Wizard Immortal

Chapter 85 Reputation

Chapter 85 Reputation

As I entered the familiar underground market, apprentices were constantly walking by.

As Adir walked among them, dressed in a gray robe, he kept his head down and did not stand out at all among the apprentices around him.

Because they were all wizard apprentices, there was not much noise around them; it was mostly quiet except for the constant sound of hurried footsteps.

After walking through the area, Adir looked around casually, seemingly searching for something.

Finally, he stopped at the stall of an old man in a black robe.

Sensing Adir's footsteps, the old man raised his head and looked at Adir: "What do you need?"

He spoke in a cold voice, sounding more like he was chasing someone away than doing business.

"Some of the things needed to make potions."

Hearing the other person's voice, Adir didn't take it seriously and spoke directly.

"Ha, yet another apprentice who wants to concoct potions."

Hearing Adir's words, the old man in black robes shook his head: "Let me give you a piece of advice: for people like you, it's better to save the magic stones you have to buy these things and use them to attend a few more classes. That will be far more helpful for your future than these things."

"I've been in the academy for so many years, and I haven't seen many apprentices actually be able to refine anything. They're just wasting their magic stones."

Hearing Adir's words, the old man in black shook his head and looked at him, offering his advice.

"How will you know you can't do it if you don't even try?"

Adir remained calm, showing no reaction to the other party's advice.

Seeing Adir's appearance, the old man in black robes sighed inwardly and stopped trying to say anything.

He had seen far too many people like this before him. Each one started out incredibly confident, thinking that once they learned a little about potions, they could immediately start making potions. But in the end, they didn't produce anything at all, wasting their resources.

He only spoke up to advise Adir because he saw that Adir was too young and did not seem to have a powerful background to provide resources, so as not to delay him.

Seeing that his advice was ineffective, he became direct and took out a large pile of equipment from behind him. It looked a bit old: "These are second-hand items used by the apprentices in the past. Although they are a few years old, they are still usable. There are five magic stones in total."

"A very fair price."

Hearing the price, Adir nodded.

The equipment needed for wizards to concoct potions is made from rare materials and often requires a high degree of precision. A new complete set typically costs around ten magic stones.

Although this set may be a bit old, at least it's not broken and can still be used. The price of five magic stones isn't too expensive.

After briefly inspecting the equipment and confirming that there were no problems, Adir took out five magic stones from the cloth bag at his waist and quietly placed them in front of the other party.

"Huh..."

Suddenly, the old man in the black robe let out a surprised sound.

He looked at Adir's ears and his black hair streaked with silver, and a look of astonishment appeared on his face: "You're the legendary half-elf?"

Adir froze, momentarily stunned.

He looked at the old man in black robes in front of him. His expression was calm, but his eyes revealed a hint of doubt.

Don't look at me like that.

Looking into Adir's eyes, the old man in black robes said, "Your story has recently spread throughout the academy."

"Many people know that a half-elf apprentice has emerged in the academy with a strong talent for potion making, and has won the favor of Lord Simora."

His face displayed a complex expression, a mixture of realization, envy, and jealousy, before finally returning to calm: "If it's you, then it's no wonder. With your talent, it's perfectly normal for you to start experimenting with potion making now."

Adir was completely stunned in front of him.

During his time at the academy, he kept a very low profile. He spent his days meditating and attending classes. Apart from having to accept some missions due to a lack of magic stones, he did not have much interaction with others and naturally would not know about these situations.

However, listening to the words of the old man in black robes, he vaguely understood something.

If someone were to investigate carefully, it would be impossible to hide the things the other party was saying.

As a half-elf, Adir was different from ordinary humans. His ears, which were slightly sharper than those of ordinary people, and his long, pale silver hair were things that could not be concealed. It was perfectly normal for experienced wizards to be able to tell.

The same applies to pharmaceutics.

His performance in the potion course was actually observed by the other apprentices in the class, including many from powerful wizarding families. In addition, his mentor, Simona, showed him more attention later on, so over time, he naturally left an impression on some people.

Putting aside everything else, Adir was able to catch up with those advanced apprentices who had studied pharmacy for more than ten years in just a few months. He never missed a single course, from the basic courses to the paid courses. This alone was enough to earn Adir the reputation of a pharmacy genius in the minds of some people.

However, in a sense, this is not necessarily a bad thing.

Whether it's his half-elf bloodline or his status as a potion-making genius, both hold significant value in the eyes of wizards—at least enough that being alive is more valuable than being dead. Aside from wizards like Gamora who wanted to dissect Adir, other high-ranking members would actually offer him some protection.

Thinking of this, he suddenly realized something, and his expression returned to calm.

"Bring me my things."

Looking at the old man in black robes before him, Adir spoke directly.

However, seeing Adir's appearance, the old man had no objections.

Despite the same behavior, he used to think Adir was just daydreaming, but now he felt that Adir was full of confidence, and even inexplicably developed a little confidence in him.

This is the difference created by the halo of genius.

"Besides the complete set of equipment, what else do we need?"

After quietly tidying up the things beside him, the old man spoke again, his tone much gentler than before.

Standing still, Adir thought for a moment, then said, "Give me the materials for ten more healing potions."

This is a basic potion in pharmacology, and one of the very few potions whose recipe has been made public. It can quickly heal wounds and can be considered one of the basic potions commonly used by wizards.

However, although the potion recipes are almost public knowledge, they are only relatively easy for wizards to obtain; they are still not easy for apprentices to come by.

Adir got this formula from Professor Simora, who taught him it during a paid pharmacy class.

"The materials for ten healing potions, minus the odd amounts, will be worth one magic stone to you."

Before him, the old man glanced at Adir, then took out several boxes from the side: "My name is Ella, and I've been at the academy for decades."

"I can't guarantee anything else, but if you need anything in pharmacology, you can come and take a look here. You definitely won't be disappointed."

He looked at Adir and said this.
