Chapter 1078, Section 1074: Fourth-Order Tactics (Second Update)

Salomon wasn't waiting for Peter Parker's reply; he'd simply stumbled upon the teenager. His purpose in coming to New York wasn't to persuade a teenager against going too far and risk dying on the battlefield. He didn't care about Peter Parker's life or death, and he knew that American teenagers like Peter Parker, raised on a system of indoctrination, couldn't possibly understand *The Unified Truth*. His main goal was to discuss a business deal with Tony Stark. Although Latvia had now cornered the United States, if the White House could stall long enough and maintain sufficient influence in public opinion, this minor difficulty could be easily overcome. It wouldn't offer much help to Latvia in resolving its current predicament in Europe.

Latvia's territory now ends at its southern border in Eastern Europe. A secret alliance of resistance and infiltration is forming, comprised of many Eastern European countries that are either members of NATO or aspire to join. These groups, all secretly trained by US military advisors and not located at the large military bases previously targeted by Latvia, were able to escape Latvia's war against NATO. Originally, these groups targeted Russia, but Latvia's sudden rise has led them to focus their attention southward. The Wild Army, responsible for border defense, has reported capturing Eastern European soldiers fully equipped with American weaponry and wearing the Black Sun insignia.

From them, the Immortal City obtained more unexpected yet reasonable information.

The origins of Nazi ideology lie in the United States. From eugenics to racial discrimination, both stem from America. This is a mindset rooted in hegemony and populism, manifesting itself in different forms throughout history. The Third Reich was simply the most blatant example of its manifestation. Under the long-standing American infiltration and control over Europe, racism labeled as white supremacy is merely one characteristic of Nazi ideology. However, both the left and right wings within the United States exhibit extremely strong exclusivity; the term "Nazi" applies to both. The "white left's sanctimonious" idealism and white supremacy are simply two sides of the same coin.

The opposition of the Western powers to the Third Reich during World War II was not entirely motivated by justice. Besides the European nations resisting the invasion, the United States profited immensely from the war. At that time, the Western powers all harbored the ambition of unifying Europe, and the Third Reich was simply one of those putting it into practice. Moreover, the Third Reich shared an economic system with the Allied powers, and the main figures behind its major banks are still the heads of international financial groups today. It was less about opposing the Third Reich's invasion and more about a financial war waged beneath the surface. As for the innocent civilians who paid the price, the ruling classes of the powers were indifferent. France's swift surrender was not entirely due to the Maginot Line being bypassed, but rather because the French Communist Party was a greater threat to the French ruling class at the time; the Nazis were not the biggest enemy. Furthermore, the Treaty of Versailles, using the Third Reich to suppress the French partisans with noble ideals, willing to defend their homeland and fight for human justice, was one of the true objectives of the French ruling class at the time.

Latvia's gradual control of European communications networks has indirectly weakened the US propaganda offensive; however, this has not prevented some countries, unclear about the situation, from joining the plan. Victoria Hand and Constantine have reported that the CIA's jihadist training camps in the Middle East have made new moves. Latest news indicates that the CIA plans to transport those Middle Eastern jihadists to Eastern Europe for training, and then recruit soldiers from the millions of refugees in Europe to form a reserve army.

When the inevitable Latvian unification war resumes, these refugees who originally entered Europe will, with the support of the United States and some European countries, transform into the new Nazis of Europe. Just look at the atrocities committed by Israel, now cloaked in the halo of a WWII victim, against Palestine using Zionism to make it clear that the Nazis hated by the Western powers are simply those who don't fight for their interests. As long as the Nazis align with their interests, then they are Nazis.

Coupled with a continuous supply of drugs, a global propaganda war, and other means, World War III in human history could very well erupt. This is America's solution: as long as Latvia doesn't stop its expansion, a camp fighting against Latvia's expansion and seizing the high ground of public opinion will emerge in Europe. At that time, Nazi will no longer be a derogatory term, but rather a symbol of freedom and democracy. After the market closure ends, America's propaganda war will begin, with American officials visiting Europe joining forces with cooperating European countries to condemn Latvia and establish a new alliance. However, there is some good news: Latvia's monarch is a ruthless figure who has no hesitation in using weapons of mass destruction. Coupled with Latvia's absolute control over space military power and the highly offensive and integrative nature of "Unified Truth," once this fascist alliance is established, the deaths of hundreds of millions of people are better than letting this ideology, which should have been eradicated, poison the world.

Latvia will then be the first to trigger a global nuclear war, and all the beneficiaries will only face death.

However, Latvinia did not want to make this its first option, because the Latvinian monarch did not want to waste any resources that could be used to resist the alien fleet invasion. Life was naturally one of the resources, and even if those people wanted to die, Latvinia would find ways to make their deaths meaningful. All life must contribute to the future of the human race, even if it meant creating machine servants, it was far better than letting them become victims of Nazi ideology.

Of course, Salomon was fully aware of the nature of the *United Truth*. Its exclusivity was comparable to other ideologies; its goal was to unite all humanity, not all intelligent beings. Even extraterrestrial races capable of contributing to human dominance were unlikely to be accepted (such as the Asgardians). Therefore, Salomon slightly broadened his definition of subhumans, reducing the radicalism of future anthropocentrism. He believed that under his control, such more extreme ideologies would not spiral out of control—because Latvinia was more efficient than any other political system in the world, his authority surpassed that of anyone within the system, and no one could disobey his words and commands. As long as he controlled himself (a point the Sorcerer Supreme and Athena had instilled in him from childhood), his dictatorship would not cause too many problems or give rise to too many relatively extreme ideologies.

"Get in." Salomon didn't reach out, and Happy Hogan didn't press a button; the back door opened automatically.

Tony Stark, still sporting the same perfunctory smile he wore when dealing with the media, casually settled into his seat as soon as he got in the car, pushing the panicked Peter Parker aside. Salomon had spoken with Tony Stark at the hospital, and even as one of the most naive among the beneficiaries, Tony Stark had to admit that this future was incredibly terrifying, and that he would become one of the instigators pushing the world towards that horrific future.

However, Salomon never overestimated the methods Americans, lacking political, economic, and historical education, could come up with—and sure enough, Tony Stark's suggestion was to accept the White House's invitation to become Secretary of Defense and change the system from within. Salomon made it clear to Tony Stark that if he clung to this naive illusion, his life would be filled with constant failures, and even Stark Industries would cease to exist. Tony Stark was unable to deal with the vested interests he had harmed. The title of superhero sounded impressive, boasting a large and unwavering following, but those who controlled public opinion could easily bring a superhero down from his pedestal and tarnish his reputation.

He wasn't the only one with similar thoughts.

Black people have suffered from severe discrimination in the U.S. military, a situation that hasn't changed much even in modern times. Colonel Rhodes joined the military hoping to change this societal discrimination against Black people from within the system, but in reality, this hasn't had much of a positive effect. Countless people online dislike Colonel Rhodes, some even calling him a high-tech gorilla. They argue that without Tony Stark's knowledge and products, Colonel Rhodes would be nothing—which is true. However, these people overlook the fact that Colonel Rhodes, a Black man from the slums, didn't rise to his current position solely through connections to Tony Stark's military-industrial complex. His own hard work and innate talent cannot be ignored.

"Thank you." Tony Stark's smile faded, and he sincerely thanked him. "Thank you for saving Rhodey."

"Have you thought it through, Stark?" Neither of the two in the back seat paid any attention to Peter Parker, who couldn't get a word in edgewise. From some indescribable angle, Peter Parker sensed this was a conversation that could change the world and the future; he tried to keep his breathing down, not wanting to disturb the other two. Salomon looked Tony Stark into the eyes. "Aren't you going to give up on this stupid idea?"

"Give me some time, I have something else to take care of," Tony Stark said. He was referring to the Avengers and the Sokovia Accords. Although the agreement had been delayed for a long time, the next generation of main combat force for the US military consisted of these enhanced individuals. The previously stalled super-soldier program was restarted, and no one could stop it, because the whole world had witnessed the performance of the Latvian monarch. It proved that the deterrent power of a walking nuclear bomb was terrifying.
