Dragon Raja: The Divine Man Lu Mingfei
Chapter 86 Counterattack
Chapter 86 Counterattack
"FBI, Open the door!!!"
Before the students inside could react, the dormitory door was violently broken open, and a figure rushed into the room with lightning speed. After two gunshots, the figure turned and left, leaving behind two "corpses" lying on the ground, half of their bodies stained red by tranquilizer darts, without even having time to cry out.
Meanwhile, two terrified trainees huddled against the wall, trembling, when a deafening crash came from the door. Their hearts stopped instantly; they stared, pale-faced, at the slowly warping door, uttering desperate pleas.
No......No...
"But it was to no avail."
Bang!
After another loud bang, a crack appeared in the solid wood door panel, and a face with a ferocious smile peeked in through the gap.
"Ah ...
But two more gunshots followed, and from then on, Kassel College had two more "corpses".
"S-level freshman Lu Mingfei, A-level freshman Xia Mi, warning! Please immediately stop your acts of harming innocent people! Otherwise, the academy will dispatch the executive department to violently suppress you!" A cold female voice echoed through the campus through the loudspeaker.
But Lu Mingfei and Xia Mi acted as if they hadn't heard anything, treating it as background noise, and continued to sweep through each room with their guns.
In the underground command center of Kassel College, a man in a wheelchair sat in front of a huge screen. He wore a black oxygen mask that covered the lower half of his face, revealing only the taut upper half. The mask was connected to a thick oxygen tube that led to an oxygen tank behind him. Above the mask, a pair of iron-gray eyes were visible, calm, indifferent, and profound, filled with an air of authority and aloofness honed through countless life-or-death experiences.
Those eyes were fixed intently on the other end of the video call. On the screen sat an elderly man with a full head of silver hair and silver-grey eyes that seemed completely out of place with his wrinkled face. They were clear and bright, like those of a curious young boy. The old man was impeccably dressed, and a perfectly blooming red rose was tucked into the pocket of his impeccably tailored suit, adding a touch of ostentation to his otherwise dignified gentlemanly demeanor.
"Professor Schneider, is there anything I can help you with? I'm still investigating the Chen family's affairs. If it's not urgent, I'll hang up now." The old man looked very busy.
"Principal! Look at the mess Lu Mingfei has made!" Schneider's hoarse, piercing voice rang out, filled with intense anger: "Lawless! Disrespectful to elders! Doing whatever he pleases! Is this what you call S-rank?"
On the other end of the screen, Angers received a video file. After watching it carefully, he looked up at Schneider on the screen again, his tone unchanged: "Schneider, Mingfei is a good kid. He's just too playful. Besides, today is Freedom Day. They used Frigga bullets. We didn't have any casualties, did we?"
"Principal, I cannot condone your favoritism towards Lu Mingfei. Even with his S-level rating, his actions have far exceeded the bounds of a day of freedom and have caused irreversible damage to the normal order of the campus. I have issued an ultimatum to both of them through Norma. If they continue their violations, I will immediately mobilize all the elite forces of the Executive Department to forcibly suppress them!"
"I advise you not to waste your energy, Professor Schneider. You have no idea of Mingfei's current strength. Even if the Executive Department goes there, they can't do anything to him. It's just a waste of manpower. They'll stop when they've had their fun."
"What if the vice-principal is willing to lift the [precept]?"
"You can give it a try."
Looking at Schneider's determined eyes, Angers knew that there was no point in saying anything, so he stopped trying to persuade him. Some things, they would only understand after they hit a wall themselves. Lu Mingfei was not a demon. At most, he would make those guys in the executive department suffer a little. No one would actually die. Let them be.
The screen went out, the communication ended, and Angers stared at the black screen in silence for a long time.
In fact, he had already learned about Lu Mingfei's true strength from a mysterious business partner, and also knew that the Chen family's disappearance case, which he was currently investigating with all his might, was actually the work of Lu Mingfei alone.
The partner behind the scenes left Angers with only one sentence: Lu Mingfei has long since broken free from anyone's control. From now on, whatever he wants or does, you must unconditionally comply and not obstruct him in any way.
Angers initially refused the request outright. He had crawled out of a pool of blood and survived for a century, and his only obsession with living was to avenge the dragons. From the very beginning, Lu Mingfei was the only weapon in his eyes that could accomplish this revenge. How could he possibly be willing to let that weapon slip out of his control?
But when the other party uttered the truth that was enough to overturn the entire worldview of hybrids—that the Black King Nidhogg had already awakened and had now been tamed by Lu Mingfei as his pet dog, Angers fell silent.
This fact was so absurd that his first reaction was that the other party was talking nonsense. However, he could roughly guess the identity of his partner, who was at the top of the world pyramid. The other party had no reason to lie to him about such a thing.
After much deliberation, Angers finally relented and decided to believe what the other party said for the time being and not interfere with Lu Mingfei's actions. He would wait until Lu Mingfei officially entered Kassel College before personally observing and verifying whether all of this, which overturned his understanding, was really true.
Back on Schneider's end, he looked at Lu Mingfei and Xia Mi on the monitor screen, who were ignoring his warnings and still going door-to-door. He picked up his phone and made a call.
"Vice Principal Flamel, this is Schneider." Schneider greeted her through the communicator in his signature hoarse, piercing voice.
"Oh, it's Schneider—what's up? Make it quick, I'm busy right now." A drunken male voice came from the other end of the phone, with some indescribable sounds seemingly mixed in the background.
"I need you to immediately lift the 'rules' on the entire campus." Schneider's tone was serious, without any unnecessary preamble.
"Huh?" Flamel's voice instantly became much clearer. "What serious thing happened? Why do you want me to lift the [commandments]?"
Could it be a dragon invasion?
"No, there are two students in the academy who are not bound by the [Discipline]. They have turned the entire academy upside down, including your son, Professor Manstein, who has been knocked unconscious by the two with Frigga's bullet." Schneider's voice was as deep as iron. "I have already mobilized the elite of the Execution Department to prepare to suppress them. Only by lifting the prohibition can the Execution Department personnel use the Word of Power to fight freely. Please execute the lifting operation immediately."
After a moment of silence on the other end of the phone, Flamel's voice, tinged with alcohol, came through: "What did Angers say? Did he agree to lift the restrictions?"
"The principal has already agreed," Schneider replied readily.
Flamel hesitated for a moment, then finally relented: "Alright, since he agreed, I have nothing more to say. The [commandment] has been lifted. I'll hang up now if there's nothing else." Before Schneider could reply, the line went dead; Flamel had already hung up.
Almost the instant the rules were lifted, all the students at Kassel College felt the invisible shackles on their bodies shatter. The power of the Word of Power suppressed by the rules instantly flowed back into their bodies. The students who had been cowering in their dormitories, trembling with fear, suddenly felt emboldened. Their fear of Lu Mingfei and Xia Mi lessened considerably, and many began to gather their roommates to launch a counterattack and defeat these two lawless freshmen.
Schneider also issued timely orders, commanding the elites of the executive department to suppress the two.
Within minutes of the order being issued, hordes of counter-attackers surged up in the campus that had been ravaged by the two men. The entire Kassel was filled with fervor, and the one-sided massacre instantly transformed into a full-scale counter-offensive.
