Marvel: Starting with Iron Man in the Apocalypse
Chapter 46 Data Integration
After the "Boundary" laboratory officially went into operation, Chen Haotian and Tony immediately threw themselves into the intensive work of data integration. This was not a simple matter of piling up data, but rather a matter of cross-comparing and verifying the technological systems from two completely different worlds, and exploring the possible complementarity and breakthroughs between them.
In the "Analysis" area at the center of the laboratory, several huge holographic projection screens floated in mid-air, displaying basic physical constants from the Marvel universe, materials science databases, energy application theories, as well as the gene sequence of the zombie virus brought back from The Walking Dead, the analysis of the biological structure of mutants, the preliminary property report of the void energy crystal, and the abnormal physical properties and weak magical fluctuation data of the mysterious DC metal fragment.
Tony, dressed in a simple white T-shirt stained with a bit of engine oil, stood with his arms crossed, brow furrowed, his gaze rapidly switching between different screens. "Jarvis, superimpose and compare the early energy confinement model of my Arc Reactor with the stable state of the spontaneous energy field of the Void Energy Crystal, focusing on the differences in their energy dissipation rates."
"Processing, sir," Jarvis's voice responded steadily. Soon, a complex energy flow diagram appeared on the new screen. The blue line representing the Arc Reactor's energy showed obvious fluctuations and a small amount of dissipation at the boundary of the confinement field, while the pale purple energy field representing the Void Energy Crystal exhibited a near-perfect inward-flowing cycle with a dissipation rate so low as to be almost negligible.
"Damn it..." Tony muttered under his breath, but his eyes shone with an astonishing light. "This thing's energy stability is ridiculously high, it's practically not a natural product. If we could replicate this energy field structure, even just partially, and apply it to a next-generation reactor..."
"Energy efficiency can be improved by at least 30%, and the size can be made smaller," Chen Haotian interjected. He was sitting at the control panel next to him, his fingers flying across the virtual keyboard, bringing up a series of complex bio-enzyme catalysis models. "Not only that, take a look at this." He projected the content on his screen onto the main screen.
That was a simulation of the reaction between the outer protein shell of the zombie virus and several common catalytic enzymes in the Marvel universe. The simulation results showed that the viral shell exhibited an unusually high "affinity" for certain enzymes, and could even guide these enzymes to carry out an unnatural, highly efficient catalytic reaction that would require extremely high energy and harsh conditions to trigger in conventional biochemistry.
"This virus... is it trying to 'exploit' the rules of our world?" Tony leaned closer to the screen, carefully watching the constantly repeating simulation. "Although its infectivity and replication capabilities are suppressed, this 'guiding' property of its outer shell... if we can strip away its harmful parts and retain only this catalytic property..."
"Theoretically, we can design a completely new bio-chemical hybrid catalyst." Chen Haotian snapped his fingers, a smile on his face that blended the focus of a top student with the confidence of a free spirit. "Applied to materials synthesis, drug preparation, and even the stabilization of certain high-energy fuels, it could bring about revolutionary technological innovations. The virus of the apocalyptic world might become a gold mine of biotechnology for us."
The idea excited both of them. Tony immediately ordered, "Jarvis, establish the sub-project 'Styx,' focusing on analyzing the catalytic mechanism of the viral shell, attempting harmless stripping and artificial simulation. Prioritize the use of biosynthesis module resources in the 'Furnace' zone."
"The sub-project 'Styx' has been established and resources are being allocated."
Next, their attention turned to the metal fragment from the DC Universe. Tony used Stark Industries' most advanced elemental analyzer and deep structure scanner to conduct an unprecedentedly detailed examination of the fragment. The results were both perplexing and fascinating.
"The physical properties are contradictory." Tony pointed to the analysis report. "Its atomic arrangement suggests that it should be extremely fragile, even capable of spontaneously disintegrating, but in actual tests, its hardness exceeds that of any known alloy, and it also has extremely high resistance to energy attacks. This violates the basic principles of materials mechanics."
"Because it may not follow the physical laws of our universe." Chen Haotian felt the faint pull of the runes in his body on the fragment. "Jarvis, try to make a fuzzy match between the energy fluctuation spectrum of the fragment and the magical energy characteristics of the Kamar-Taj lineage recorded in the database."
A moment later, Jarvis replied: "The matching degree is less than five percent, but there are some similar underlying resonance characteristics. More noteworthy is the detection of a very weak effect similar to 'information entanglement' inside the fragment, the mode of which is different from known quantum entanglement and more inclined to... some kind of cross-dimensional coordinate anchoring."
"Coordinate anchoring?" Tony astutely grasped the key point. "You mean, this fragment... might be a beacon? Or a key?"
"Very likely." Chen Haotian stood up and walked to the isolation cabinet where the fragments were stored, observing the inconspicuous piece of metal through the high-strength glass. "It comes from a world with a supernatural power system like 'magic.' The rules there are more... relaxed, or rather, more diverse. This fragment might be a creation of some higher law, and its very existence is an 'exemption' or 'coverage' of the physical rules of the Marvel universe."
He turned to Tony, his eyes deep: "Think about it, Tony. If we can understand, or even partially grasp, the principles of this 'law overriding,' we might be able to create truly 'indestructible' materials, or develop energy weapons that are not limited by conventional physics. This is no longer just a technological advancement, but touches upon... the underlying logic of the universe."
The prospect was too grand, even somewhat terrifying. Tony paused for a moment before slowly speaking, "The risks are far greater than researching a zombie virus. Manipulating the laws of nature... that sounds like a reason to invite the Ancient One over for tea."
"Risk and reward go hand in hand, dear brother." Chen Haotian smiled like a cunning fox. "Besides, aren't we already 'manipulating' the laws of space? Playing another one won't make much difference."
Despite his cautious words, Tony's actions revealed his true interest. He immediately instructed Jarvis to establish a sub-project called "Hephaestus," with the highest level of encryption, specifically to study the anomalous physical properties and potential law-related connections of the DC metal fragments, with all data directly synchronized with his personal private server.
In the days that followed, the "Barrier" laboratory became a true melting pot of technology. Advanced detection technologies and energy manipulation theories from the Marvel universe collided with anomalous biological samples and strange energy crystals from The Walking Dead, as well as law-based anomalies from the DC universe.
Some unexpected synergistic effects have begun to emerge:
By utilizing the improved energy transmission circuit based on the stable field characteristics of the void energy crystal, the background noise of high-precision instruments in the "analysis" region was reduced by 15%, significantly improving the accuracy of data analysis.
Based on a preliminary understanding of the catalytic properties of the zombie virus, Tony improved the biodegradation module of the laboratory waste treatment system, nearly doubling its processing efficiency.
Through repeated simulations and deductions of the "contradictory" physical properties of DC metal fragments, Jarvis unexpectedly optimized the structural stress model of several new armor materials that had been troubling Tony, and found a more efficient way to disperse energy.
These seemingly minor breakthroughs clearly point to one fact: the integration of different world technology trees has indeed brought about breakthroughs that could not be achieved by relying on the technology of a single world. This is no longer a simple 1+1=2, but rather a value-added effect like a chemical reaction.
Tony stood in front of the control panel, looking at the various collaborative research results compiled on the screen, and finally couldn't help but whistle: "I'm starting to think that your plan to collect trash across the world might not be so crazy, Haotian."
Chen Haotian was leisurely sipping the coffee Jarvis had just brewed for him according to his taste preferences when he heard this. He raised an eyebrow and smiled, "This is just the beginning, Tony. We've only touched two and a half worlds (The Walking Dead, DC fragments, and our own Marvel). The real treasures are waiting for us in those unknown dimensions."
The laboratory lights reflected the gleam in his eyes—a yearning for the unknown, and a confidence in his mastery. A torrent of data surged between servers, two exceptionally brilliant minds gradually piecing together fragments of wisdom from different universes into a grand blueprint beyond imagination. And all of this was built upon the initial results of integration; the possibilities for the future seemed endless.
