Full-Time Magister: Dark Throne

Chapter 5 Orange Alert

"Uh, sorry. I mean, I'll take care of all the other tasks except for these few."

The tasks of hunting demons and collecting items might be difficult for others, but for He An, who was about to have a demon squad, it was a completely different story.

"I'm sorry everyone, I'm a bit short on cash lately. If any of you have any life-threatening situations or urgent financial needs, feel free to talk to me, and I'll allocate a few low-difficulty tasks to you."

He An clasped his hands together and sincerely apologized to everyone in the Hunter's Hall.

"Arrogant!"

"arrogant!!"

"Overestimating yourself!!!"

The three veteran hunters who had just commented on He An's codename simultaneously turned ashen-faced and began to curse.

"Is Mr. Shadow King truly capable of accepting all missions?"

A bystander raised his question at the opportune moment.

Everyone around turned to look at the receptionist, waiting for her answer.

"I'm sorry, everyone. Since the Hunter's Alliance was founded, there has never been such a... such a... um, unique hunter before. The rules do not limit how many missions a hunter can take on at the same time."

"So, this hunter can take on these missions all by himself."

The receptionist struggled to come up with a friendly adjective and lowered her head in embarrassment under everyone's gaze.

After saying those two sentences, my face was so hot I could fry an egg on it.

On that day, everyone in the Hunter Alliance fell into a long silence as they stared at the large LCD screen that read "Acceptor: Shadow Monarch".

-----------------

At Xuefeng Mountain Station, a strong and powerful hand roughly pushed open the gate of the watchtower.

The howling wind and snow outside suddenly found a breakthrough, wanting to completely engulf the small watchtower standing on the mountaintop.

The newcomer simply shrugged his shoulders, and a cluster of nimble flames leaped from his body, swirling around him.

In the blink of an eye, the blizzard that was about to pour in turned into raindrops, which fell softly.

"Boss Zhan Kong, come have a drink! This weather is really strange. We haven't seen a single snowflake in Bo City for years, and now it's snowing."

Inside the room, four or five burly officers were warming themselves around a stove. The imposing officer sitting in the main seat greeted the newcomer loudly.

Zhan Kong took off his military jacket and casually hung it on the hook on the left, then turned and gazed at the bustling Bocheng behind the Xuefeng Mountain Post Station.

"No, I've only been in office for a short time and this strange snow has already fallen. I need to be careful not to cause any trouble."

The distant city was hidden in the howling wind and snow, with only the warm light from the city center able to penetrate the mountains and offer a last bit of comfort to the restless soul.

Ever since he noticed the traces of dark magic appearing near the corpse of the one-eyed wolf, he had been filled with unease.

I always felt that an invisible hand was quietly reaching out to this harmonious and peaceful little town, trying to pull it into a vortex of chaos.

"Hey, with a high-level mage like you around in Snow Peak Mountain, what trouble could possibly arise? Which fool near Bo City would dare to provoke you?"

The burly officer burst into hearty laughter, as if he had heard a clever joke.

"Whoosh~~~~~"

A bright ball of light broke through the wind and snow from behind the mountains, stubbornly emitting a faint glow in the dim sky.

Radiance?

Zhan Kong's already bad expression turned completely gloomy.

problem occurs!

This is a basic light-based spell, used by military mages to transmit location and information.

The highest magic associations of the five continents divide this warning signal into five levels, with one radiant light representing the lowest level, orange warning.

This means that there are at least three hundred demons roaming around the security zone of Bo City, and there are probably even demons at the warrior level among them!

I've only been transferred here from the Southern Military Region for a short time, and this is supposed to be a show of force to me!

"Damn it! I shouldn't have believed your nonsense! You jinx! When I get back, I'll throw your grandson into a wolf's den to fend for himself!"

Zhan Kong cursed as he put on the coat he had just taken off, then spread his blue wind wings and plunged into the swirling snow.

"Issue an orange alert! Notify the Bo City Magic Association and the Hunter's Alliance to conduct a joint alert. All personnel at Snow Peak Mountain Station are on alert. Also, notify Teams Three and Four to proceed to the signal location to assist Boss Zhan Kong in eliminating the demons!"

The burly officer, who had been drinking, immediately smashed his glass on the ground.

He stood up and calmly issued a series of clear instructions, completely different from the arrogant drunkard he had been just moments before.

"Pah! Hang in there, it'll be fine once Boss Zhan Kong arrives! He's a high-level fire mage, one powerful punch from him will turn these little wolf cubs to ashes."

The military mage, who had just unleashed a burst of light, spat out a mouthful of snowflakes and loudly encouraged his teammates.

However, these verbal reassurances are not very effective.

The wolves had surrounded them from time to time, and the dark blue tide had submerged the once white snow.

More than three hundred demonic wolves on the surrounding hillsides stared at the few dozen weak humans with their scarlet eyes.

The gaping maw of the blood-red basin, dripping with saliva, opened slightly, and its foul-smelling breath instantly turned into white mist that enveloped the surrounding area.

They are not only at a significant disadvantage in terms of numbers, but they are also located at the most vulnerable bottom of the mountain!

"Damn it, when did these wolves become so intelligent?"

The leading military strategist, Chen Ming, launched into a tirade of curses.

He was a veteran military mage from Bo City, and had clashed with these wolf packs more than once or twice. But today, these wolves, who knew how to lure the enemy in but were extremely frenzied, really opened his eyes!

"Splash~ Splash~"

The tips of the branches were quickly trampled, and the snow on the treetops was flung off by the shaking branches.

In the blink of an eye, a crimson wolf as tall as a three-story building leaped to the top of a pine tree not far away; it was the king of these three hundred-plus wolves.

"Ugh!!!"

It raised its two front legs, revealing the snow-white fur on its lower abdomen, and stood half-bowed. The three eyes on its ferocious head shone with a bloodthirsty red light, and it let out a mournful howl towards the direction of Xuefeng Mountain Station.

That was the order to attack!

The battle has begun!

"Ugh! Ugh!!"

"Ugh...uhhhhhh~~~"

"Ugh ho ho ho ho!"

The howling sounds rose and fell, echoing among the mountains.

The wolf pack responded to their king's call, howling as they launched an attack on the humans at the foot of the mountain. The dark blue wolf tide spread out across the hillside.

The moment the battle began, the experienced Chen Ming had already established a connection with the star system.

With a wave of his right hand, a small ball of fire was thrown into the charging wolf horde.

"Try this!"

"Sizzle & Burst!"

With a loud shout from Chen Ming, the previously quiet and peaceful little ball of fire suddenly exploded, bursting into a burst of intense flames.

The wolves within a three-meter radius were all affected by the explosion; their dark blue fur was stained with orange-red flames, and they let out miserable howls.

Unable to withstand the scorching flames, they could only lie on the ground, allowing their charging brethren to trample over them.

By the light of the fire, Chen Ming inadvertently discovered several unusual wolf beasts.

They stood atop another mountain not far away, their bodies covered in dark purple patterns, adding a touch of mystery to their appearance in the snowy night.

The lead wolf was even larger than the crimson wolf king, and its body was shrouded in swirling smoke.

A boy dressed in black sat on its broad back, his upper body hidden in the shadows of the trees, his face obscured.

Seemingly noticing Chen Ming's gaze, she also looked over at him.

The moment their eyes met, Chen Ming was stunned.

The boy's eyes seemed to hold an endless galaxy!
