Chapter 1207 Parasite (Second Update)
The helipad extending from the top of Avengers Tower could not support the weight of a four-engine wide-body aircraft like the Pegasus Super Heavy Assault Transport. Therefore, the pilots had to position the Pegasus Super Heavy Assault Transport with its side facing the Avengers Tower helipad, then open the side door and lower the ramp to allow passengers to enter the building.
The engine noise of the Pegasus super-heavy assault transport ship was deafening, but surprisingly, the glass curtain wall of Avengers Tower did not shatter. It was during the busy morning commute for New Yorkers, and all the New Yorkers sitting in their cars crawling along the congested streets of Midtown Manhattan's CBD looked up at the same time, watching through their windshields as the giant transport ship docked with Avengers Tower.
Undoubtedly, this once again triggered panic among New York City residents. Some people tried to turn around on the road, frantically dialing the police and their families, completely blocking the already congested roads. Even Stark Industries employees who had already entered Avengers Tower to start work began to instinctively flee outside, no matter how much the head of security, Happy, tried to stop them—twenty minutes earlier he had been dozing off in his office with headphones on, completely unaware of what was happening outside; he only knew that everyone was running outside.
But when he finally realized something was wrong, stepped outside, looked up, and discovered the source of the noise, his attempts to call Stark and Pepper Potts all failed. When he tried to take the elevator to the top floor, he was told it was out of service and security was rescuing employees trapped inside.
The Emperor gestured, issuing the order "Control, Search, and Destroy" to the Sorority and the Royal Guard. He would be more than happy to sit down and talk if Tony Stark was willing, but if Stark came out in his Iron Man suit to launch an attack, the Royal Guard and the Sorority would show no mercy. The accompanying Martian Foundry Sages seized control of the building's equipment immediately. The low-level AI Friday was utterly helpless against the Martian Foundry's electronic warfare offensive; even with Tony Stark's exceptional talent, he couldn't be too far ahead of the curve.
"This is a country most thoroughly parasitized by capital. In its education system and propaganda, centralized power is portrayed as utter evil, while absolute freedom is seen as good. The Federal Reserve Act and the McFadden Act constructed a seemingly tight network of power and regulation, ostensibly to prevent tyranny, but in reality, it was merely a cover for the nature of its private financial group. Therefore, the Federal Reserve remains a non-state-owned central bank to this day. Decentralized power leads to loopholes, loopholes lead to corruption, and corruption leads to evil."
The Emperor, supporting Wanda's arm, gently embraced her as they passed through the gap between the side door ramp and the tarmac. Meanwhile, the instruction in the aircraft continued.
"The appointment process for members of the Federal Reserve's Advisory Committee remains a black box, with money and power creating a revolving door between politics and business. The Federal Reserve is authorized by Congress and its employees are appointed by the government, but the shares are still held by a privately controlled central bank. Large banks such as Citigroup and JPMorgan Chase, as well as the financial magnates behind the bankers, can openly serve as government officials and Treasury secretaries, using their power to further create wealth. Most of these banks have the shadow of financial families such as Rockefeller, Morgan, and Rothschild. Therefore, it is very clear who our enemy is. I can smell the stench of this nepotism here."
"The French Bourgeois Revolution!"
She communicated with the Emperor not through voices, but through the most direct words and images conveyed via the tentacles of consciousness and the mind. The information she received included the power networks of Congress and the Federal Reserve, the list of members of the Federal Reserve Advisory Committee, and the process by which that list was generated—a fishing club—which Wanda found utterly repulsive. During her later studies, she had witnessed firsthand how the people of her homeland, Sokovia, were drained of their lifeblood by the financial giants sitting together at the fishing club, through documents and signatures. "They fear you!" Wanda exclaimed, "because you are the dictator of a monarchy!"
"That's right, no amount of money can guarantee personal safety, so they kidnapped the world's largest military-industrial complex." The Emperor seemed very happy, and Wanda's statement showed that she had indeed read Aristotle's "Politics" and Machiavelli's "The Prince" as planned.
The Pegasus super-heavy assault transport ship temporarily left Manhattan, flying in low orbit and remaining on standby. The Emperor's evacuation plan did not require the participation of aircraft. In fact, sending the Pegasus super-heavy assault transport ship into Manhattan was a politically charged statement and a calculated move. No one would believe that the Latvians were swaggering into Manhattan just to have a drink with Tony Stark. Moreover, the financial families and tycoons sitting behind the Federal Reserve's shares would realize that the invincible US Air Force and strategic air defense system had once again become ineffective, and the dagger pressed against their backs was becoming increasingly dangerous.
Some of these people knew about the Sixth Fleet, which made the sense of terror even more suffocating.
Stephanie Malik had received numerous letters through her position from anonymous financial families, all expressing interest in investing in Latvinia. Investing, or rather parasitizing, was almost instinctive for her. Stephanie Malik knew that even if the Emperor agreed to these families' conditions, what would arrive in Latvinia would only be a "satellite bank" and a family branch—a venture capital investment before things settled down.
"This military-industrial complex can no longer save their lives under Latvian swords, so these parasites want a new host with a safe investment environment, a host that can allow them to escape the slaughter. From Europe to North America, parasites don't care about the health of their hosts." The Emperor and Wanda walked step by step into the top floor of Avengers Tower. "Do you remember this place?"
“Of course, I’ve been here,” Wanda said. She suddenly looked up at the glass railings and postmodern minimalist staircase above, where Tony Stark and a tense Pepper Potts were slowly approaching under the guns of the sorority. “So Tony Stark is those parasites’ last resort?” she asked. “If they kill him, does it mean they have to flee America?”
"Only a portion. The salami-slicing tactic can force some of the tycoons to ally with Latvia, thus weakening the unity of international financial groups. Even when making money, those people will fight tooth and nail; when faced with life-or-death decisions, the weakness of the bourgeoisie will be fully revealed." The Emperor raised his head, looking at the grim-faced Tony Stark. "Good morning, Tony. What are you doing while your employees are up early working to pay off a fifty-year mortgage?"
"So you finally couldn't resist wanting my life? Or is she the one seeking revenge today?" Tony Stark gestured with his chin towards Wanda. He glanced at the sorority's explosive rifle muzzle and couldn't help but speak sarcastically. "I was the one who helped you refine and improve their power armor and firearms. I never thought I'd have an explosive rifle pointed at my head. Anyway, Pepper has nothing to do with this. Don't hurt her. Let her go first."
"I'm not a kidnapper or a member of the Mafia, Tony Stark. I'm sorry to disturb your sleep, but I'm here to deliver a warning—"
Before she could finish speaking, Aura, wielding a bomb pistol, slammed the butt of the gun into Tony Stark's arm, sending him sprawling to the ground in pain. The girl now had the crown the Emperor had given her welded to the top of her power backpack, so even with a helmet on, the Emperor could recognize her.
"Don't even think about summoning your armor; it was forcibly shut down on Friday." The Emperor sighed upon seeing this. Although he wasn't a member of the Mafia, he had learned all the negotiation skills he had from them. "Don't share your manufacturing technology with Congress and the Pentagon, or I will nuke New York City. You know I will do this; compared to the deaths that would result from sharing the technology, a New York City is a price worth paying."
