Having become a God of Food, the ancient sword demon's strength also increased. Its body could freely adjust its size, shrinking to a minimum height of three meters. At three meters tall, it could easily penetrate soil and rock with minimal resistance.

Moreover, the structure of the metal mountain range is incredibly complex. The wreckage of a starship from tens of thousands of years ago is piled up together, with pipes, interlayers, and cavities everywhere inside, like a giant labyrinth.

When flying in the air, it's a straight-line pursuit, and Bataan's speed advantage is overwhelming.

But traveling underground is a different story. You can't fly in a straight line underground; you have to go around. The structure of metal mountains interferes with energy perception, increasing the difficulty of tracking.

Qin Chuan's strengths lie in its flexibility and stealth.

Thinking of this, Qin Chuan immediately summoned the ancient sword demon.

Dark purple energy surged from Qin Chuan's body.

Qin Chuan controlled the three-meter-tall ancient sword demon, which plunged headfirst into the metal ground beneath his feet at an almost vertical angle.

puff.

The metal floor cracked open under the impact of the sword demon. Shards flew and dust billowed.

Qin Chuan went inside.

After becoming a beginner-level Food God, the Ancient Sword Demon's abilities indeed increased significantly. With his three-meter frame, the resistance from metal and rock was almost negligible when traversing underground. His body passed smoothly through gaps in metal plates and rock strata, as easily as swimming in water.

Qin Chuan didn't stop and burrowed deeper into the ground at full speed.

Ten meters, twenty meters, fifty meters.

The temperature underground was higher than on the surface, and the metal, being a conductor of heat, caused the surface of the sword demon to warm slightly. The sounds in his ears had completely changed. The wind on the ground had disappeared, replaced by the creaking sound of metal plates being pushed apart.

One hundred meters.

Qin Chuan felt a vibration coming from above his head.

The tremor was very strong, as if something had hit the ground.

It's Bataan.

Badan caught up with Qin Chuan and tracked him down to the location where Qin Chuan had entered the ground.

"That rat!" Badan's voice came down from the ground, passing through layers of metal and rock. By the time it reached Qin Chuan's ears, it had become muffled, but he could still hear it clearly.

Immediately afterwards, Qin Chuan sensed a second moving object appearing in the strata.

Bataan also crawled in.

"I knew he would follow," Qin Chuan cursed inwardly.

Batan is an earth-type ability user, and traveling underground is like a fish returning to water for him.

But Qin Chuan wasn't betting on whether Bataan could be traversed, but rather on its speed.

Flying on the ground, in open space, the fire-based jets can accelerate without limit. Bataan's speed is more than twice that of Qin Chuan.

It's different underground.

The underground structure of the metal mountain range is extremely complex. Layers of starship wreckage from tens of thousands of years ago have formed countless winding passages, dead ends, and structural cavities. Straight-line flight is impossible in this environment.

Furthermore, fire-based attacks are unusable underground. The surrounding area is entirely composed of solid matter, leaving no space to utilize fire-based attacks.

Bataan's two major advantages, speed and fire attacks, are greatly weakened underground.

Qin Chuan controlled the three-meter-tall ancient sword demon, nimbly traversing the metal interlayer.

Turn left, turn right, dive down, surface. Go around large pieces of metal debris, squeeze through narrow gaps.

The Sword Demon's mobility is excellent after shrinking. Its three-meter size allows it to move freely through most metal pipes and cavities.

As Qin Chuan ran, he used his Rinnegan to scan the terrain ahead, searching for the most complex and winding route.

Bataan was chasing them from behind.

Qin Chuan could sense his presence. Earth-type ability users are quite efficient at traversing underground. Badan's body was like an awl, forcefully chiseling through metal and rock, leaving a tunnel five or six meters in diameter behind Qin Chuan.

But his speed was indeed slow.

On the ground, Bataan's flight distance per second is more than twice that of Qin Chuan. Underground, this ratio is compressed to less than 1.5 times.

Qin Chuan chose a more circuitous route. He made sharp turns, sudden changes of direction, squeezed into an extremely narrow gap, and then exited from the other side.

These movements were effortless for the three-meter-tall ancient sword demon, but for Badan, with his towering two-meter-tall stature and his size while traversing underground, they were quite strenuous.

"You think I can't do anything to you just because you've burrowed into the ground?" Badan's voice came through the earth.

Qin Chuan ignored him.

All his attention was focused on scanning the terrain ahead. To the left was a metal pipe curved at ninety degrees, its diameter just large enough for a three-meter-tall person to pass through. Qin Chuan crawled inside without hesitation.

The inner walls of the pipes are rusted, and in some places, traces of energy lines from ten thousand years ago remain. They have completely lost their function, leaving only some dim metal conduits.

After three bends, the pipe led to a larger cavity. The cavity was likely an internal compartment of a starship, with a crooked light fixture hanging from the ceiling.

Qin Chuan passed through the cavity and then crawled out through the wall on the other side.

Batan caught up with him at the pipe entrance. He was much larger than the pipe's diameter, and the metal walls were deformed by his force, making a piercing tearing sound.

This is the advantage that comes from the difference in body size.

Qin Chuan is small, he is big.

Small ones are agile, large ones are cumbersome.

In this labyrinthine underground structure, small is king.

Time passed by, second by second.

Qin Chuan had no idea how long he had been traveling underground. There were no landmarks, no sky, and no sun. He could only estimate his time by assessing the depletion of his mental energy.

About twenty minutes later.

The distance between Bataan and the group behind them had increased from one or two hundred meters to five hundred meters.

Another fifteen minutes passed.

700 meters.

Qin Chuan's route choices became increasingly cunning. He specifically chose to drill through the most complex metal structures, some of which were so narrow that even the ancient sword demon had to squeeze through sideways.

Badan was finding it increasingly difficult to keep up. Although his earth-based abilities were strong, their penetration speed was reduced when facing the metal material of a starship from ten thousand years ago. The hardness of that metal far exceeded that of ordinary rock.

Qin Chuan could sense that Badan's aura was gradually weakening.

About half an hour later.

Within the scanning range of the Rinnegan, Batan's signal had become very weak. The distance was at least three kilometers.

Qin Chuan breathed a sigh of relief, but did not stop.

He continued his journey underground, his route constantly changing direction erratically. He would change direction every so often, giving his opponent no discernible pattern.

They ran for another ten minutes or so.

Bataan's signal disappeared.

Within a 60-kilometer radius of the Rinnegan, no energy fluctuations of Batan could be detected.

Either the distance was more than sixty kilometers, or the metallic mountain material completely blocked his signal.

In either case, we are safe for now.

Qin Chuan slowed down, but didn't stop. He continued to travel underground at a moderate pace for about ten more minutes, and only stopped in a relatively spacious cavity after confirming that there were no pursuers behind him.

The ancient sword demon's feet slammed into the metal ground, producing two muffled thuds.

Qin Chuan was panting heavily inside the Sword Demon's body.

"They ran away."

My heart was still pounding. Cold sweat soaked through my clothes.

The oppressive atmosphere of Bataan was simply too intense. That terrifying aura, which could send shivers down your spine even from dozens of kilometers away, still lingers in my memory.

"A mid-level Food God." Qin Chuan murmured to himself, "The gap is too big."

10,050 vs. 30,000.

Even with the Food God's psychic abilities and the ancient sword demon, it's still not enough.

We must continue to grow stronger.

But the most pressing issue right now is that Bataan may not have given up yet.
