have never seen her use words like 'the Earth is doomed'!"
He straightened up, put his hands behind his back, and said, word by word, "This means that, according to prophecy, Earth will face an unprecedented, far larger-than-'Dragon' level catastrophe within six months—a super catastrophe that could even lead to the destruction of all human civilization and the planet!"
He surveyed the entire room, looking at these powerful figures considered humanity's last bastion, and declared in a deep voice: "This is the sole reason the Association has summoned you all at all costs. We are facing what may be the most dangerous moment since the emergence of the monsters."
"Gentlemen, the burden of saving the world rests on your shoulders."
After the words were spoken, the conference room fell into a brief silence. Most of the heroes had serious expressions, but some seemed completely unconcerned.
However, this quiet period did not last long.
"They're here!"
Iai's deep and clear voice suddenly rang out, breaking the heavy atmosphere.
"What's here?"
Everyone looked in surprise at Iai, who had suddenly stood up and placed his hand on the hilt of his sword.
