Chapter 622 The One Favored by Fate
Chapter 622 The One Favored by Fate
"Yaso Bakuru, a baron from the Kingdom of Tamru, a young silver knight?"
Walking in the courtyard, Mar carried a long pair of scissors in her hand, trimming the branches of the roadside trees with a calm smile on her face, while thinking to herself.
Only two days had passed since Wendy rescued her.
Within two days, the woman was able to get out of bed, and in this short period of time, she also became familiar with the servants in the manor, thus learning some information.
Because she was a woman all alone, and because Wendy had personally rescued her, the manor's butler temporarily assigned her a job as a maid, tending to the flowers and plants in the courtyard.
Surprisingly, Mar's skills in trimming flowers and plants were quite good. Although she couldn't compare to professional workers, she was still much better than the average maid.
Standing in the courtyard of the manor, quietly pruning the flowers and plants in front of her, Mar looked very focused, as if she cherished this hard-won job.
Occasionally, some maids would pass by on the road. When they passed by, she would stop what she was doing and greet them with a smile.
Although she is not good-looking and has an average figure, her cheerful smile and earnest personality are enough to make people like her more.
And so she lived quietly in the manor until the twilight of that day.
As the sun slowly set and the surrounding lights gradually came on, the sound of horses' hooves began to rise from the outside, attracting Mar's attention.
Hearing the sound, she put down her work and looked out carefully.
At this moment, all the power within her body was gathering. Because of the severe injury she had suffered, her remaining divine power was being sublimated, raising her vision to its highest level, enough for her to see everything around her clearly.
"Let me see...the changing of fate..."
Amidst cheers, she looked out.
Outside the courtyard, a group of servants were gathered, with maids standing there to welcome the manor's owner back.
At the center of the crowd, a young knight dressed in a long robe slowly rode his horse into the courtyard.
He was dressed in a light black robe with a long sword at his waist. Due to several days of travel, he was covered in dust, and his long hair was disheveled by the wind. Only his handsome face remained calm, showing no signs of fatigue.
Beside the young knight, Wendy smiled, looking at the boy beside her with a genuine smile.
It was clear that she had dressed up carefully that day. She was wearing a long black dress, her hair was neatly styled, and a bright smile graced her pretty face. Her eyes were constantly fixed on the young knight beside her, and her gentle gaze was enough to impress even the most oblivious person.
Mar watched this scene quietly, a glimmer of light seeming to bloom in her purple eyes. A deep and complex mark slowly emerged, gradually revealing a mysterious power that allowed her to see through all the illusion and witness the ultimate truth.
In the end, she saw everything.
She saw that purple threads were spreading continuously across the young knight's body, containing a power of destiny so immense it was terrifying.
This was a power of destiny that far surpassed everything, so powerful that it transcended all others, even shocking Mar. The scissors in her hand involuntarily fell to the ground with a crisp clanging sound.
Among those threads of fate, she could see many different threads intertwined, with two being the thickest and most unique.
A crimson line, as red as blood, faintly carries the stench of slaughter, seemingly connecting to a bloody hell, with scenes of various killings, battles, and splattering blood flashing by.
The other line is smaller, but equally special. Its lines are sometimes bright and sometimes dark, carrying a sense of gloom and uncertainty, and a feeling of desolation where everything is returning to silence.
God of Slaughter and Lord of Darkness!
In the blink of an eye, Mar recognized the object connected by these two lines of fate and saw many, many things in them.
The young knight before me has a great connection with the two gods, the God of Slaughter and the Lord of Darkness. The two threads of fate between him and the knight are constantly intertwined, extending not only to the past and present, but also colliding with the future.
Before she could think about it, Mar suddenly felt that the view in front of her had changed.
A touch of purple rose in the surrounding world. At that moment, the scenery around the world seemed to fade inch by inch, and everything around disappeared, leaving only this purple expanse.
Suddenly, a pair of deep, calm eyes looked in their direction, faintly tinged with purple, and the light of destiny shimmering within them was too dazzling to look at directly.
boom!!
In the blink of an eye, Mar felt as if his mind was about to explode, as if he had been hit hard by several huge iron rods in an instant, which jolted him out of his shock and made him barely regain his senses.
Standing in the center of the courtyard, feeling the gaze falling on her from afar, she quickly lowered her head, closed her eyes, and showed no sign of anything amiss.
In the distance, watching the maid who suddenly lowered her head, Adir calmly withdrew his gaze.
"The new maid?"
He looked in that direction and asked the butler beside him.
"Miss Wendy rescued her a while ago. She's only been here a few days, so it's normal that you don't remember her, sir." Beside him, the butler spoke with a serious expression, looking at Mar, who was working diligently with her head down in the distance.
"Find an opportunity to check if there's any danger, and once you've confirmed it, let her stay here."
Adir turned around, glancing at Wendy standing beside him out of the corner of his eye. A thought quickly crossed his mind and he roughly guessed what had happened.
He didn't say much, just nodded, and didn't interfere with the girl's choice.
Although he wasn't physically exhausted after rushing back from outside Tam City, he definitely needed to rest and prepare for what was to come.
Upon entering the manor, he quickly dismounted and, led by several maids, walked on foot into his room, his figure gradually disappearing outside.
Mar waited until Adir was far away and the crowd around him gradually dispersed before slowly raising his head.
"What terrifying power of fate! The favor bestowed upon this knight is terrifying..."
She quietly raised her head. Mar's clothes were soaked with sweat, the fabric clinging to her back and revealing a large portion of her body. "Compared to him, those so-called lucky ones I've met in the past are nothing..."
"And it's so clean..."
