Marvel Magic Case Files
Chapter 1443 Generation Y
Chapter 1443 Generation Y (First Update)
The female elf lived a life no different from ordinary people, and seemed to pose little danger. Furthermore, the Emperor had more pressing threats to deal with, so the matter of the elves had to be temporarily put on hold. The focus was on increasing surveillance and gathering more data until the Royal Guard determined that the elves posed a threat to the human race. However, before these measures were temporarily suspended, the Emperor and the Royal Guard had to figure out why the female elf had chosen this lifestyle.
It cannot be ruled out that this is a disguise. As a way to infiltrate human society, the Eternals could easily acquire a false identity within human society through their own abilities, but even a person who is full of lies will appear honest when alone. The surveillance equipment has heard and seen her talking to herself in front of the mirror more than once, complaining about the skin problems caused by aging. On some anonymous social media platforms, she can also be seen complaining about the living conditions of women over thirty, and even participating in some social activities related to women's rights.
She seemed genuinely convinced she was a human woman around thirty years old, not some supernatural being who had lived for millennia and witnessed human history. If this were true, it meant her subconscious was completely unaware of her own special nature. This indicated some force was influencing her, causing her brain to actively ignore anything abnormal, allowing her to subconsciously change her identity to avoid detection. All of this felt unnatural, as if manipulated by someone. The emperor wouldn't easily conclude whether it was a disguise, but he couldn't rule out the possibility that someone else, like him, had noticed the Eternals.
The Emperor opened his eyes and reviewed the identities of all his informants and agents in North America, including civilians, FBI agents, and government officials. He would devise a suitable investigative route while preventing any official agency from noticing the existence of the Eternals. "I will approve contact investigations, including investigating her past identities. Perhaps some of the clues we need lie within those old identities. I will deploy a thermal intercontinental ballistic missile as a last resort. If this female Eternal leaves New York or makes contact with individuals possessing special abilities, I will be informed immediately. If they intend to destroy humanity and the situation cannot be stopped, then my nuclear warheads will fall on their heads first."
"Who do you want to be in charge of this?"
"The Guardian Order. Constantine will be in charge of this; he's the Commander of the Guardian. Right now, he's working hard to prevent the Rangers from bringing those things to the base that would make the Geiger counters jump around and scream, from harming the ordinary people at the Lighthouse base. Once he's finished the cleanup, I'll hand this over to him." Athena sensed the wealth of information in those words, including nuclear weapons and the transport of nuclear weapons into North America, as well as the untold bloodshed that was taking place.
When war is foreseen, the pieces for victory have already been laid.
The emperor planned to personally meet the female Eternal. He would disguise himself so that no one could detect his special nature. As far as he knew, this female Eternal participated in some social activities and also had a small book club. He intended to arrange appropriate tests and trials for her to probe the thoughts and beliefs of this tribe.
He wanted to know if this woman would one day suddenly realize that she had once communicated fluently in a language she had never spoken before, and dreamt of a mythical life she had experienced. If she had truly forgotten her true self, then when she rediscovered it, would it be the Gen Y youth, raised on pacifiers, or the Eternal who had lived through countless years, who would be shocked? Would she suffer from some kind of mental illness or psychological disorder as a result, or would she simply split her personality and try to bury her memories?
The emperor was very curious about the psychological state of immortals, and understanding this would be very helpful to him.
He is a person with rich emotions, and always has been, after all, he is sweet.
But not now, after all, he still has a lot of work to do.
Ultimately, he would leave this difficult problem to the temporary research team formed by the Guardians, allowing their genetically modified brains to function and determine whether the life of this eternal female was a hoax. His plan was merely a guideline for the Guardians' actions, designed to prevent mass innocent casualties—after all, the Guardians' overly rational thinking would lead to the "correct" choice, meaning that when faced with the train problem, they would all unhesitatingly choose to sacrifice the minority to ensure the survival of the majority. The Guardians possessed "correctness" but not "humanity." Their duty was to protect the "correctness" that allowed the majority to live with their lives. "Humanity" was a question for the survivors to ponder, guiding them to avoid making wrong decisions and using self-satisfied morality to destroy other survivors.
It was afternoon in New York, nearing sunset in England, and he had to hurry home for dinner.
"Of course, me too."
The smile on his face was all too familiar to Athena; it was the same smile that always appeared on his face whenever he accepted a mission from Kamar-Taj to slaughter monsters. Athena knew that the Emperor had always understood that humanity would never thank him, and that before that grand plan demanding the unity of all humankind, his sword would inevitably sever many human heads. The history of Asgard and the Olympian pantheon's resistance against the Celestials was meticulously preserved; if the Eternals attempted to summon the Celestials, it would mean the end of human civilization. But like the Sorcerer Supreme, the survival and continuation of the human race was his greatest reward, and the Eternals could not stop him.
"If thermonuclear warheads cannot destroy the Eternals, then my sword certainly can."
"I don't know if the Eternals killed by your sword can be resurrected. If you don't mind, I can provide you with some clues about that machine." Athena poured him another glass of wine. "You might need this information, because Thanos, the ruler of the Dark Order, is also an Eternal, albeit a deformed product of interbreeding between Eternals and other races. That's right, Eternals are not reproductively isolated from other creatures. The reason why Eternals were able to become the chosen champions of the Olympian pantheon in the past was because the commonalities between Eternals and us included not only the essence of their souls but also their personalities and behaviors. The female Eternal you intend to contact..."
Athena feigned difficulty recalling the events, but the Emperor knew she was merely putting on an act, for she, like him, could not forget anything she had seen, heard, smelled, or tasted. Each memory was immersive, and without a strong will, one could not open their eyes to the vividness of those memories and anchor their existence. "I remember her name. She was a very interesting person, emotional, and not particularly close to her Eternal companions." She held up a finger and waved it in front of the Emperor. Somehow, the Emperor seemed to sense her enjoyment as she tiptoed and played with his hair. "I know you are kind and easily swayed, but don't forget that the Eternals are essentially just tools. The Praetorian Guard cannot disobey your orders, and the Eternals cannot disobey the orders of the Celestials. You have more trouble to deal with now, don't you?"
"Okay, where is that machine?"
