Marvel Magic Case Files
Chapter 1071 and Chapter 1067: Exchange of Interests
Chapter 1071 (First Update)
The Sorcerer Supreme and Mordo witnessed the War Machine destroy the Wall Street Stock Exchange and then teleport away. Although Mordo wanted to say something, the Sorcerer Supreme had no objection to his favorite student's actions. Athena, too, was very satisfied with Salomon's punishment and considered it a display of regal conduct.
"I believe him." Athena didn't say much, but instead exuded a confident air. The Sorcerer Supreme had the same expression; both believed they had the upper hand in the game they were secretly manipulating.
The key to this victory or defeat lay in Salomon's humanity. Both the Sorcerer Supreme and Athena believed Salomon would follow the path his destiny had ordained, but Athena thought he would retain more of his humanity, clinging to the past because she believed she had taught him beauty and wisdom, and thus he would have more affection for the Olympian pantheon. The Sorcerer Supreme disagreed, arguing that if the Olympian pantheon stood in his way, even Athena could not escape death. He believed the Olympian pantheon should be persuaded to abandon certain plans to avoid total annihilation, ideally becoming Salomon's ally.
Neither Asgard nor Olympus were considered gods in the eyes of Salomon and the Sorcerer Supreme. At best, they were merely blindly arrogant natives of the real universe ruling their own kingdoms. Only Odin came close to the concept of a true god. True gods resided in another spiritual dimension, a pure collection of concepts, nourished by any emotion in the world, like a tumor growing in this universe. The Olympian pantheon, existing in the gap between reality and illusion, was merely a real-world being with powerful extradimensional abilities, not a true enemy. As long as it didn't hinder humanity's future rise, the Sorcerer Supreme believed Salomon would allow the Olympian pantheon to peacefully perish in a corner of the world.
If some members of the Olympian pantheon saw this as an opportunity, Salomon would show no mercy. The Sorcerer Supreme had immense confidence in the ideas and execution he had instilled in his disciples. In just a few years, Salomon had transformed a dilapidated underground city beneath Rome into an organization capable of rivaling many of the world's greatest powers. Given more time, that grand goal was certain to be achieved. This was why the Sorcerer Supreme was willing to defy his own ironclad rules and use the Time Stone to help him establish the Martian Foundry and create the Praetorian Guard.
Mordo was completely unaware of this. He merely suspected that his junior brother was now planning to abandon magic and specialize in science—he didn't care about the problems between human nations in the real world; he was a Kamar-Taj proponent, focused on dealing with extradimensional threats, the eternal enemy of intelligent beings. In his view, Salomon's establishment of a nation was merely a means to deal with extraterrestrial threats in the real world, and after resolving the extinction crisis facing humanity in the real world, he would become the next Sorcerer Supreme.
After all, compared to threats from the real universe, threats from outer dimensions are far more terrifying.
Mordo's thoughts were laid bare before the Sorcerer Supreme, who felt he should find time to teach Mordo a lesson. Both cosmic and extradimensional threats are terrifying threats humanity will face in the future; focusing solely on extradimensional threats will ensure Kamar-Taj's historical mission never ends. Whether the sorcerers like it or not, Kamar-Taj's ultimate goal is to render itself useless, just like the kingdom established by Salomon, disappearing immediately after fulfilling its mission, leaving the world to a new generation of humanity that values reason and science.
The Sorcerer Supreme knew that this required iron-fisted leadership; otherwise, newly emerging interest groups would always find ways to obstruct the process of achieving the goal. The lessons of Camelot are still applicable today. The same situation occurred in Kamar-Taj. After Salomon's goal was achieved, the sorcerer families, and even Kamar-Taj itself, became obsolete.
"Then let's see what the future holds," the Sorcerer Supreme said softly, his tone carrying a chilling certainty and confidence that sent a shiver down Athena's spine. However, the proud goddess of wisdom would never admit defeat, even though she had lost to the Sorcerer Supreme many times before. "Salomon's future is already decided; there are only a few minor differences," the Supreme said, watching the super-heavy assault transport ship take off. "This time, I bet you a bowl of Greek yogurt—something you'll make yourself, Athena."

The anti-gravity jet motorcycle possesses extremely high acceleration and braking capabilities, making it one of the standard light weapons used by the Imperial Guard to hunt low-flying targets. The twin-barreled heavy explosive gun, fusion microwave emitter, plasma cannon, and laser cannon mounted on the front of the motorcycle have proven effective in numerous missions. Supiluliumas's anti-gravity jet motorcycle, equipped with a high-powered laser cannon, flew out of the super-heavy assault transport boat and landed beside him, guided by an automatic guidance system. Hammurabi walked to the opened ramp and gestured to Supiluliumas from above, instructing him to finish the mission quickly; the surveillance mission in South America still required the Imperial Guard's attention.
Supiluliumas sent back a joking, offensive message via the communications network, then mounted his anti-gravity hover jet motorcycle and sped toward the white trail of flame heading toward the war machine on the horizon, completely oblivious to the impact of his engine noise on the mortals inside the United Nations headquarters.
After all, they've already suffered enough; a little noise won't make a difference.
The largest transport aircraft currently in service with the U.S. military is the C-5 Galaxy, a large military transport aircraft developed by Lockheed Martin. It can deploy a U.S. division globally within 30 days, relying on U.S. military bases worldwide and aerial refueling. The Immortal City's super-heavy assault transport ship is similar in size to the C-5 Galaxy, but possesses more robust armor, a longer range, higher speed, a higher service ceiling, and a larger carrying capacity. It is essentially a mobile fortress within the atmosphere, capable of transporting soldiers behind enemy lines despite enemy air defense fire.
All vehicles in the Immortal City are named after legendary creatures. The standard model of the assault transport ship is named Eagle, and the variants are named Thunderbird and Griffin, collectively known as the Eagle type. The standard model of the super-heavy assault transport ship is named after Odin's eight-legged winged horse Sleipnir, and the variant is named Pegasus. The performance of these aircraft, collectively known as the Pegasus type, is worthy of the name.
The Martian Foundry proposed a highly dangerous plan: to send a super-heavy assault transport ship to low Earth orbit, outside the range of enemy air defenses, and then drop two heavy tanks, temporarily equipped with anti-gravity thrusters, along with their crews, through a ramp hatch for a decapitation strike via orbital drop. Alternatively, it could be modified into a bombardment gunship equipped with massive bombs or Apocalyptic-level weapons, allowing it to launch a strategic strike directly at the target from orbit, providing fire support for the ground-based decapitation strike. By the time the enemy's air defense system reacts and tries to retaliate, the super-heavy assault transport ship would have already returned to a high-orbit space station beyond the reach of ballistic missiles, provided that the enemy's air defense system has not yet been destroyed by ground forces.
The Pegasus-class super-heavy assault transport ships were perfectly capable of handling this mission, and the Martian foundry could produce enough aircraft for the genetically modified warriors. For the resource-intensive Immortal City, this relatively inexpensive alternative was a perfect fit. These high-performance air fortresses naturally had incredibly powerful engines. The terrifying noise generated by their massive thrust could be heard throughout the entire city. The engine noise during their descent from the clouds nearly shattered all the windows of the United Nations headquarters, and the hurricane-like blasts of steam and a burning smell sent ordinary people who hadn't managed to get into their homes tumbling over. The commotion was even greater than when the army and war machines were transported to the United Nations headquarters, even drowning out the roar of the war machines moving through South Manhattan.
Some military-trained diplomats and think tanks immediately recognized the technological and strategic value of such an airborne fortress. They observed that the combination of the forward-swept wing structure, the vertical takeoff and landing capability of the transport aircraft, and the dual-purpose atmospheric and air-to-ground engines was a materials science marvel that current human technology could not achieve.
More importantly, Latvia pledged to share some technology in exchange for resources and support. This was Latvia's reward after its intimidation, and once they received the technology exchange list, even the initially neutral countries sided with Latvia. This was because the list covered areas such as engine design, materials, and high-end chips, and it involved providing technological support rather than selling products, thus eliminating the barrier of technological monopoly.
This is a deal that no one would refuse. Representatives from almost all the countries on the list saw it as a golden opportunity to break free from the technological monopoly of high-end manufacturing in Europe and America. Latvia will provide these countries with technologies far exceeding those of Europe and America, supporting their domestic chip factories to replace the monopoly of companies like Qualcomm and Intel, and ensuring the development and security of information-based military capabilities.
