Peninsula: A Max-Level Forward's Leisurely Life

Chapter 40 Sana's Shiba Inu's Protective Touch and Recognition

Inside the bar lobby, the girl in the yellow raincoat remained kneeling on the ground.

She clutched the bag of fried rice cakes tightly to her chest, her helmet askew, and rain dripped down the edge of her raincoat.

The scene was embarrassing, but her first reaction wasn't to cry out in pain. Instead, she looked up, her eyes red, and began to apologize.

"I'm so sorry!"

"I didn't mean to, the doorway was really slippery, sorry, really sorry..." He spoke haltingly in Korean, and when he got nervous, he would even blurt out a few Japanese syllables and English words.

He looked like a silly Shiba Inu that was soaked to the bone but was still wagging its tail to prove that it hadn't caused any trouble.

Choi Sulli was the first to squat down and reach out to support her arm.

"Get up first, did you hurt yourself?"

"No, no!" The girl quickly shook her head, her helmet almost falling off halfway down. She hurriedly reached out to steady it. "I'm fine, and the takeout wasn't all spilled."

Yoona looked at the bag of stir-fried rice cakes in her arms, her expression a little complicated.

"You've fallen like this, and you're still worried about stir-fried rice cakes?"

"Because these belong to a guest," the girl said softly.

"The guests have already seen you fall in," Lee Ji-hoon's voice came lazily from the phone screen. "And the guests don't really want to eat stir-fried rice cakes that have been tainted by the floor."

The girl then noticed a man on the phone screen on the bar, and was so startled that she almost bowed again.

Im Yoona quickly grabbed her shoulder. "Stop, don't bow anymore, you'll really fall a second time if you bow again."

Choi Sulli helped the person to sit down at the bar, then took out a dry towel from the cabinet and put it directly on the person's head.

"Dry your hair first."

The girl held the towel in both hands, blinking in surprise.

"Thank you, thank you unnie."

Liu Zhimin stood by the hot pot table, chopsticks in hand, frowning as she sized up the outsider who had suddenly barged in.

She was already wary of strangers, especially since this was the safe haven she had finally found last night. Now, with another woman who seemed even more confused than her suddenly appearing, she naturally wanted to observe her.

But as she stared, she saw the girl looking down at the water stains on the floor, her face growing increasingly flustered, and her eyes becoming redder and redder.

Liu Zhimin's lips twitched, but in the end, she awkwardly pulled a few tissues from the table and pushed them in front of her.

"Stop crying." Her tone was curt. "You didn't do the floor cleaning."

The girl looked up, clearly not having fully understood.

"Sorry?"

"I told you not to cry."

"Sorry?"

Ryu Jimin: "..."

Sulli burst out laughing and collapsed onto the bar. Yoona couldn't help but turn her head away, her shoulders shaking slightly.

Liu Zhimin's ears turned red, and she immediately turned her face away, pretending that she hadn't said anything.

Lee Chi-hoon watched the farce through the video, his hand holding the water glass frozen in mid-air.

"I now reasonably suspect that Leon's is no longer a bar."

"What's that?" Choi Sulli turned around and asked him.

"A refuge for minors and trainees."

He put down the cup. "In a couple of days, should I put up a sign on the door that says, 'Lost animals, please ring the bell?'"

"Oppa, don't be so sarcastic." Choi Sulli smiled and rubbed the towel around the girl's head again. "She's almost crying."

"I didn't cry," the girl quickly explained, looking up.

After she finished speaking, her eyes reddened even more.

Liu Zhimin muttered under her breath, "And she still says she didn't cry."

Lee Chi-hoon glanced at the security guard, Old Lee, beside him, his tone less joking.

"Find out which company she's a trainee from and why she's still working a food delivery job so late."

"Yes, boss." Security guard Lao Li nodded, turned around and went out to make a phone call.

The girl immediately tensed up when she heard the word "boss".

She quickly stood up from her chair and bowed frantically to Lee Ji-hoon on the screen.

"Boss, I'm sorry!"

"I really didn't mean to break in. I'll pay for the floor, the doorway, and... and the stir-fried rice cakes."

"Please sit down first." Li Chixun's brow twitched. "You don't need to pay for the floor. Have some hot pot to warm up first."

The girl's face turned even paler halfway through the conversation.

"Sit down and pay for the hotpot?" She almost bowed again. "Do I have to pay for the hotpot too? I'm sorry, I don't have that much money right now, but I can pay in installments..."

Sulli finally couldn't hold back and slapped her hand on the table while laughing.

"Hahaha, I can't take it anymore, she's so cute!"

Lim Yoona raised her hand to her forehead and quickly explained in an even slower voice, "I'm not asking you to pay for the hot pot, I'm asking you to sit down and eat the hot pot."

The girl paused for two seconds. "Eat...hot pot?"

Liu Zhimin leaned back in her chair and muttered to herself, "This older sister doesn't seem very bright."

"Oh, Jimin." Im Yoona glanced at her.

Liu Zhimin immediately lowered her head and drank her soup, pretending that nothing had happened.

Sulli was completely excited.

She pulled the girl to sit down at the table and then cleared her throat with great ceremony.

"From today onwards, I hereby declare the Leon's Bar Temporary Protection Association officially established."

When Lim Yoon-a heard the name, her expression immediately changed.

"What are you up to now?"

"I'm the president," Choi Sulli said confidently, raising her hand. "Because I'm the boss's wife."

Lee Chi-hoon on the screen raised an eyebrow but did not refute.

Sulli was satisfied and continued calling out names.

"Yoona unnie is the discipline committee member, responsible for preventing everyone from fighting, eating random things, and talking about strange adult topics."

Yoona looked at her expressionlessly.

"Thank you, I sound like a kindergarten teacher."

"Jimin is the representative of the victims of homework." Choi Sulli patted Yoo Jimin on the shoulder again. "She is mainly responsible for denouncing a tyrant who forces minors to do math problems."

Liu Zhimin nodded immediately. "I accept this position."

Li Chixun chuckled lightly, "It's no use even if you accept it, the test paper is still on the table."

Liu Zhimin's expression instantly fell apart.

Choi Sulli turned her gaze to the new girl and asked with a smile, "So, what's your name?"

The girl quickly sat up straight and placed her hands on her knees.

"My name is Minatozaki Sana." After saying that, she added, "You can also call me Sana."

"Okay, then Sana is the new member." Choi Sulli was very satisfied and reached out to help her take off the hood of her raincoat.

As soon as she took off her hat, the girl's slightly disheveled face, wet with rain, was revealed.

With slightly chubby cheeks, delicate features, but an incredibly vacant look in his eyes, a red nose, and hair plastered to the side of his face, he looked even more like a drenched Shiba Inu than before.

Sulli's maternal instincts kicked in, and she picked up her chopsticks, placed a piece of Korean beef in Sulli's bowl.

"Come on, new member, eat meat first."

Sana panicked immediately. "No, no, I'm just here to deliver food, I can't eat the customers' food."

"There are no guests here," Choi Sulli said very naturally. "It's just our own people."

After he said that, the table suddenly fell silent.

Liu Zhimin looked down at her bowl, her expression somewhat unnatural.

The phrase "one of us" felt somewhat foreign to her. Last night, she was still biting the back door handle in the rain, stubbornly insisting that she was just passing by.

Now, she has a bow in her hair, two senior girl group members sitting next to her, and a new, silly Shiba Inu opposite her.

Things are developing so fast that she's embarrassed to keep trying to act cool.

Liu Zhimin bit her chopsticks, and then quietly pushed the box of macarons in front of her a little closer to Sana.

The movement was subtle, but Choi Sulli noticed it. She immediately broke into a doting smile. Yoo Jimin instantly became alert: "What are you laughing at, unnie?"

"No," Choi Sulli drawled, "Our Jimin is so cool and gentle."

"I just felt that it was blocking my way."

"Mmm, blocking the way."

Sana didn't understand the two were arguing; she just carefully picked up a macaron and took a bite.

The moment the sweetness spread in her mouth, her eyes lit up.

"Absolutely fantastic!"

Liu Zhimin immediately frowned.

"That's not how you use 'Dafa' (a type of Chinese currency)."

"Isn't that right?" Sana looked at her blankly.

You should say it's delicious.

"A lavish meal?"

"tasty."

"Seven?"

Liu Zhimin took a deep breath, as if she had been forced to accept a language teaching assignment.

"Repeat after me, it tastes delicious."

Sana nodded earnestly: "Okay, seven."

Ryu Jimin: "..."

Sulli was lying on the table, laughing so hard she could barely stand. Yoona was also smiling and reached out to tap Sulli's forehead.

"How old are you? Why are you acting like an elder looking after your younger sister?"

"I'm the president now," Choi Sulli puffed out her chest. "Of course, the president has to take care of the association members."

"Your association sounds like a hastily organized fraudulent organization."

"Unnie!"

The atmosphere in the private room finally became lively.

Sana changed into a loose-fitting hoodie provided by the bar and sat at the hot pot table, sipping her soup. She was initially a little reserved, but after drinking the hot soup, she gradually relaxed.

The rain outside subsided, and the only sound inside the private room was the bubbling of the hot pot.

Yoona handed her a glass of warm water. "Why are you still delivering food so late? Doesn't the company care?"

Sana held the cup, looking a little embarrassed.

"It's not that the company is bad." She tried to organize her thoughts in Korean. "I'm a trainee, and my living expenses... are a little tight, but not terrible."

"It's not that we can't survive."

He quickly waved his hand, getting more and more anxious as he explained, "I just don't want to keep asking my family for money, and I don't want the company to think I'm a nuisance."

Towards the end, I realized that my expression was very disorganized, and I got so anxious that my ears turned red.

Yoona understood, and her gaze softened as she looked at the smiling girl in front of her.

"You mean, you're not without support, nor are you so short of money that you can't survive?"

"You just feel that now that you're a trainee, you want to rely on yourself as much as possible, right?"

Sana was stunned, then nodded vigorously.

"Here it is!

After listening, Liu Zhimin poked the tofu in her bowl with her chopsticks, her voice sounding somewhat annoyed.

"Trainee companies are all pretty much the same."

"They talk about nurturing dreams, but in reality, they can't even afford to give you a decent dinner."

Yoona glanced at her but didn't say anything, and this time, unusually, Choi Tao-ja didn't immediately make a joke.

She took the black privilege card out of her bag and gently placed it on the table.

Sana didn't understand what the card represented; she only felt that it looked expensive and intimidating.

Choi Sulli pointed at the card with her finger, her tone blunt and protective.

"If we really have nowhere else to go in the future, we'll eat here."

"But no one is allowed to deliver food in the rain this late at night."

She looked at Sana and said matter-of-factly, "My oppa doesn't lack money for food, and I don't lack a little sister."

Sana froze. Her lips moved, and her eyes darted around, looking like she was about to cry.

"Thank you..." Just as she was about to stand up and bow, Yoona pressed her back down again.

"Stop, stop, stop! If you keep patting it, the hot pot will get cold."

Liu Zhimin turned her face away and put the beef from her bowl into Shasha's bowl.

"I can't eat anymore," she said coldly. "It wasn't meant for you."

Sasha looked down at the beef in her bowl and nodded earnestly.

"Yes, I understand, it wasn't intentional."

Liu Zhimin's ears turned red again. Cui Xueli was laughing hysterically beside her.

On the other end of the screen, Li Chixun watched the whole process and gently tapped the sofa armrest with his finger.

He looked at Old Li, the security guard who had returned to the side.

"Contact a reliable driver and take her back to the JYP trainee dorm after the rain stops."

"Also, investigate her contracts and management situation."

"Don't alarm too many people. First, check if there are any messy debts, part-time job disputes, or internal exploitation issues within the company."

"Understood." Old Li nodded and left.

Yoona understood the meaning behind his words: this was no longer a simple matter of sending her back to her dorm; he was preparing to include Sana in his protection program as well.

Looking at the man on the screen, her feelings became complicated once again. Despite his sharp tongue, when it came to these stumbling young girls, he was quicker than anyone else to act.

I subconsciously glanced at Choi Sulli next to me. Peach is the same way. She looks carefree, but she will always be the first to reach out to someone who is getting wet in the rain.

It's true what they say, birds of a feather flock together; these two are incredibly friendly in some ways.

Choi Sulli, however, didn't think that much about it. She deliberately moved closer to the camera, puffing out her cheeks and pretending to be jealous.

"Oppa, there are more and more little sisters now."

"Is my girlfriend falling out of favor?"

Li Chixun glanced at her and saw right through her; she was just trying to be coaxed.

"You haven't fallen out of favor."

"What is that?" Choi Sulli immediately asked.

Lee Chi-hoon leaned back lazily on the sofa, his tone very serious.

"You've been promoted from peach to orchard director."

Choi Sulli paused for two seconds. The next second, she proudly puffed out her chest.

"Then I'll be the head of the Peninsula Girls Group from now on!"

Im Yoona burst out laughing. "Oh dear, this position sounds completely unreliable." Yoo Jimin nodded very honestly. Sana didn't quite understand, but seeing Yoo Jimin nod, she nodded as well.

Choi Sulli's eyes widened. "Hey! You two actually betrayed the chairman!" Just as Yoo Jimin was about to run away, Choi Sulli reached out and pinched her face.

"Cool and adorable Zhimin, weren't you nodding enthusiastically just now?"

"Ugh... Let go!"

Sana was still grinning foolishly sitting next to her, but she couldn't escape the clutches of evil the next second either. Choi Sulli turned her head and rubbed her slightly damp hair.

"And you, you stupid Shiba Inu, have you gone bad too?"

"I...I'm not a Shiba Inu," Sana protested softly.

"You are it."

"no……"

"that is."

"Oh well."

As Yoona watched this pointless argument, she smiled and picked up some beef from the hot pot. Lee Ji-hoon watched through the screen as the group of people in the private room started making a ruckus again, and a smile also appeared on his lips.

The rain in Seoul hasn't completely stopped yet.

But the lights on the second floor of Leon's bar were warm and bright, and the hot soup in the pot was still steaming. Several people who had never met before were brought together by a rainstorm.
