Chapter 129 Southern Alliance

Chapter 129 Southern Alliance

In the spacious room, Radel, holding an iron cane, slowly walked out, his figure receding from Adir's sight.

Standing there, looking at what he held in his hands, Adir nodded: "Although I lost two Golden Leaf petals, it's still worth it to get these things in return."

He had just made a deal with Radel. In exchange for the two gold leaves that Adir had given, Radel had paid a hefty price.

Leaving aside some advanced knowledge about bloodline modification, the most important thing is a document on enchanted runes that can be used for research.

Under normal circumstances, this is advanced knowledge that is difficult to obtain, but now it can be exchanged for two pieces of golden leaves, which is a very worthwhile trade for Adir.

"After we get back, we'll study the information on enchanting runes again, and hopefully we can put it into practice immediately."

Standing still, Adir thought to himself, "Although I'm used to the Black Rui longsword, it's become less and less useful after I reach the third-level apprentice level. It's necessary to upgrade it."

The weapon he was using was the Black Steel Longsword that Count Poria had given him when he was promoted to knight. The entire blade was made of Black Steel, which was a very good weapon for ordinary knights or even great knights, but it was not considered a good thing in the eyes of wizards.

After all, Black Steel, a material extremely rare in the eyes of mortals, is merely a basic alchemy material in the eyes of wizards. A few magic stones can buy a lot of it in the academy, so it is not considered anything special.

The reason he kept using this weapon was twofold: firstly, it was easy to use, and secondly, Adir simply couldn't find a better weapon to replace it.

In the wizarding world, enchanted weapons are even rarer and more precious than ordinary enchanted items. Even if you occasionally see them in the academy, Adir would not be able to afford them unless he sold everything he owned.

"Perfect timing. This voyage will take at least another month, which will give us plenty of time to study this information."

After standing there for a moment and thinking it over, Adir also left the room and returned to his own.

Several days passed quickly.

Several days later, the ship arrived at another port.

Upon arriving here, Adir and his two companions each had different destinations and would soon have to part ways.

Adir and Radel are traveling together, both heading towards the Bar Islands. Clady, on the other hand, is going by boat to some islands to the south, seemingly to investigate something.

They exchanged each other's marks and approximate addresses, preparing to contact each other again in the future, and then they parted ways, heading in different directions.

The ship continued its journey, moving far away from the port.

A month later.

In the early morning, the sea breeze blew gently, carrying a unique fishy smell.

"Adir, we're almost there. How's it going?"

Standing quietly on the deck, Radel's voice came from behind me.

Behind Adir, Radel, dressed in a white robe and holding an iron cane, looked much better and younger than before.

"well enough."

Looking at Radel approaching from behind, Adir spoke softly, "I left the Bar Islands when I was very young, so I don't have much of a feeling for this place."

"And you? How do you feel?" He asked Radel, standing still.

"Just some sentimental thoughts." Radel walked silently to Adir's side and said with some emotion, "I left here when I was twelve, and it's been almost thirty years now. I've spent less than three years in my hometown; most of the time I've been away from home."

"That's normal." Adir nodded. "I've heard from other wizards that resources are scarce in this area, so it's understandable that you're not staying here."

"That's true." Radel nodded with deep feeling as he listened to Adir's words: "The Bar Islands are really too barren. There isn't even a single resource point, and the surrounding wizards are pitifully few."

Upon hearing Radel's words, Adir, standing still, suddenly thought of the Ancient Armored City.

"That must be what it looks like," he thought to himself, gazing at the endless ocean ahead.

They stood there and chatted for a while before turning back and walking towards their respective rooms.

Two days passed quickly. One midday, the ship slowly began to dock, arriving at a harbor.

Upon arriving at this point, Adir and Radel disembarked from the ship and slowly walked away into the distance.

In the distance, after spotting Adir and Radel, a large group of people were rapidly approaching.

"Radil!!" A shout came from afar.

In the crowd, a man of medium build wearing a linen robe walked quickly toward Radel.

"Kage, long time no see!!"

Seeing the person walking quickly towards him from a distance, Radel smiled, walked forward quickly, and gave the person a hug.

"Haha! It's been so long! It's been more than three years since you last came back, hasn't it?"

Ahead, a middle-aged man named Keg looked at Radel and smiled.

"There's no other way. It's too far from the southern continent, and it's too much trouble to get back here."

Hearing what the other person said, Radel gave a wry smile and looked at them to explain.

"Come on, let me introduce you." After a while, he pulled Keg to Adir's side and said to the two of them with a smile.

"This is Adir, just like us, an apprentice who came from here," he explained, looking at Keger.

Upon hearing Radel's words, Keger turned around and shifted his gaze to Adir.

He was stunned for a moment. In an instant, his spiritual power sensed the unique and undisguised magical power fluctuations emanating from Adir, which clearly indicated that Adir had reached the level of a third-class apprentice.

Sensing this, and seeing Adir's youthful appearance, he was somewhat surprised, then a very warm smile appeared on his face: "Welcome back to your homeland!"

"Thank you." Seeing the warm smile on the other person's face, Adir gave a polite smile and said.

After introducing Adir, Radel turned to Keig: "This is Keig, also a third-class apprentice."

"He is an elder of the Southern Kingdoms Alliance and also the patriarch of a local wizarding family. If you need anything here in the future, Adir, you can always ask him for help."

"Speaking of which, Adir, your family should also be located in one of the southern kingdoms, right?" After a pause, Radel continued, "In that case, you can be considered a wizard born in one of our southern kingdoms, and you are perfectly capable of serving as an elder in the Southern Alliance."

"Southern Federation?" Adir asked with some confusion upon hearing this somewhat unfamiliar term.

"The so-called Southern Alliance is an alliance of southern countries, and it's basically backed by some local wizard families." Looking at Adir, Radel shrugged: "You know, in fact, the royal families of many countries are basically wizard families."

"Joining this alliance and serving as an elder won't impose too many restrictions on you. On the contrary, it will make it easier for you to leverage the alliance's power to obtain resources, which will not only help you integrate into the local wizarding community but also greatly benefit your family."

"If that's the case, then it's something we can consider," Adir said after standing there for a moment and thinking.

Organizations like the Confederate States of America sound rather loose, and if the conditions were right, Adir wouldn't mind joining one.

After all, he has now left the academy and will need to find many resources on his own. If he can integrate into the local wizarding community, it will undoubtedly be more convenient.

"We'll discuss the specific regulations later."

Standing to the side, Keger smiled and interjected, "As for now, let's enjoy the banquet we've prepared for you."

After saying this, he addressed the two of them and then walked ahead to lead the way.

"Elder Radel!" Several voices rang out from ahead.

Among the welcoming party at the front, several people dressed in fine clothes, who looked like nobles, walked up to Radel and said respectfully.

Radel simply nodded in response, appearing quite indifferent and showing none of the enthusiasm he displayed when he was with Adir and the others.

After walking quietly for a while, they boarded a carriage and arrived at a manor deep in the harbor.

As they entered the manor, several nobles walked in from the side. When they saw Radel and Keig, their expressions were extremely respectful, showing no trace of aristocratic arrogance.

"Who is that person?" a soft voice came from the side.

Silently following Radel and Keger, Adir walked calmly through the middle of the road, appearing composed and natural.

He was already quite handsome, and now, dressed in a moon-colored robe, he stood calmly and composed in the center of everyone's view alongside the other two, immediately drawing the attention of those around him.

"Could they be a descendant of Elder Radel and Elder Keg?"

Nearby, someone noticed Adir standing next to Radel and Keger and couldn't help but speculate.

"Have you ever seen any junior dare to stand shoulder to shoulder with Elder Radel and Elder Keg?" came a rebuttal from beside me.

Upon hearing this, the surrounding nobles all nodded.

The aristocratic class has its own set of etiquette. The nobles present who were qualified to greet Radel were mostly high-ranking nobles, and they attached great importance to this aspect.

On the central road ahead, Adir walked side by side with the other two, which, to some extent, signified that Adir's status was no lower than theirs, and that they were equals.

"Could it be..." As if they had thought of something, the surrounding nobles' eyes lit up, and their gazes toward Adir became somewhat ardent.
