Bizarre Survival: Starting from the Fake Human Community
Chapter 17 Tense Discussions
"Cough cough... People with cold constitutions need to be nourished!"
Chen Chao pretended nothing had happened and continued talking to himself. After that, the meeting proceeded as normal.
The final decision made by the group was to take the initiative and launch a night raid on the underground parking garage.
Wang Su was very enthusiastic: "First of all, I know that no one trusts me, but I am actually a very trustworthy person. This time, I will take the lead."
"Su Ming, don't hesitate to use your lighter. This is it, or it won't. As for the others..." Wang Su smirked, his gaze sweeping over the group with a menacing look, "You lot can at least lend a hand and keep watch behind you, right?"
Hearing that they wouldn't have to be at the forefront, some people breathed a sigh of relief, like Zhou Zheng and his companion: "Don't worry, we'll handle the auxiliary tasks!"
"Hey guys, are you sure you don't want me to sit in the front row?" Chen Chao didn't back down. He stood up, struck a fit pose, and asked seriously.
"Don't let my appearance fool you, your brother Chao is actually quite a fighter!"
Su Ming understood this best; the historical impression of the fake man who was blown to the head with a single punch was still vivid in his mind.
"If Brother Chao is coming, I'll naturally support him wholeheartedly! But you, Wang Su, are you going to lead the charge? Are you willing to use your dice?" Su Ming didn't care and directly confronted him.
Wang Su has learned from past mistakes and must be wary.
"Hmph!" Wang Su sneered, "Killing the fake Human King is certainly worthwhile! But..."
"I have conditions!" Seeing the change in everyone's expressions, Wang Su spoke first. "Don't rush to refuse. I'm willing to help, but I've sacrificed so much; asking for a prop isn't too much to ask, is it?!"
He set his conditions, after all, the side effects were there, and it was better not to put in any effort than to do it for nothing; that was his bottom line.
"Well, you've got some nerve! I told you you were a scheming bastard! Now you're not even pretending anymore, you're just laying your cards on the table!" Wen Wan pointed at Wang Su, who immediately launched into a tirade against them. This was something even the good-natured Wen Wan couldn't let go of.
"What's your rush? I didn't say you had to have your own. I know you're not the only ones with props. Can't you pool your resources and spare one? If you want the horse to run, don't you want to laugh at yourself?" Wang Su retorted.
"You!" Su Ming pulled back Wen Wan, who was glaring angrily, and glanced at the crowd. Some people looked away when he saw them, some seemed conflicted, while Li Mo maintained his smiling expression...
"I'll give you the lighter, but only after you clear the level." Su Ming sighed silently. When it comes to one's own interests, it's like cutting flesh for anyone.
Wanting to complete the game without spending any money is unrealistic. Su Ming didn't want to give anything either, but someone with the guts had to step forward and make the decision.
"Why didn't you do this sooner? Su Ming, I told you you'd come looking for me, haha!" Wang Su's face revealed visible pleasure. "See? Nobody stood up for you except me!"
"My suggestion still stands. The two of us can team up to take down the others, and we can split the items in half! Taking down the fake King is not a dream!" Wang Su grinned wickedly, his eye patch barely concealing his dark, empty eye sockets.
"Hey buddy, that's not how it works!" Chen Chao chimed in, seeing things weren't going well. "Is this prop absolutely necessary? Or you could stand in the back and probably not use it. If we all team up, we might be able to do it!"
"Whatever, if you think it's okay, then I'm okay with it." Wang Su shrugged. "Anyway, I'll still take action in the end, so if you know what's good for you, hand over the props!"
"You!" Chen Chao's muscles tensed. "This won't do, that won't do, are you trying to drive everyone to a dead end?"
"Since that's the case, I'll get rid of you, you scourge, right now!" A savage glint flashed across Chen Chao's face.
"Come on, let's see who's tougher!" Wang Su swept her red hair back, exuding an air of wickedness.
Zhou Zheng's face was filled with struggle. Since he had already received a favor, it was better to let him step forward. Wang Le tugged at his sleeve, then shook his head.
"That's enough! Have you all forgotten why you came here?" Su Ming cursed angrily, and everyone fell silent.
"I didn't cause any trouble today!" Wang Su said innocently, spreading her hands.
"Since Brother Su has spoken, I'm not going to argue with you!" Chen Chao also clenched his fist.
Su Ming has both strength and righteousness, so everyone gives him face.
Wang Mang, as the ringleader, watched the entire farce unfold, his somewhat grayish eyes gleaming: "Calm down, calm down! Harmony is the most important thing!"
"As the leader, it's my fault for failing to set a good example for everyone." Wang Mang lowered his head voluntarily, adopting a very humble posture.
"Didn't you want a prop? Here, take this!" Wang Mang opened his hand, and a nimble, mechanized flying insect landed on Wang Su's shoulder. "You can probably guess its function, so I won't go into details. As for the side effects, using it too much will blind you!"
Wang Mang looked at Wang Su, who had lost half an eye. It wasn't that he was targeting him; half an eye was still usable, and as long as it was usable, that was fine.
"You're smart to know what's good for you!" Wang Su smiled. Even a mosquito, small as it may be, is still meat. Not as fun as Su Ming, but still somewhat useful. "I'll make a move this time, I guarantee it!"
"I'll have to trouble you then!" Despite saying that, Wang Mang's gaze was fixed on Su Ming. "Don't look at me like that. You shouldn't have been the one to suffer."
"Su Ming, I knew I hadn't misjudged you!" Without the props, Wang Mang seemed quite happy. There's nothing wrong with relying on others, as long as you follow the right person.
Su Ming is the kind of person you should rely on; my small investment is practically guaranteed!
Six o'clock in the evening.
Eight people gathered in the underground parking garage below the garden.
Su Ming held a kitchen knife in his right hand and stroked the patina of a lighter in his left, while Wen Wan gripped a dagger and followed behind.
Wang Su stood at the front, looking fearless, and occasionally flashed a neurotic smile.
Li Mo stood at the edge of the crowd, hands in his pockets, a smile on his face.
Su Ming noticed that Li Mo's position hadn't changed since he came in. He stood neither forward nor backward, neither participating in the discussion nor observing his surroundings. He just stood there, like a tree planted there.
He followed everyone else wherever they went, a silent man like his name.
"Let's refresh ourselves and then we'll go!" Su Ming reassured everyone, letting them take a quick break to be in top condition.
"Here, your body can't take it if you don't eat or drink!" Su Ming walked beside Li Mo and handed him a few sugary snacks and a bottle of water.
"Thank you, but I can't eat!" Li Mo smiled and waved his hand in refusal.
Su Ming didn't insist. He walked away and had a quick bite with the others to replenish his energy.
The underground parking garage lights were different from the bright white lights in the residential complex; they were dim yellow fluorescent tubes. The glass enclosure was broken, and people occasionally made a cracking sound as they walked on the ground.
The entire basement was filled with a stench, like the smell of a long-dead rat.
"The monster is over there." Wang Su pointed with his chin into the depths of the underground parking garage. In the darkness, a huge outline could be vaguely seen, like a lump of rotten flesh that had been decaying for more than ten days, occasionally wriggling.
"The fake King is just ahead. Follow me closely, I'll lead the way!" Thinking of this, Wang Su licked his chapped lips, his heart filled with excitement.
After saying that, he added a sentence to Su Ming:
"Su Ming, you know what you're supposed to do. Get your lighter ready!"
