Creating a paradise in an ant nest

Chapter 107 Crimson Spirit Ants!

For a period of time afterward, Liu He kept a close eye on the ant eggs, in addition to his daily cultivation.

Ten days later, the ant eggs hatched into larvae.

The larvae that hatch from this faintly glowing queen ant egg are also clearly different from those of ordinary ant eggs and larvae.

It is larger, stronger, more active, and constantly emits "hunger" pheromones.

"We will dedicate all our efforts to nurturing three generations of queen ants!"

Liu He knew how important the larval stage of ants was.

The larval stage of ants is their "starting line." Sufficient nutrition during the larval stage gives them a head start.

The appearance of adult ants depends on the nutrition they receive during their larval stage.

"Jadeite Spirit Melon, Violet Green Radish, Purple Apple Spirit Fruit, and Crimson Glass Peach, eat!"

"Beast food from the Eight Desolations and Nine Netherworlds, plus high-grade beast food bought for 100 spirit stones, here you go!"

"Feed them with the roots of the ancient sacred toon and the soul-nourishing moon-flower fungus!"

Liu He spared no expense in investing resources, wishing he could invest all his treasures in the queen ant larvae.

Including the roots of the ancient Chinese toon tree and the soul-nourishing Ganoderma lucidum.

The roots of the ancient Chinese toon are actually very few, only one foot long and the thickest part is only the thickness of a finger. Liu He usually only consumes it himself and will not feed it to the ant colony.

As for whether the larvae will be unable to digest so many treasures and resources?

No, because larvae typically don't directly consume these plant resources; instead, worker ants ingest and digest them.

The nutrients are converted and absorbed by the larvae through their own glands, and then regurgitated to feed the larvae.

With worker ants serving as "food conversion stations," Liu He has no worries about the queen larvae being unable to digest the food.

In the queen ant nest, a large number of worker ants "serve" the queen larvae, taking care of and feeding them.

More than ten days have passed in the blink of an eye.

Under Liu He's meticulous care, and with the full attention of the entire black queen ant colony, the queen larvae spun a crystal-clear cocoon.

In another ten days or so, after they emerge from their cocoons, they will become true queen ants.

Fulu Peak, Mozhi Pavilion.

After more than a month of practice, Liu He's success rate in drawing the Rock Shield Talisman has reached 80%.

He drew eight rock shield talismans in reality, and then went to the Ink Paper Pavilion to buy talisman ink and talisman paper.

Before buying the talisman ink, he had to sell the rock shield talismans he had drawn.

He found Wen Yu and handed over three Rock Shield Talismans. He was gradually revealing his talent and ability, and now producing eight Rock Shield Talismans was truly terrifying.

"Senior Sister Wen, I only managed to draw three Rock Shield Talismans with a bottle of talisman ink. Sigh, I lost quite a few spirit stones."

"Huh? What do you mean by only drawing three Rock Shield runes?"

Wen Yu rolled her eyes, wondering if Liu He was a newbie who didn't know any better or if he was "showing off".

Liu He had no prior experience in drawing other mid-grade spirit talismans. On his first attempt at drawing a mid-grade rock shield talisman, he successfully drew three talismans, which was a very high success rate.

"Aren't you a beginner talisman master? Your success rate in drawing mid-grade spirit talismans is quite impressive."

Among talisman masters, your talent is considered above average, only slightly inferior to top-tier masters like Senior Brother Pei.

Wen Yu said this.

The reason she didn't think Liu He's talent was top-notch was because Liu He himself had the cultivation level of the fifth level of Qi Refining and the talent of the Earth Element Spirit Body. This was something Liu He himself had said before.

"Really? Haha, I practiced a lot with ordinary ink and brush before I drew the Rock Shield Rune, and I only managed to draw three. I thought it was pretty average."

I'll buy another bottle of talisman ink and ten sheets of talisman paper; this time I'll try to draw five spirit talismans.

"With your talent, you should be able to achieve a 50% success rate soon. The talisman ink and talisman paper cost 62 spirit stones. After you return the three Rock Shield Talismans, you will need to give another 38 spirit stones."

Wen Yu estimated that Liu He would not lose money in drawing the Rock Shield Talisman in another three months.

If I can achieve a 90% success rate in another six months, I can earn spirit stones using the Rock Shield Talisman.

Liu He gave thirty-eight spirit stones and left with the talisman ink and talisman paper.

More than ten days later.

Inside the black queen ant nest, the cocoon breaks open, and a newly hatched queen ant emerges.

Since the newly hatched queen ant is still relatively fragile, it needs two days to replenish its nutrition and harden its exoskeleton and wings.

Liu He only used his spiritual energy to sense the queen ant emerging from its cocoon, and did not disturb it while it was feeding.

Three days later, the newborn queen ant voluntarily crawled out of her larval feeding chamber.

"My king~~ My king~~"

The third-generation queen ant has just appeared and is sending out strong and clear pheromones, summoning Liu He!

Liu He had never felt such a strong telepathic connection between himself and the queen ant.

He traveled to the black queen ant nest and came to the newborn queen ant.

"Greetings, my King!"

The newborn queen ant lowered her head and affectionately rubbed against Liu He with her antennae.

It has intelligence!

This demonstrates intelligence; they are much smarter than the other two queen ants and the ordinary ants.

"Haha, as expected of a spirit ant, its intelligence is probably no less than that of spirit beasts like the Eight Desolations and the Nine Netherworlds."

Liu He happily reached out and stroked the queen ant's hard head.

He observed carefully and found that the new queen ant was very beautiful.

The first generation of red ant queens looks like ordinary red forest ants, with a light red head and thorax and a brownish-red abdomen.

The second-generation black ant queen looks the same as the red ant queen, but her overall color is darker. Her head and thorax are dark red, and her abdomen is blackish-brown, so Liu He calls her the "black queen".

The third-generation spirit ant queen in front of me is similar in overall shape and appearance to the other two ant queens, with some differences in details.

The most obvious difference is the color. The queen ant is extremely brightly colored, especially her head and thorax, which are fiery red and shiny like metal armor, reflecting a shimmering luster even in the dim depths of the ant nest.

The lower abdomen is pure black, a deep, glossy black, contrasting with the shiny head and chest.

Besides its color, its jaws are longer and stronger, with a row of fine, sharp teeth growing along the inner edge of its jaws, the tips of which gleam with a cold black light.

It also has a pair of transparent wings with light red markings on the surface, clear veins, and a crimson base. These wings will fall off after its nuptial flight.

"Do you still need a wedding flight?"

Liu He inquired.

Although the queen ant in front of me looks similar to the red forest ant, the aura she exudes is clearly not that of an ordinary ant.

"Yes, Your Majesty, it is necessary."

"Okay, then prepare for your wedding flight and be careful."

It seems that even ants need to undergo nuptial flights to mate.

"We need to give you a new name."

After a moment's thought, Liu He realized that the three generations of ant queens before him needed a new name.

"Your colors are vibrant, crimson like the sun, and deep black and translucent; I shall call you—the Crimson Queen Ant."

"Thank you, my king!"

This is a brand new type of ant. Although it shares the same bloodline as the red forest ant, Liu He felt that it was completely different from the red forest ant.

Two days later, the Crimson Ant Queen took to her wedding flight.

With the strength of its ant species, it flew back to the Black Queen ant nest safely and unharmed.

It sheds its wings in a brand new nest chamber deep inside the anthill and begins to lay eggs, giving birth to its own ant colony.

Liu He did not disturb its development and allowed it to lay eggs on its own.
