Chapter 1145 Productivity Determinism

Chapter 1145 Productivity Determinism (First Update)

"The media is right outside the palace. We should tell them to use public pressure to force the Latvians to agree to this decision," Queen Mother Ramonda said confidently as she paced back and forth in the meeting hall. "I know Latvians helped us, but the royal family absolutely cannot bear the responsibility for the civil war. Now that N. Jadaka is dead, his body has been taken by the rebels and fled into the Serpent Valley. Although we can shift the blame to him, N. Jadaka is, after all, of royal blood. Whether he or we take responsibility, it means damage to the royal image."

"The focus of the negotiations now isn't the royal family's honor, it's how Wakanda will face the world after opening up! The Latvinians are right, their situation is very similar to Wakanda's. We should unite to face the future, especially since an alien fleet is heading towards Earth!" Princess Shuri sat in a chair at the long table, her face full of indignation. "If you're worried about the royal family's honor, it's too late, Mom. When I told all the Wakandans about N. Jadaka and our father on television, the royal family's honor was already beyond repair."

"What right do you have to do this, Surrey?" The Queen Mother was clearly displeased. She hadn't expected her usually silent daughter to speak up for the Latvians. "The royal honor is the result of generations of family effort; you can't ruin it all by yourself! If you had used your father's name to force the army and air force to stage a coup, we wouldn't be facing all this trouble now!"

"Because I don't want civilians to die in a civil war, because the army and air force are loyal to the throne, not the person sitting on it! If they agree to a coup, how can we trust them?" Shuri also stood up from her seat. She now finally understood why Emperor Latvinia had criticized the Wakanda royal family for lacking necessary education. Not every Wakanda had the opportunity to receive a foreign education, to learn from the ever-changing world outside Wakanda. In fact, throughout history, only she and T'Challa had the opportunity to receive an outside education, and worse, the source of the foreign exchange funds that supported their studies abroad was not recorded.

In other words, it was money earned from smuggling vibranium, and the mastermind behind the smuggling was their father, T'Chaka. After that, the War Dogs underwent some personnel changes, including the War Dog who had infiltrated En Job's inner circle being left abroad. If the people of Wakanda knew about this, it would truly damage the royal family's reputation—smuggling vibranium is an absolute taboo in Wakanda. No matter how wronged En Job's father was, or how noble En Job's ideals were, once this taboo was violated, the people of Wakanda would not consider anything else. Shuri learned of this from the old War Dog and then tacitly concealed it, destroying all evidence. She didn't ask her mother if she knew about it, and in any case, she didn't intend to mention a single word about it in the future.

No one in the world cherishes the royal title more than she does, but she also knows how to use that title.

"You saw how terrifying those genetically modified soldiers were, killing machines. They would destroy anything in their path. If I hadn't stopped them, they planned to destroy the palace that night and kill everyone hiding inside, including you." Princess Surrey approached Queen Mother Ramonda, her expression filled with grief and indignation. "I told the civilians to stay home, to avoid the war, and not to interfere with the Latverians. I told them those genetically modified soldiers weren't invaders, and that they hadn't intentionally killed any unarmed civilians. I told them the truth, and they would be grateful to the royal family for saving their lives. Mother, you don't care about them at all; all you care about is the royal family's honor!"

"Remember your identity, you are a member of the royal family!"

"I am also a Wakanda, and I will not let you ruin Wakanda's future." Shuri looked at Dora Mirajane and her warhound beside her. These people had followed her from the border to bring back the Infernal Knights, organizing and assisting in the entire civil war. She was confident she could get them on her side. However, before things were beyond repair, she wanted to say a few more words to her mother. "We will face a war. Emperor Latvinia is right; Wakanda cannot face a war waged by Western powers alone. Even if we win the final victory, the result will be civilians starving to death or dying for other reasons. I cannot accept that outcome."

"I haven't ruined the cooperation between Latvinia and Wakanda, Shuri. I just want the Latvinians to back down and accept our terms to protect the royal family's honor, nothing more."

"That's already too much, Mom!"

T'Challa, who had been silent until now, suddenly spoke. "Take her away."

"Who is it, my lord?" Nakia asked.

"Everyone," T'Challa said, "I need to think about this on my own."

“We can’t terminate the contract because of such a foolish woman,” Constantine said. This room was specifically set up to receive the Latvians, and had been inspected by the Royal Guard to ensure there were no listening devices. The fortress-like combat droids were also ready for battle. “Perhaps we should send someone to contact T’Challa directly, bypassing Queen Mother Ramonda, and secretly reach a deep cooperation agreement. After all, T’Challa’s legal authority is supreme, isn’t it?”

"The foolish woman you speak of is the Queen Mother of Wakanda. No matter how foolish she may be, her past as Dora Milage and Queen gives her considerable political power and prestige in Wakanda. Not everyone can make rational decisions; you'll have an example to give next time you say that to Hammurabi." The Latvian Emperor, clad in a long robe, leaned lazily against a chaise lounge. While Constantine frowned at Queen Mother Ramonda's obstruction, he calmly sipped his iced cola. The marble floor was impeccably smooth, looking nothing like a battlefield trampled by the Hellfire Knights; the corpses that had left their mark had all been cleaned up without a trace.

"Absolutely do not bypass her when contacting T'Challa or Shuri. For all contact with Wakanda officials, Queen Mother Ramonda must be present if T'Challa is there. Even if she is not, we must insist on her presence before starting negotiations, using the excuse that we need to negotiate with the entire Wakanda royal family."

Constantine pondered for a moment and realized that the plan was extremely malicious.

They had previously discovered that Wakanda's political situation bore a striking resemblance to that of many newly enthroned monarchs throughout history. A monarch's attempt to reclaim power from the previous regent's maternal family inevitably led to conflict. However, in Wakanda, the winner of this conflict was already clear: the Black Panther Temple, as the supreme authority and legitimacy, had sided with T'Challa. The more eager Queen Mother Ramonda was to seize power, the stronger T'Challa's resentment towards her would become, and the more severe the consequences would be—whether she intended it or not, Latvinia's actions would make her appear to have such an intention. Driven by various emotions and opposing opinions, it was highly likely that all cooperation opposed by Queen Mother Ramonda could be achieved.

"If Wakanda were a constitutional monarchy, things would be much easier. Latvinia's industrial aristocratic seat would give her even more power," Constantine shook his head. "While this is disrespectful to the French Revolution, the rise of the bourgeoisie meant that society shifted from satisfying the greed of a few fools to satisfying the greed of the majority. If it weren't for increased productivity, those commoners who supported the French Revolution would soon have been reduced to tenant farmers on plantations, the ultimate producers of the new era. In the end, it's pretty much the same; the new era of slavery just lacks collars and chains."

"The causal relationship is wrong. It is because of changes in productivity that the bourgeoisie gained more power, leading to the French Revolution. Productivity is the economic foundation, productivity is social culture, productivity is everything. We can view Wakanda scientifically and dialectically from the perspective of productivity, and some problems will be easily solved." Emperor Latvinia proved by his own actions that no matter how old a person is, even someone like him who can no longer remember his exact age, he prefers a sweet drink to an ice-cold beer.

"However, I must admit you have a point. Latvinia becoming an industrial aristocracy will expand Wakanda's industrial production. In the past, Wakanda didn't need advanced technology, but this time, increased demand gives them the opportunity to use dormant technologies to increase productivity. Perhaps this time we will replicate a large-scale social science experiment caused by changes in productivity, and see if Wakanda will fall into chaos like it did after Louis XVI's beheading," he said. "It's time to incite those nobles, starting with the mining and commercial tribes, our most important allies. Don't forget, they still owe Latvinia a life; let Hydra's most powerful lobbyists deal with them."
