Peninsula: A Max-Level Forward's Leisurely Life

Chapter 29: Internship with a Child and the Hidden Ticket to Heaven

Because Lee Ji-hoon's training schedule is relatively flexible, the team didn't schedule any high-intensity training today.

Last night's battle continued unsurprisingly until the Munich sky began to lighten. When the two opened their eyes again, the midday sun had already shone brightly through the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, bathing the soft bed in its warmth.

Amidst the disheveled bedding, those conspicuous, ambiguous marks of intimacy were as brazen as spoils of war.

Sulli was like a limp lump of clay, completely devoid of any backbone, slumped limply in the thick down comforter. She could barely lift a finger without straining to do so.

The girl bit her lower lip, mentally condemning this physically abnormal bastard man countless times.

This absurd physical exertion caused an outrageous thought to uncontrollably pop into her mind: Who could withstand this kind of physical exertion?!

Why not just let go and find a couple more new women to share the burden of this guy's firepower?! The moment this reckless thought popped into her head, she felt a pair of restless hands slip inside along the edge of the thin blanket.

Li Chixun had no idea what outrageous things this little peach was thinking.

Seeing her lost in thought, he naturally began to knead her hands in a punitive manner.

Choi Sulli was immediately brought back to her senses. Annoyed, she turned her head, opened her fair little mouth, and bit his neck hard without any threat.

This soft, yielding strength was actually incredibly alluring. Li Chixun wasn't angry at all; instead, he chuckled lightly, looking refreshed.

"You were born in the Year of the Dog, huh?" He ruffled her hair, his tone cheerful. "Get up quickly, I'll take you to replenish your carbs."

Without giving this frizzy peach any chance to complain, they scooped it up, blanket and all.

The two made a ruckus inside the house, then forced themselves to put on thick coats and walked out of the villa.

More than half an hour later.

They have already appeared in the open-air area near Plaza de Maria.

The early winter sun had a dry, chilly feel to it, and the air was filled with the distinctive aroma of German coffee and roasting.

Because of the intense activity last night, Choi Sulli's legs are still feeling weak involuntarily.

She was like a koala who had completely lost her balance, half of her body hanging directly on Li Chixun's right arm, slowly moving her feet on the bluestone pavement, holding a freshly baked warm alkaline bread in one hand.

She took small bites while rubbing her head against his shoulder in the most comfortable spot.

The girl was filled with a joyful feeling, as if she were experiencing a simple, ordinary happiness.

Just as the two were aimlessly enjoying this rare moment of time alone together...

A soft sob broke the tranquility by the fountain in the center of the square ahead.

An Asian girl, probably only eight or nine years old, wearing a pink princess dress, was sitting alone on a bench, wiping away tears.

Several kind-hearted German men and women gathered around. They were speaking rapidly in German, asking concerned questions and trying to offer help.

Unfortunately, the little girl couldn't understand these unfamiliar syllables at all, and could only cry harder and harder, appearing extremely helpless.

This was originally just an ordinary incident of getting lost on the street.

Until that Korean child's voice, thick with sobs, reached my ears.

Lee Ji-hoon and Choi Sulli exchanged a glance, then walked over together.

Lee Ji-hoon looked down at the little girl who was crying and hiccuping, and spoke directly in fluent Korean: "Little bean, you won't get candy if you cry here."

Nine-year-old Zhang Yuanying was on the verge of a complete breakdown due to her feelings of grievance.

Upon suddenly hearing familiar Korean, she immediately raised her chubby little face. After seeing the tall, mixed-race man in front of her, the little girl's inherent stubbornness miraculously overcame her fear.

She wiped her tears with the back of her hand while retorting crisply.

"I'm not that small, and I'm not called a little bean sprout at all!"

This feigned strength instantly touched Choi Sulli, who was standing next to her, and her long-suppressed maternal love overflowed like a flood.

"Hey, don't scare her." Choi Sulli slapped away her boyfriend, who was always unleashing his sharp tongue, with a hint of annoyance.

She took a mint from her bright yellow backpack, squatted down next to the bench, gently unwrapped it, and held it to the little girl's lips.

"Don't be afraid, have a candy. I'll stay here with you and wait for Mom and Dad, okay?" Her voice was soft and gentle, as if she were afraid of startling a frightened little rabbit.

The next half hour.

This casually organized internship team, tasked with taking care of children, simply settled down at a nearby open-air cafe.

Li Chixun leaned back in the woven rattan chair, holding a cup of black coffee, and looked at the two girls, one big and one small, opposite him with interest.

Zhang Yuanying was holding an enormous chocolate ice cream in her hands.

Her little mouth was covered in dark cream stains. She had long forgotten her earlier fear and was calling her "pretty sister" repeatedly.

Her sweet words were like honey, instantly making Choi Sulli smile broadly, and she happily stroked Choi Sulli's head.

But when the little girl turned her head, her eyes immediately changed to a wariness that didn't belong to her age when she looked at Li Chixun.

She quietly moved closer to Choi Sulli, her eyes fixed on the man opposite her.

"Pretty sister, he looks so fierce."

Zhang Yuanying, protecting the ice cream in her hands, whispered in Cui Xueli's ear, "Could he be one of those bad guys who uses candy to lure pretty girls off on the street?"

This innocent question from a child stood out remarkably clearly in the otherwise quiet coffee shop.

Lee Ji-hoon almost dropped the coffee cup in his hand.

Choi Sulli, who was sitting next to her, was stunned for a second before bursting into unrestrained laughter.

She was laughing so hard she almost cried, and she kept slapping the table.

"Yes, yes, yes! He's a super bad guy!"

Li Chixun put down his cup, speechless. Faced with this public slander, he wasn't angry at all; instead, he found the little boy's audacity quite amusing.

He stretched out his long arm and gave that plump, collagen-filled face a pinch without any hesitation.

The little girl immediately turned her head away in dissatisfaction and grumbled.

Not long afterward.

A series of hurried footsteps came from outside the coffee shop.

Sweating profusely, Zhang's father stumbled over, accompanied by two patrol officers.

Seeing his daughter sitting safely under the parasol eating ice cream, Mr. Zhang's tense nerves snapped, and his eyes reddened slightly.

His tall figure strode over in a few steps and pulled his daughter into a tight embrace.

After calming him down, he straightened his disheveled coat and prepared to bow deeply to thank the two kind compatriots.

But when his gaze suddenly fell on the face of the mixed-race man sitting at the table, who wasn't even wearing a mask.

As a seasoned football fan with over a decade of experience watching games.

The expression of gratitude on Zhang's father's face froze, and he instantly turned into a stone statue.

After a second of silence.

"Lee... Lee Ji-hoon?!" The exclamation, uttered in utter shock, came out without warning.

The voice was so loud that it attracted curious glances from several German passersby who were having coffee at nearby tables.

Lee Chi-hoon, quick-witted and agile, raised his right hand and decisively pressed it down in mid-air.

He stopped the other person from erupting into fanatical worship, his eyes displaying a calm reluctance to cause trouble. He pushed the empty coffee cup aside, stood up, and straightened his coat.

He casually pulled out a pure black, custom-made personal business card from his inside pocket.

The anonymous business card contained only a private contact number, its gold-embossed edges reflecting a dark gleam in the sunlight.

Li Chixun stuffed the business card directly into Zhang Yuanying's small hand, which was still covered in cream.

"Here you go." He then ruffled the head of the hostile little boy, displaying an unbridled domineering manner.

"If you want to become a star in the entertainment industry when you grow up, take this to Seoul and find your brother. It will ensure that you won't be bullied in that cutthroat world."

After saying this explanation.

Lee Ji-hoon completely ignored the expression on Zhang's father's face, which was so excited he was about to faint. He simply grabbed Choi Sulli's hand and turned to leave.

The two men, their figures concealing their achievements, quickly disappeared into the bustling crowds of Piazza Maria.

Zhang Yuanying was left holding her father's hand with one hand and clutching the somewhat stiff card with the other.

The little girl had no idea why that annoying old man had given her such a useless piece of paper.

Zhang's father, standing to the side, was trembling.

Others may not understand, but he knows it better than anyone else.

The seemingly ordinary black paper in his hand was clearly a ticket to success, enough to dominate the fiercely competitive South Korean entertainment industry.

The street corner on the other side of Piazza Maria.

Lee Ji-hoon and Choi Sulli strolled side by side, the air still carrying the relaxed afterglow of their act of helping others.

Just then.

[A high-potential S-rank bond partner has been detected; the hidden development side quest has been unlocked.]

A line of pale green, semi-transparent notification boxes, accompanied by a long-lost mechanical electrical sound, suddenly popped up on Li Chixun's retina.

The instant I saw this system message.

Li Chixun paused slightly, his brows immediately furrowing.

What the hell?! This supposedly hardcore football system in the world already forces people to bleed and sweat, but now it's even adding some weird side quests that involve raising and training characters?

Could it be that this Green Field System is planning to switch to fortune telling and palm reading?!

The absurd rant had barely finished swirling in his mind when he hadn't even had a chance to calmly examine this inexplicable hidden panel.

The phone, tucked in my coat pocket, suddenly vibrated violently, buzzing loudly in the cold air.

Li Chixun had just swiped the screen and pressed the answer button.

Thomas Muller’s signature anxious, loud voice burst out of the receiver.

"Leon, stop wandering around outside!"

The impatient voice was so loud that even Choi Sulli next to him could hear it clearly.

"Hurry back to the base, Pep is about to announce the starting lineup for tonight's game in the locker room!"

Here we go again.

Lee Ji-hoon sighed, took Choi Sulli's hand, and resignedly walked towards the base.
