Desert Island Infrastructure: Claiming the System Brings Many Blessings
Chapter 314 Underwater Palace
Qin Chuan had a very fulfilling five days.
Every morning I spend half a day with Diana in the Centaur Kingdom, and in the afternoon I sing on Canghai Island. In the evening, I return to the villa camp to rest. It's a routine of three points, a steady rhythm.
Now, the mermaid chieftain's heart has been won over.
When Doria lifted her head from Qin Chuan's arms, her eyes were still red, but she couldn't hide the smile on her face.
"Don't leave today," she said.
Qin Chuan looked out the window; it was already dark. The fish in the glass wall had become blurry shadows in the night, with only the occasional luminous jellyfish drifting by, leaving a trail of eerie blue light.
"it is good."
Doria stood up, took Qin Chuan's hand, and walked out.
"Let's go have dinner first. Then I'll take you for a walk in the back garden."
Dinner was served on the open-air terrace on the second floor of the castle, in the same spot as when Qin Chuan came last time, directly facing the sea.
But this time there were only two people.
There was no Diana, no Lu Yao, and no maids serving her. Doria dismissed everyone.
There weren't many dishes on the table: four seafood dishes and a pot of fruit wine. The dishes included coral fish soup, deep-sea shrimp sashimi, grilled sea urchin, and shellfish rice.
Doria sat opposite Qin Chuan, the moonlight shining on her long, silvery-white hair, giving it a soft, silvery glow.
Her pale pink tulle dress fluttered gently in the night breeze, revealing shoulders and arms that glowed white.
"Eat up." She ladled a bowl of coral fish soup for Qin Chuan and handed it to him with both hands.
Qin Chuan took the bowl and took a sip. It still tasted the same—fresh, delicious, and lingering.
"Do you usually eat alone?"
"Most of the time, yes." Doria picked up a piece of shrimp, put it in her mouth, chewed it a couple of times, and swallowed it. "Occasionally, Lu Yao will keep me company. But she is, after all, my subordinate, so I can't really relax during meals."
"Then I'll come eat with you from now on."
Doria looked up at him, her eyes crinkling into a smile.
"it is good."
After finishing their meal, the two came down from the open-air platform and walked along the stone path behind the castle toward the back garden.
The back garden is built on the hillside and is planted with various tropical flowers in layers according to the terrain.
Bougainvillea, frangipani, and hibiscus—their colors were indistinct in the moonlight, but their fragrance was intense, drifting in waves with the sea breeze.
The stone path is lined with low, neatly trimmed shrubs. At the end of the path is a small pavilion perched on the edge of a cliff, facing the sea.
Doria walked beside Qin Chuan, their hands clasped together, chatting as they walked.
The two walked to the pavilion on the edge of the cliff. The pavilion was a white stone pillar structure, with vines climbing all over the top. Standing in the pavilion and looking out, the entire sea stretched out before them, and the moonlight shattered into countless silver specks on the surface of the water.
"It's beautiful," Qin Chuan said.
"Mmm." Doria leaned on his shoulder, her long, silvery-white hair brushing against his neck. "I often come here alone to sit. To look at the sea, to daydream. I used to think being alone was fine, but now I think... being with someone is better."
Qin Chuan reached out and put his arm around her shoulder, pulling her closer to him.
Doria nestled into his arms, her face pressed against his chest.
"Qin Chuan".
"Um?"
"Your heart is beating so fast."
"...That's because you were standing too close."
Doria laughed, her laughter muffled in his chest, making his heart itch.
The two sat in the pavilion for a long time, from when the moon rose to its highest point until it began to set in the west.
We talked a lot. From songs to life, and from life to ideals.
Doria said her ideal was to free the mermaid race from Medusa's oppression and prevent them from having to offer precious deep-sea ingredients every year.
Qin Chuan said his ideal was to establish his own power on the Diet Continent, so powerful that no one would dare to bully him or the people around him.
"Then our ideals are the same," Doria said. "We both want to protect the people we care about."
"right."
Night fell. The sea breeze grew cool, and Doria's shoulders broke out in goosebumps.
Qin Chuan took off his coat and draped it over her shoulders.
"Let's go back. It's too late."
Doria lifted her head from his embrace, her pale blue eyes gleaming in the moonlight.
"Go to my bedchamber."
She said this in a soft but firm voice.
Doria's bedroom is located at the deepest part of the castle.
The two walked through a long corridor, down a spiral staircase, and arrived at the basement.
The walls of the corridor, like those in the karaoke room, were made of transparent glass filled with seawater.
But the water here is deeper and the light is dimmer. Only a few bioluminescent jellyfish and deep-sea fish swim in the darkness, bringing out clusters of eerie blue light.
At the end of the corridor was a large door inlaid with seashells. Doria pushed the door open and led Qin Chuan inside.
The palace was very large.
The ground was paved with white coral stones, smooth as a mirror.
The four walls are also made of glass and seawater, but the glass walls here are thicker, and the seawater inside is deeper. Occasionally, large deep-sea fish swim past outside the walls, their huge shadows flashing across the walls.
The ceiling is a dome structure, inlaid with countless tiny, luminous pearls, simulating the starry sky. The pearls emit a soft, faint glow, enveloping the entire room in a pale blue halo.
In the center of the room was a huge round bed, more than three meters in diameter. The bed was covered with white silk sheets, and the quilt was pale blue and as thin as a cicada's wing. Semi-transparent gauze curtains hung around the bed, swaying gently in the slight airflow.
"This is my bedroom," Doria said softly. "I've never let any outsiders in."
Qin Chuan looked around. The design of this bedroom was completely different from Diana's.
Diana's palace is designed in the style of a starry meadow, grand and expansive. Doria's palace is designed in the style of a deep sea and starry sky, quiet and mysterious.
Doria stood by the bed, her back to Qin Chuan. Her long, silvery-white hair reached her waist, shimmering with a deep blue light under the glow of the pearly starlight.
Her shoulders were trembling slightly.
"Doria?" Qin Chuan walked over and stood behind her.
"I'm a little nervous," she said softly. "I've lived for hundreds of years, and I've never... been with a man..."
Qin Chuan reached out and grasped her shoulder. His palm rested on her shoulder; her skin was cool and smooth, and he could feel the slight trembling of the muscles beneath.
"Don't be nervous," Qin Chuan said softly. "We'll take it slow."
Doria turned around, her pale blue eyes shining brightly in the pearly starlight. Her cheeks were flushed a light pink, and her lips were slightly parted.
Qin Chuan lowered his head and kissed her.
This kiss lasted much longer than the one at the karaoke bar. Doria was stiff at first, her lips pressed tightly together, unsure how to respond. But Qin Chuan was patient, gently and slowly guiding her.
After a while, her body relaxed, her lips softened, and she began to respond awkwardly.
Qin Chuan's hand slid from her shoulder to her waist. Doria's waist was extremely slender; when he wrapped his arm around her, his fingertips could almost touch his other hand.
The fabric of the sheer dress slid under his fingers, revealing a warm and soft body beneath.
Doria's breathing became rapid.
"Qin Chuan... I'm not very good at it..."
"It's alright. Leave it to me."
Qin Chuan gently pushed her down onto the bed. The white silk sheets wrinkled beneath her, and her long, silvery-white hair spread out on the pillow like a silver waterfall.
The pale pink tulle dress was almost transparent under the pearly sheen, revealing her fair skin underneath. Its full, rounded curves rose and fell with her rapid breathing.
Qin Chuan bent down.
The gauze curtains swayed gently around the two, and deep-sea fish swam silently through the darkness in the glass wall. Pearly starlight spilled onto their intertwined bodies, their shadows overlapping on the white coral floor.
I don't know how much time has passed.
Doria lay sprawled on the bed, her long, silvery-white hair disheveled and covering half of it. Her sheer dress had long been pushed up above her waist, revealing skin glistening with a thin layer of sweat.
Doria closed her eyes, and her breathing quickly became even.
Qin Chuan lay on the bed, looking at the faint light of the pearly starry sky above him, pondering what to do next.
The mermaid chieftain has been captured.
With Diana included, two of the four patriarchs have already been won over.
The remaining ones are Vivian of the Spirit Cat Clan and Medusa of the Medusa Clan.
As for Vivian, the ancient books say you should send gifts and get her to drink. That's not difficult; he has plenty of good stuff.
As for Medusa... it's still early. We'll deal with her when we're strong enough.
Qin Chuan closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.
