Desert Island Infrastructure: Claiming the System Brings Many Blessings
Chapter 308 Singing Strategy
The reason Qin Chuan chose Canghai Island was because he felt that Doria was easier to win over than Vivian.
Vivian's situation involves too many steps and too many variables, including giving gifts, getting her drunk, and finding opportunities. Doria's situation is much simpler; the ancient texts clearly state that she only needs to sing love songs.
Qin Chuan stood still in the teleportation array. The moment the purple light screen lit up, he mentally reviewed his plan once more.
First, give gifts. This helps to build rapport.
Second, suggest listening to music to introduce the topic.
Third, sing to her repeatedly for several days in a row. Get her hooked, and then it will all fall into place naturally.
As the light faded, a sea breeze swept over us. The white stone pavilion in the Canghai Island teleportation plaza gleamed warmly in the setting sun, casting long shadows of coconut trees.
At five o'clock in the afternoon, the sun was no longer so strong, but the heat in the air was still there.
Qin Chuan walked along the white stone path towards the castle. Mermaids strolled by in twos and threes, dressed in light, sheer dresses, their skin so white it seemed to glow. A few recognized Qin Chuan and nodded and smiled at him.
Master Qin Chuan's name had already spread throughout Canghai Island. His swimsuits and lace lingerie made him a popular figure among the mermaid women.
The guards at the castle gate saw Qin Chuan and let him pass immediately.
"Master Qin Chuan, the clan leader is in the main hall," the guard said.
Qin Chuan walked through the corridor and pushed open the dark blue arched door.
Doria sat on a white stone chair, holding a book woven from seashells in her hands.
Her long, silvery-white hair cascaded down to her waist, and her light blue tulle dress clung to her curves, the shape of her chest rising and falling slightly with each page turn.
She looked up when she heard the door open.
His pale blue eyes gleamed in the light.
"Master Qin Chuan?" Doria put down her book and stood up. "Why are you here? You didn't give me any advance notice."
"It was a spur-of-the-moment idea." Qin Chuan walked over with a smile. "I just happened to have some things I wanted to give to the clan leader."
"A gift?" Doria seemed a little embarrassed. "I haven't had a chance to properly thank you for the last share of profits, and you've sent me something again."
Qin Chuan took out a wooden box and a cloth bag from his spatial ring and placed them on the stone table.
"Take a look at this first."
Doria walked over and opened the wooden box.
Inside is a flying tuna, kept fresh with ice crystals.
The deep blue fish body shimmered with golden light under the reflection of the ice crystals, and the pair of fan-shaped wings on its back were folded up, the scales as exquisite as works of art.
"This is..." Doria's eyes lit up, "A flying tuna? You bought it at the expo?"
"Yes."
"This ingredient is in high demand at the expo, and it's also a bit pricey. You should keep it for yourself and enjoy it slowly."
"The clan chief has been so supportive of my business, what's a fish?" Qin Chuan said, then pointed to the cloth bag next to him, "That's for you too."
Doria opened the bag, inside were several pieces of lace lingerie, the fabric light and soft, with exquisite patterns.
Doria blushed slightly.
"Well... Master Qin Chuan, you've come here today for more than just to bring a gift, haven't you?"
"The clan leader is indeed wise." Qin Chuan picked up his teacup. "Actually, I've come today with a request."
"you say."
"I've heard that the mermaids have the best singing voices in the entire continent. I've been to Canghai Island so many times, but I've never had the chance to hear it with my own ears."
Doria laughed: "That's true. We mermaids are born with beautiful voices; singing is an instinct ingrained in our bones."
"If I could hear the clan leader sing a song himself..." Qin Chuan paused deliberately, "I'm afraid I'd be so excited I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight."
Doria was amused by this.
"Master Qin Chuan, you really know how to talk."
"I'm telling the truth. The clan chief's voice is already beautiful; it sounds like he's singing when he speaks. Imagine what he would be like if he actually sang!"
Doria lowered her head and took a sip of tea, concealing the smile on her lips.
She thought for a moment, then looked up and said, "Okay. I don't have any official business this afternoon, so I'll take you to a karaoke bar."
Qin Chuan was secretly delighted, but kept a calm expression on his face: "That's great."
Doria stood up, the hem of her long, sheer dress trailing a pale blue arc on the ground. She walked towards the door, the pale blue scales on her bare ankles shimmering in the light.
"Come with me."
Qin Chuan followed behind her, and the two walked through the corridor, went up the stairs, and arrived at the third floor of the castle.
The corridor on the third floor was narrower than the one below, and the walls were decorated with various seashells and corals. At the end of the corridor was a round door with a ring of luminous blue pearls inlaid on the door frame.
Doria pushed open the door.
Qin Chuan walked in, and the scene before him made him pause for a moment.
The design of this karaoke room completely exceeded his expectations.
The ground was a light blue color, like a thin layer of water frozen on the floor. Stepping on it, you could feel a cool sensation under your feet, but it wasn't real water; it was made of some kind of special mineral.
The ceiling above was also a light blue dome, covered with seashells and conches of all sizes.
The inner walls of the seashells refracted a pearly luster under the light, and the spiral of the conch shells was inlaid with luminous blue crystals, making the entire ceiling look like an underwater dome.
What surprised Qin Chuan the most was the wall.
All four walls are made of transparent glass, which is about half a meter thick.
The glass wall was filled with seawater, and various colorful tropical fish swam around inside. Occasionally, a larger fish would swim close to the glass, its scales shimmering under the lights.
Instead of television screens, the walls are covered with enormous seashells. These seashells, each as big as a washbasin, are evenly distributed above the four glass walls, with their openings facing outwards.
In the center of the room stood a curved white sofa, in front of which was a low coral stone table. On the table was a tray with several small seashells of various shapes.
"This is my private karaoke room." Doria walked to the sofa, sat down, and patted the seat next to her. "Have a seat."
Qin Chuan sat down next to her. The sofa was very soft; he sank into it completely.
"The fish in these walls..."
"They're alive," Doria said. "The glass wall connects to the sea outside the castle, so the fish can come and go freely. The fish you see every day are different."
Qin Chuan nodded. The design was indeed ingenious. Sitting here singing, surrounded by schools of fish, with a seashell dome overhead and a water-blue floor beneath one's feet, one felt as if they were in an underwater palace.
"What are those large conch shells?" Qin Chuan pointed to the conch shells above the wall.
"Amplifying conch shells," Doria explained. "When you sing, your voice is captured and amplified by these conch shells, which automatically generate accompaniment based on the pitch. Each conch shell is responsible for a different vocal range—low, middle, and high—and together they form a complete accompaniment system."
Qin Chuan was secretly astonished. Wasn't this a natural KTV sound system?
Doria picked up a conch shell from the tray on the table. This conch shell was smaller than the others, slender in shape, with a pale pink shell that was polished smooth. Holding it in her hand, its size and shape were about the same as a microphone on Earth.
"This is a microphone conch shell." Doria held the conch shell to her mouth and gently blew on it.
At the same time, the large conch shell on the wall emitted a low hum, as if it were warming up.
"Ready?" Doria glanced at Qin Chuan, a hint of anticipation in her pale blue eyes. "I'll sing a song from our mermaid tribe, and you can listen to it."
Qin Chuan leaned back on the sofa, adopting an attentive listening posture.
Doria took a deep breath, her long, silvery-white hair slipping from her shoulders and falling to her chest. She closed her eyes, her lips slightly parted.
The first note flowed from her throat.
