Divine Seal: I, the Grim Reaper, am kept by the yandere Cai'er.

Chapter 53 Extortion of the Seventh Rank

"There, you will face the ferocity of the demons!"

Upon hearing the words "demon race," many people's breathing became heavy.

Hanci paused for a moment, then dropped a bombshell: "These three months are also your most direct opportunity to gain merit points. After three months, the team that gains the most merit points from hunting demons will be the winner of the team competition!"

The top three teams will receive huge rewards from the alliance—first place: 1,000 merit points per person! Second place: 500 points per person! Third place: 300 points per person!

Listen carefully, I'm talking about every single person on the team!

"Hiss!"

A collective gasp filled the room, followed by eyes that gleamed like those of hungry wolves!

One thousand merit points!

It's worth noting that even someone as strong as Cai'er, who won the individual championship, only received a mere 100 initial merit points from the league.

If the team wins first place, each person will receive 1,000 merit points, which will add up to 6,000 points!

This was enough to allow their newly formed team to skip the warrior level and be promoted to the general level demon hunter team at an extremely terrifying speed!

"Wow! A thousand points! We're rich! We're rich!"

Chen Ying'er's face flushed with excitement, and she instinctively grabbed Cai'er's hand and shook it vigorously.

Cai'er's body stiffened abruptly.

Her assassin instincts almost made her throw the people around her away, but Bai Ye's words, "They are sisters you can entrust your back to," suddenly came to mind, and she forcefully suppressed that feeling of resistance.

She only frowned slightly, but surprisingly did not break free from Chen Ying'er's hand.

This scene, witnessed by the other girls, made them exchange knowing smiles.

It seems that their seemingly cold-hearted leader isn't really that ruthless after all.

"Standing behind me are ten elite Guardian Knights of the Alliance, who will each serve as your leader."

Hanci pointed to the ten burly men behind him, "They are all true heroes who have fought against the demons for many years in the Demon Exorcism Pass! On the battlefield, you must learn from them how to survive. Now, all team leaders, take your positions and prepare to depart!"

At Hantz's command, the ten guardian knights went to their respective teams.

A middle-aged knight, extremely tall and bearing a hideous scar on his left cheek, strode steadily toward the six girls of the First Demon Hunter Squad.

Facing this group of stunningly beautiful young women, the iron-blooded knight remained unmoved, his voice booming like a bell: "My name is Gao Yingjie, and I am your leader. Let me make it clear beforehand that for the next three months, I will not interfere with your tactics, nor will I be responsible for commanding battles. My only task is to correct any fatal errors in your decision-making and to guarantee that, three months from now, you rookies will be able to leave the battlefield alive."

"Hello, Team Leader Gao!" Chen Ying'er blinked her big eyes and curiously raised her hand. "So, what do we need to do before we set off?"

"I understand your strength." Gao Yingjie's gaze swept over the six people. "As your protector, I must know where your limits lie."

Chen Ying'er tilted her head: "Then how do we find out?"

"It's simple." Gao Yingjie's lips curled into a cold, hard smile befitting a soldier. "Battle is always the best way to test strength. You've just formed a team, and I'm afraid you've never fought side by side before, right? Now, I'm your first challenge. All of you, let's see what you're made of."

Upon hearing that a fight was about to break out, Wang Yuanyuan, carrying a giant shield, instantly brightened up, her blood boiling. She stepped forward and asked with boundless confidence, "Team leader, what is your cultivation level?"

Gao Yingjie replied calmly, "Seventh rank, Templar Knight. To be fair, I will not use the flight ability of my spirit wings or summon a mount during the battle."

"A seventh-tier fighter beating a bunch of fourth and fifth-tier fighters, is that fair?" Wang Yuanyuan curled her lip, her eyes darting around, and chuckled, "Team leader, since it's a challenge, just getting beaten up isn't fun. If we win, are there any tangible benefits? Like—private sponsorship of some merit points or something?"

Upon hearing this, Li Xin and Feng Ling'er couldn't help but cover their faces. This Yuan Yuan is incredibly audacious! She actually dared to openly extort a seventh-tier powerhouse!

To Ping's surprise, Gao Yingjie was not angry; instead, he burst into hearty laughter.

He wasn't disdainful; rather, he genuinely admired this fearless, rebellious spirit that dared to challenge the strong.

On the battlefield, only this wolf-like nature can ensure survival for longer!

"Good! You've got guts!" Gao Yingjie stared intently at them. "If you can defeat me in this battle, or force me to use my flying ability, I will temporarily set aside my leadership role for the next three months and join your team as your exclusive guardian knight! Furthermore, all the merit points I earn on the battlefield during these three months will be handed over to your captain!"

Upon hearing this, the girls in the Demon Hunter Team One all gasped, their hearts pounding.

Under normal circumstances, the team leader should never take action. However, if a seventh-tier Templar Knight joins the team as a fighter, their speed in accumulating merit points over the next three months will definitely leave other teams far behind!

It's a deal.

Before anyone else could react, a clear, crisp voice, without the slightest hesitation, rang out.

Everyone turned their heads and saw that Cai'er had already grasped the green bamboo staff at some point. Although she was blind, her chilling killing intent had quietly locked onto Gao Yingjie.

As an assassin, Cai'er knew better than anyone the value of this betting agreement.

To gain an early advantage for the team, we have to take this gamble!

Seeing Cai'er's sharp aura, a hint of admiration flashed in Gao Yingjie's eyes.

Without wasting words, he turned and walked to one side of the training ground, taking out a standard-issue iron shield and a standard-issue longsword from his storage ring, indicating that he was ready.

As the other demon hunter teams left the trial grounds one after another, only Gao Yingjie and the six girls from Demon Hunter Team No. 1 remained on the spacious field.

"Commander, how should we fight? What are our tactics?" Li Xin drew her twin swords and asked solemnly. Their opponent was a seventh-tier expert; even if they held back, it wouldn't be a joke.

Cai'er stood calmly at the front, her voice clear and cold: "No tactics, just improvise. Xin'er and I will lead the attack, Yuan Yuan will flank, Ying'er will rely on luck, and Ling'er will be responsible for boosting."

This extremely brief arrangement left everyone speechless, but thinking about it, it made sense. They had only known each other for three days and had no tacit understanding whatsoever. Forcing a tactical arrangement would only backfire.

After arranging things for the others, Cai'er turned her head slightly and focused her attention on Ye Weiyang, who was standing at the back of the group.

Li Xin is a knight, Yuan Yuan is a warrior, Ying'er is a summoner, and Ling'er is a priest.

She had learned more or less about these people's backgrounds during the competition.

Only Ye Weiyang, this extremely low-key magician in the competition, was completely unknown to Cai'er about her abilities.

"Weiyang, what is your ability?" Cai'er asked.
