On the afternoon of the third day, Qin Chuan appeared at the karaoke bar on time.

Doria wore a white strapless dress today, her shoulders and arms completely exposed, her fair skin standing out against the backdrop of the fish reflected in the glass wall. Her long, silvery-white hair was loosely pinned back with a pearl hairpin, a few strands falling beside her ears.

Her eyes lit up immediately when she saw Qin Chuan come in.

"You're here! What are you singing today?"

Qin Chuan noticed that her tone was much more urgent than it had been a couple of days ago. Now she was skipping her own singing part and just waiting for Qin Chuan to come and sing.

"This song is a bit special today." Qin Chuan sat down next to her. "It's a song about the sea, but it's different from the one on the first day. This song is about the love between a seabird and a fish."

"Seabirds and fish?" Doria tilted her head. "How can they fall in love? One flies in the sky, and the other swims in the water."

"That's why it's called the Coral Sea," Qin Chuan laughed. "The Coral Sea is the only place where they can meet. Seabirds swoop down to the surface, fish leap out of the water, and in that instant, they see each other."

Doria's eyes grew brighter and brighter.

"This story...is so beautiful."

"You'll understand after you listen." Qin Chuan picked up the conch shell microphone.

"The love between the seabird and the fish was just an accident..."

In the very first sentence, Doria is captured.

The melody of this song is different from the previous two. It is neither the heavy sorrow of "The Sea" nor the ethereal beauty of "Myth of Stars and Moon". The melody of "Coral Sea" is flowing, like the sea, pushing emotions forward wave after wave.

"Our love has always had differences..."

The accompaniment of the conch shell was exceptionally well-matched this time. The low-pitched conch shell simulated the rhythm of ocean waves, the mid-pitched conch shell rose and fell with the melody, and the high-pitched conch shell added a few crisp ornaments during the interlude.

"Turning away, unable to say goodbye..."

Doria unconsciously gripped the fabric of her skirt.

This song is more complex in its emotions than the previous two. It contains love, helplessness, and the pain of wanting to get closer but being unable to.

Seabirds and fish, though they love each other, are destined to be apart because of their innate differences.

"The love between the seabird and the fish was just an accident..."

The chorus melody appears repeatedly, and each repetition adds a layer of emotional depth compared to the last.

Qin Chuan's voice here carries a resigned gentleness, as if he has already accepted the ending, but still can't help but look back one last time.

The song ended.

Doria stood there, completely stunned.

After a long while, she finally spoke, her voice so soft it was as if she were talking to herself.

"Seabirds and fish fall in love... I never knew songs could be written like this."

She turned to look at Qin Chuan, her light blue eyes filled with shock.

"Master Qin Chuan, how can your human songs express emotions in such detail? Our mermaid songs mostly describe scenery such as the sea, the moon, and coral. No one has ever used seabirds and fish to symbolize two people in love."

Do you like this song?

"I like it." Doria nodded without hesitation. "I like it even more than the previous two."

She paused for a moment, then suddenly said, "Master Qin Chuan, could you teach me to sing this song?"

This is exactly what Qin Chuan was waiting for.

"Of course," he said. "But this song is a bit special; it can be sung by two people. The man sings one verse, the woman sings another, and then they sing together at the end."

"Sing it together?" Doria's eyes lit up even more. "Shall we sing it together?"

"Yes. I'll teach you the female part, and then we'll sing together."

Doria immediately sat up straight, tucked the stray hairs that had fallen over her shoulders behind her ears, and looked like she was studying diligently.

"Okay, you teach me."

Qin Chuan first sang the first line in female voice.

"The love between the seabird and the fish was just an accident..."

"Sing it after me once."

Doria cleared her throat and sang in Qin Chuan's tone.

"The love between the seabird and the fish was just an accident..."

Her pronunciation wasn't perfect; some words had the wrong tone, but her voice was definitely good.

The same melody, when sung by her, had an added layer of softness, like water.

"Not bad," Qin Chuan said, "but the tone of your pronunciation of the word 'accident' was a little too high. It should have been lower, not higher. Come on, try again."

"Unexpected..." Doria tried it out. "Like this?"

"Yes, that's the feeling. Let's do it again, the whole thing."

"The love between the seabird and the fish was just an accident..."

This time it's much better. Qin Chuan nodded.

"The next sentence: 'Our love, differences have always existed.'"

Qin Chuan first demonstrated it once, and then had Doria sing along.

Doria studied very diligently. She would repeatedly check the pronunciation of each word, and start over if she got it wrong. Sometimes she had to practice a single word five or six times before she could find the correct tone.

"Your tongue is in the wrong position for the word 'difference'," Qin Chuan said. "Listen, when you pronounce 'difference', the tip of your tongue should touch the roof of your mouth."

"No..." Doria tried it, then shook her head, "No, I feel like my tongue isn't obeying me."

"Come on, look at my mouth." Qin Chuan turned his face towards her and slowly made the shape of the word "cha" with his mouth.

Doria leaned closer, her pale blue eyes fixed on his lips. The distance between them suddenly closed to less than twenty centimeters.

Qin Chuan could smell a faint scent of seawater mixed with some kind of floral fragrance on her.

"Miss..." Doria mimicked his lip movements, and this time she got it right.

"Okay, that's it." Qin Chuan didn't back down, maintaining this distance. "Next word, 'Yi'. Open your mouth a little wider, and let the sound come from deep in your throat."

"different......"

"Lower it a little more."

"different......"

"That's right. Put them together, and it's 'difference'."

"difference."

"Perfect."

Doria smiled, her face beaming with the satisfaction of having learned something new.

The two practiced sentence by sentence. Qin Chuan taught patiently, breaking down each word in detail. Doria also studied diligently, practicing repeatedly whenever she encountered something she didn't understand, never being perfunctory.

After practicing for about forty minutes, Doria was able to sing the first part of the female vocal section completely.

"The love between a seabird and a fish was just an accident. Our love, however, was always flawed. Turning away, I couldn't bring myself to say goodbye..."

After she finished singing, she clapped first.

"I learned!"

"You learn very quickly," Qin Chuan said. "The clan leader is indeed talented. It takes ordinary people at least a few days to learn a new song, but you can sing the first verse in forty minutes."

"That's because you taught well." After saying this, Doria suddenly realized that her tone was too intimate and turned her face away slightly.

Qin Chuan pretended not to notice.

"That's all for today. Tomorrow we'll continue practicing the second verse, and then try singing it together."

"Okay." Doria nodded. "See you tomorrow."

Qin Chuan stood up and walked towards the door.

As he reached the door, Doria called out to him from behind.

"Master Qin Chuan".

Qin Chuan turned around.

Doria sat on the sofa, her long, silvery-white hair cascading over her shoulders, her pale blue eyes appearing exceptionally clear against the backdrop of the fish reflected in the glass wall.

"Thank you for teaching me to sing," she said. "I'm so happy."

"I'm happy too." Qin Chuan knew that scheming wouldn't work. "See you tomorrow, clan leader."

"See you tomorrow."

Qin Chuan stepped out of the castle, the sea breeze blowing on his face.

On the third day, things went smoothly. She had started asking to learn the song on her own initiative, which showed that she had developed a dependence on it.

Two more days, and it should be almost done.
