Chapter 27 Palm to Palm

Chen Mo looked down at Shen Jiayi's hand. Her fingers were long and slender, and her burgundy nail polish matched the shade of his lipstick. There was a faint scar on the back of her hand, almost unnoticeable unless you looked closely.

He turned her palm over and took it in his hand.

Shen Jiayi's fingers trembled slightly, then slowly tightened, gripping his hand.

Palms pressed together, the warmth and heartbeat flowed together.

"Your heart is beating very fast," Chen Mo said.

"You made me like this."

Chen Mo paused for two seconds, then released his grip and took out a black card from his wallet, placing it on the table.

Shen Jiayi was stunned: "This is—"

"Check out." Chen Mo stood up and picked up his car keys. "Then I'll take you somewhere."

Shen Jiayi met his gaze and understood what he meant but didn't say.

My face felt a little hot, but my eyes shone even brighter.

"Okay." She picked up her handbag. "Where to?"

"you guess."

Chen Mo smiled, turned, and walked towards the door. Shen Jiayi followed, her high heels clicking softly on the carpet.

Her heart was pounding, but she didn't hesitate.

As the two left the restaurant, the night breeze carried the dampness from the river.

The car stopped at the entrance, Chen Mo opened the passenger door, and Shen Jiayi got in.

He drove into the driveway. The car was quiet, with only the low hum of the engine and the sound of the air conditioning. No one spoke; a tense atmosphere spread through the silence.

Chen Mo held the steering wheel with one hand and rested the other on her leg.

Shen Jiayi didn't move, closing her eyes and leaning back in her chair. The warmth of his palm seeped through her stockings, like a tiny electric current.

Instead of driving to my accommodation, I parked the car in front of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

The doorman came up to open the door. Shen Jiayi opened her eyes, looked at the magnificent lobby, and smiled slightly.

"The Ritz-Carlton?" She turned to look at him. "You have a good eye for choice."

"For the first time, we have to choose a good place." Chen Mo turned off the engine and took out the key.

"First time?" Shen Jiayi raised an eyebrow.

Chen Mo didn't answer, but smiled. He got out of the car, handed the keys to the doorman, and went around to the passenger side to extend his hand.

Shen Jiayi glanced at it and placed her hand on it.

His hands are large and warm, and holding them makes you feel at ease.

The two entered the lobby and went straight to the front desk.

"A presidential suite," Chen Mo said calmly.

The receptionist paused for a moment, then quickly put on a professional smile: "Okay, sir, the price for one night in the presidential suite is—"

'

"Just swipe it." Chen Mo handed over the black card.

The receptionist took the key card with both hands, completed the check-in efficiently, and handed it back: "Fifty-eighth floor, have a pleasant stay."

The elevator went up. Shen Jiayi leaned against the wall of the elevator car and looked at him.

"A presidential suite, it must cost tens of thousands a night, right?"

"Eighty-eight thousand."

"Without even blinking."

"Why are you blinking?"

Shen Jiayi stared at him, a look of surprise and a touch of emotion flashing in her eyes.

"Chen Mo, there's no need to spend so much on me."

"Not for you." Chen Mo turned around, placed his hands on the walls of the carriage on either side of her, and looked down at her. "For myself. Tonight, I want the best."

Shen Jiayi's breathing became a little tight.

His breath brushed against her forehead, and he carried a faint fragrance. His eyes reflected her face.

"Chen Mo."

"Um."

"You are a really dangerous person."

"You already said that."

I'd like to say it again.

Why?

Shen Jiayi raised her hand and placed it on his chest, feeling his heartbeat: "I'm afraid that after tonight, I won't be able to control myself."

Chen Mo leaned down, his lips close to her ear, his voice low and deep: "Then don't hold back."

The elevator arrived, and the doors opened.

He led her to the suite at the end of the corridor. He swiped the door open and stepped aside to let her go in first.

The living room was spacious, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering a view of the city's nightscape, resembling an inverted Milky Way. Champagne and an ice bucket sat on the coffee table, and the bedroom door was open, revealing a round bed and silk robes.

Shen Jiayi stood in the middle of the living room, her shoulders trembling slightly.

Chen Mo closed the door, walked behind her, and put his hand on her shoulder.

"nervous?"

"A little." Her voice held a self-deprecating tone. "Isn't it ridiculous to be nervous at thirty-one?"

"It's not funny." His hand slid to her waist and gently wrapped around her. "It means you're serious."

Shen Jiayi closed her eyes and nestled into his arms, feeling a warm, firm touch beneath his shirt.

"Chen Mo."

"Um.

""

"Do you know why I was willing to come with you?"

Why?

"Because I feel that you are the kind of person who will not make me regret it."

Chen Mo was silent for a few seconds, then lowered his head and leaned close to her ear.

You won't regret it.

The voice was soft, but it sounded like a promise.

Shen Jiayi opened her eyes, turned around, and stood face to face with him.

They were so close that she could see every detail in his eyes. They were deep and bright, reflecting a warm light.

"Chen Mo."

"Um."

Kiss me.

The voice was soft, but it left no room for refusal.

Chen Mo lowered his head and kissed her.

Shen Jiayi's lips were soft and warm, carrying a faint scent of red wine and lipstick. Her breathing was rapid, and her body trembled slightly in his arms.

Chen Mo's hand slid across her waist and landed on her back. Shen Jiayi ran her hand through his hair, her fingertips gently brushing against his scalp.

The kiss lasted a long time.

Shen Jiayi first let go of him, leaned against his chest and breathed heavily, her cheeks flushed, her lipstick smudged.

"Chen Mo—" her voice was hoarse, "Do you know how long it's been since I've been like this?"

"how long?"

"Two years and three months." Shen Jiayi closed her eyes, a self-deprecating smile on her lips. "After my last boyfriend, I haven't touched anyone else. It's not that I didn't have the chance, it's that I didn't feel anything."

She opened her eyes and looked at him.

"But you're different. From the moment you put your coat on me last night, I knew you were different."

Chen Mo didn't say anything, but lowered his head and kissed her again.

This kiss was deeper and more passionate. His hand slipped under her skirt and touched the stockings on her legs.

Shen Jiayi's body tensed up suddenly, her fingers gripping his collar tightly.

"Chen Mo—" she murmured, "to the bedroom—"

Chen Mo scooped her up in his arms.

Shen Jiayi gasped softly, wrapped her arms around his neck, and buried her face in his chest.

Chen Mo placed her on the round bed. Shen Jiayi sank into the mattress, her long hair spread out. Her eyes were half-closed, the light from the crystal chandelier reflected in her pupils.

Chen Mo stood by the bed watching her. A black velvet dress was spread out on the bed, the hem rolled up to her thighs, revealing her long legs encased in black stockings. Her chest heaved, and her collarbone was clearly visible beneath the V-neck.

He leaned down, one hand supporting his ear, the other gently stroking her face.

"Shen Jiayi".

"Um."

"Look at me."

Shen Jiayi opened her eyes. In his eyes were desire, restraint, and a tenderness that made her heart flutter.

"After tonight," he said, emphasizing each word, "you might regret it."

"I won't." Shen Jiayi's voice was soft but firm. "I've said it before, you're not the kind of man I'd regret."

Chen Mo was silent for two seconds, then smiled.

He lowered his head and kissed her, no longer holding back.

The night view of Jiangcheng outside the window was as dazzling as a galaxy. The bed rocked gently, making a rhythmic sound. Shen Jiayi's voice echoed in the suite.

For the first time, Chen Mo clearly felt the power of [Charm Amplification]—he could accurately perceive every reaction of her body.

Shen Jiayi had no idea how many peaks she had experienced. Her consciousness fluctuated between lucidity and confusion before finally collapsing completely.

Chen Mo lay down beside her, put his arm around her waist, and gently stroked her hair.

The two of them breathed quietly.

It took Shen Jiayi a long time to recover. She turned over and buried her face in his chest.

"Chen Mo." Her voice was hoarse.

Chen Mo responded with a "Mm".

"Are you the devil?"
