Chinese professors at the Wizarding Academy
Chapter 4: Review and Insights – Grasp Both Sides, Hold Both Hands
Gu Chen sat on the creaking wooden stool. The wooden house was still cold. The high-hanging moon shone its light into the window, illuminating him and the sleeping Jim's face.
The tired student deserved a rest, and Gu Chen carried Jim to the only bed in the cabin.
The blanket kept the cold away from the exhausted and unconscious Jim, while Gu Chen, dressed in a tattered black robe, felt the joy in his heart dispel the chill that enveloped him.
The benefits brought by the mentor's talent are abundant.
Jim is only 4 spirit points away from becoming a junior apprentice.
Gu Chen himself has also fulfilled one-third of the first requirement for becoming a mid-level first-ring wizard:
"Master the spells derived from the three core spell models and raise them to the proficiency level."
Gu Chen had no intention of resting; time was precious. He stretched out his finger once more, tracing it through the air like a conductor, and magic responded to his call like a symphony orchestra…
He could clearly hear the throbbing of every blood vessel in his body, and not only his own, but also Jim, who was fast asleep in bed, could hear it clearly.
Blood flows to the heart and is then pumped to all parts of the body...
To Gu Chen at that moment, this was the most beautiful music.
[Mental Strength Aptitude: Six-Star (after drop)]
[Core spell model already built: Blood Drain]
[Spell Mastered: Blood Drain (Mastery)]
[Special Talent: "Mentor"]
Gu Chen's gaze swept across the panel, then locked onto the words "Blood Extraction (Mastery)".
He had just used his analysis points on this one and only spell he had mastered. The spell, which clearly required learning with various materials and needed either innate talent or arduous practice, was perfectly mastered in an instant!
"Resolution points are really great..."
Having personally experienced the wonders of the analytical points provided by the teaching and learning talent, and having witnessed such rapid progress, Gu Chen was deeply impressed and naturally wanted to acquire more analytical points.
"What if I use analytical points to analyze 'Basic Meditation Method'?"
"This book can be said to be an essential guide for all wizards, and there is a great deal of research on it. Basically, everything that needs to be said is written in the book, but..."
Gu Chen clearly remembered the description of "teaching and learning go hand in hand". The knowledge after analysis can be deeply understood and perfectly mastered if there are enough points to analyze.
Those geniuses with exceptionally high mental aptitude all started by mastering the "Basic Meditation Method," while Gu Chen, despite his talent, couldn't fully grasp it.
but……
He can directly force the analysis and bypass this hurdle!
"Analysis of 'Basic Meditation Method'"
With a thought, Gu Chen caused the blue light screen to reappear, and the words "Insufficient Analysis Points" came into view.
I really didn't have any points to explain; it was an expected answer.
But Gu Chen's face still showed a smile, because there was another sentence on the panel.
[Analysis requirement: 3]
"That way we'll know how many times we need to teach Jim."
Gu Chen sat at the table, arms crossed, his fingers tapping rapidly on his arms once more.
His brain was working at lightning speed.
"But we can't put all our eggs in one basket by analyzing the basic meditation techniques... Even if we fully understand them, we might still get stuck due to a lack of talent."
"I've seen many students like this. They completely understand the theory behind the math problem and the thought process behind it, but they just can't write it out."
Gu Chen's brain had memorized the "Basic Meditation Method" perfectly, but he still couldn't focus his mind.
I've been trying it for a month, and it's completely useless.
"The talent of a sixth-rank star after the decline is too poor. The difference between each star rank is exponential."
Throughout history, third-magnitude stars have been considered by wizards as the dividing line between genius and mediocrity, and those with this rank are generally considered to be qualified wizards.
Originally a fourth-rank star, it finally advanced by forcibly constructing a core spell model through the blood wizard's sacrificial talent, thus meeting the conditions for a high-level apprentice to become a first-ring low-level wizard.
But after the decline, his sixth-rank talent... to put it bluntly, he's not even a Muggle anymore, let alone a bad one.
"We still need to focus on both ends, to improve our talents and to gain more spiritual power."
"Whether it's the Blood Wizard's talent advancement ritual, or enhancing one's understanding of the 'Basic Meditation Technique'..."
"One is to get Jim promoted to apprentice and obtain the apprentice's blood as material for the talent advancement ritual, and the other is to obtain analysis points."
"To put it simply, it's all the same."
"We still need to obtain the analysis points."
"We're going to teach Jim!"
Gu Chen's gaze fell on Jim, who was sleeping soundly on his only bed, and a hint of expectation flashed in his eyes.
The facts just proved that Jim is definitely not a good-for-nothing; he just lacked a mentor.
Discover talent and teach according to aptitude!
"The lesson just now must have taken a lot out of this child, but thankfully he's asleep now."
"The best way to deal with unconsciousness under high pressure is to wait for him to gradually recover on his own..."
"Then replenish your energy with food, and it would be even better if you had supplements or medications."
"There should be some food."
Gu Chen thought for a moment, then opened the drawer, and...
"Clatter!"
With a muffled thud, a dark, whole thing fell to the ground.
The sound of it falling was quite dull and heavy, like a solid iron ball hitting the ground.
Gu Chen stared at the black thing for a long time before he realized what it was.
This was the first meal Grey Tower Academy sent me when I first enrolled; it must have been sitting there for a year.
"Uh, black bread..."
"When was the last time I ate out...?"
Gu Chen was speechless. He then remembered that although the food at Gray Tower Academy was provided free of charge, it was based on the level of talent. Before his talent declined, he was a 4th-level star, and his meals consisted of meat every two or three days. Naturally, he looked down on this black bread.
Once you become a wizard, you will be very different from when you were an apprentice. Even a low-level wizard can directly absorb magic power and greatly reduce the need for food, and hardly need to eat at all.
Gu Chen himself basically didn't need to eat when he was at Gray Tower Academy.
So the black bread just sat there.
"..."
"How can we eat black bread like this..."
Gu Chen squatted down and poked the dark lump with his finger. The feel of it told him that it was a brick.
His lips twitched, and he looked exasperated.
Is this bread meant to be eaten or used to hit someone?!
