Chapter 1103 and Chapter 1099: Operational Orders

Chapter 1103, Operational Orders (First Update)

"This thing is Ross? How did he become like this? Did you kill him?"

"No, it's not that easy." The black-armored giant looked at the mangled skull in his hand, then casually tossed it into the burning gasoline, letting the precious brain sample be cooked by the high temperature. He wanted to ensure that all the proteins were denatured by the heat, preventing the investigation team that arrived later from extracting Red Hulk's tissue samples.

Red Hulk's cells are currently dividing at a normal rate, with numerous stem cells constantly differentiating to repair his organs. His unusually viscous blood is rapidly clotting at the wound surface, and his heart is slowly pumping blood at a minimum speed to prevent blood clots, delivering the necessary components for the body's repair to the wound. It seems that a new head will soon emerge from his severed neck; supernatural forces will allow Ross's brain to be perfectly repaired and retain his memories.

He planned to have Red Hulk's body retrieved later, as both the Hulk's body sample and Ross's memories would be helpful for the Immortal City to understand the Gamma Project, the American tycoon's demon worship, and human trafficking. He kept a close eye on the filthy Tony Stark, wary of any attempt by Stark to seize Red Hulk's body. Seemingly sensing the black-armored giant's vigilance, Tony Stark simply shook his head.

"Hulk's awake, I need your help." He pointed to the massive body being dragged out and the scattered corpses around it. Tony Stark didn't know what was happening here, nor did he want to think about who had created those soldiers' corpses. This wasn't the time to investigate such matters; he didn't want to deal with one problem before another. "But Hulk is our friend, so don't be so...brutal, okay?" Seeing the armored giant's indifference, and given Friday's report that Hulk was steadily approaching, Tony Stark grew anxious.

"I promise I won't tell you where you're from, I promise you." Tony Stark glanced at the surviving American troops stationed in Germany around him. After such a horrific battle, the soldiers still holding weapons didn't know who to point their guns at. In fact, the Black Armor Giant had already destroyed the command chain of this army in the first instance. According to the order of command, the captain, who was currently the highest-ranking officer, should have taken over command. However, the situation before them was clearly not something ordinary soldiers could handle. After informing headquarters of the situation, the captain ordered the remaining soldiers to find vehicles that had not yet been destroyed as cover, and then entrusted their lives to God, praying that nothing bad would happen to them next.

"They don't know about your relationship with Latveria, so I suggest you let them go. Otherwise, I'll have to face both you and that big guy at the same time. It's more important to calm that big guy down than to kill these soldiers, and I believe that's what your master wants you to do too. Just don't blow his legs off like last time. I need to find a way to restore his mind to normal. Do you have any ideas?"

"No." The black-armored giant's voice was like a jet ski hurtling low overhead. He released his grip on the corpse, sheathed his greatsword, and then took out a new magazine to load ammunition into his explosive pistol. The explosive pistol, connected to the combat system, sent a loading notification to the helmet's HUD display; the system self-check was complete and ready to fire. He switched the pistol to full-auto mode and then checked the aiming system feedback again.

"Get out of the way."

"Oh, you're willing to help?" Tony Stark's tone was laced with sarcasm. He sidestepped, glancing at the Hulk in the distance; it seemed the Quinjet fighters in the sky were helping to distract the Hulk. As the armored giant passed by, Tony Stark caught the stench of blood and gasoline smoke emanating from his black cloak. Too much had happened today; he had no time to dwell on it. In fact, he didn't know whether to continue preventing Steve Rogers and his men from leaving Germany. He was completely incapable of carrying out the Sokovia Accords. Tony Stark closed his armor and took off, leaving a trail of blazing white flames as he ascended into the sky.

"Remember, don't be too rough. We need Bruce Banner," he said. "I'll help you; you won't be alone. Remember to connect to the communications channel; I know your armor has that capability."

The armored giant didn't charge directly at the green beast. "Soldiers, grab your weapons." He strode to the side, facing a large group of tense soldiers. He lowered his head, staring into their eyes, a terrifying pressure gradually inflicting on their minds. "Arrange for machine gunners and infantry to block off Highways 9 and 14 near Halle Airport, prohibiting civilian vehicles from passing. I want all Javelin anti-tank missile operators assigned to a Humvee, with sufficient ammunition. One team of infantry fighting vehicles and anti-tank missile operators will flank Halle Airport and then tighten the encirclement, coordinating fire to suppress the Hulk and gradually drive him out of the Leipzig Airport area. Another team with the same configuration will be on standby in the town of Gresen, north of Halle Airport. If the Hulk goes to Gresen, I need you to drive him to the open area to the east. This is not a request, Captain, this is an order."

Facing a towering, iron-black giant over two meters tall, with a skull-shaped visor and blood-red eyes, anyone would feel fear. This was especially true given that the giant wielded a large-caliber pistol the size of a submachine gun and a giant sword as tall as a man. Not long ago, the soldiers had witnessed their highest commander transform into a red monster. In comparison, the humans in power armor were more trustworthy; everyone knew it was a waste to risk their lives for that red monster, especially since it was already dead.

Although the soldiers still did not know the identity of the black-armored giant, the captain could only nod in agreement after thinking about it for a while, because this giant seemed likely to kill all those who disobeyed orders, so that none of the survivors would survive.

"However, we lack firepower, and we don't have enough depleted uranium armor-piercing rounds," the captain said boldly. "The weapons we have might not be able to harm that monster."

"I can." The black-armored giant slung his pistol back over his waist. "Wherever you drive Hulk, I'll take care of him there."

He got back on his motorcycle, started the engine, and chased after Tony Stark, who was already locked in combat with the Hulk.

"Sir." Only after the black-armored giant had left did a soldier approach. He frowned and asked, "That man just killed our brothers. Shouldn't we avenge them? Besides, we don't even know if he has command authority. Are we really going to obey his orders?"

“Our enemy isn’t him, Sergeant Black. That guy could have wiped us out, but he didn’t, did he?” The captain looked at the massive corpse lying beside him. Thick smoke rose from the wreckage, the plume almost filling the entire sky as far as the eye could see, the heat almost scorching even standing there. “We can’t deal with superhumans. Someone knows that, but they don’t value our lives, they treat them like disposable commodities. This is a personal vendetta now. The orders are clear, Sergeant Black: begin allocating remaining ammunition and ambush missions, assigning tasks to every makeshift squad. At least we can get rid of that Frankenstein. Oh, right…”

"What's wrong, Captain Bell?"

"After the operation is over, we'll all have a meeting." The captain hesitated for a moment. "Don't talk about this on the comms, just whisper it. No audio recordings, no written records, don't give those politicians an opportunity to cause us trouble. Everyone has to be there, even the civilians, understand? I'll give you time to contact your families back home; these calls won't be recorded. Be prepared, my friends, trouble might come sooner than we think, and it'll be difficult to deal with. We need to reach a consensus first. Make sure all your soldiers are like this, understand?"

Sergeant Black nodded, puzzled.

"We must do it," the captain said. "I'll take care of you, brothers, all of you. Grab your mission cards, take the operators, we're going to get started."

"I thought you weren't coming!" Tony Stark's voice came through the comms as soon as the channel opened. "I saw you talking to those soldiers. What are you planning to do? Lure him into the no man's land?" He raised his hand and fired a high-energy particle beam, drilling a charred hole in Hulk's skin and muscles. But the pain didn't seem to stop Hulk. The green beast grabbed the wreckage and threw it at Tony Stark, who was flying in the air.

Tony Stark deftly dodged it. "Wow! Your aim needs some work, my friend. If you were Banner, it wouldn't be a problem, but with you, it's hard to say."
