Chapter 264 Learning Makes Me Happy

Chapter 264 Learning Makes Me Happy (First Update)

"I don't understand why you work so hard, Salomon." Just as Salomon was writing and drawing on another sheet of white paper with an advanced mathematics book and a pencil, a deafening sound came from beside him. But Salomon ignored the source of the sound and continued to work on the draft paper with his head down.

However, the owner of the voice didn't seem to intend to let the sorcerer off the hook. "I don't even know how you brought these things in," it said. "Everyone else comes here to pray for power, but you're busy with your own affairs. Tell me, Salomon, why won't you accept my power? You should know that once you accept my power, everything in human society will be meaningless to you, and you can have whatever you want."

Salomon finally looked up at the large, wrinkled face beside him, formed from immense energy. The sorcerer looked somewhat haggard, with dark circles under his eyes. "I'm too busy, I don't have time." He was indeed very busy. The vengeful spirit within Ghost Rider was temporarily suppressed by Father Morru, that foolish priest who had invited the foolish Rider to live with him, but Johnny Blaze wanted to return to Houston to see his girlfriend. However, he hadn't even taken a few steps before being arrested by S.H.I.E.L.D., and Salomon had to rescue him and leave him in the care of the old Ghost Rider, Carter Slade. But this wasn't over yet, because Salomon had looted most of the wine in the monastery's cellar, and Father Morru had come to throw a tantrum. If Salomon hadn't opened a portal and thrown the guy back to Europe, he definitely wouldn't have left.

As for Salomon's personal gains within the monastery, they also required digestion. Jacob's limbs, a powerful close-combat technique capable of contending with angels, required a very long time to practice, and Kabbalah was extremely difficult to understand. Practicing these things consumed a great deal of his time, not to mention the science courses he had fallen behind on. Jane Foster complained incessantly whenever she saw Salomon.

"Dassie's course progress is faster than yours," were her exact words, showing no consideration whatsoever for the aggrieved Dassie standing to the side.

Fortunately, Bayonetta was very understanding. She seemed to have forgotten about Salomon and Agent Romanov, and every day when Salomon returned to the apartment, he would rest on her lap for a while. That warm, fragrant scent was the best medicine to relieve fatigue, and this healing method even made him forget that he had Athena's martial arts training the next morning.

He's so busy he barely has time to do what he wants. Magic classes, science classes, and martial arts training have filled his schedule, and even his weekend dinners need to be prepared by his invisible servant. You see, given the time and energy, he would definitely cook for himself.

Faced with Dormammu's unoriginal offer, Salomon scoffed, "Dormammu, after accepting your power, can you help me solve these equations? Can you help me get a good grade in my A-Level exams? My goal is a perfect score!"

"Uh..." Dormammu was momentarily speechless. "The Ancient One sent you to the Dark Dimension to learn Dark Dimension magic, but you're reviewing science lessons instead." Dormammu didn't know what was wrong with this bizarre arcane mage. Which spellcaster wouldn't be terrified in its presence? But this arcane mage, with whom it had spent nearly ten years, was just as annoying as its teacher. To be fair, Salomon wasn't that bad. Dormammu knew he couldn't kill Salomon; the Ancient One always managed to let him escape in time. Over time, it and Salomon had reached a state of peaceful coexistence—as long as Salomon didn't absorb the power of the Dark Dimension on a large scale, Dormammu wouldn't attack him.

"I'm currently in a spirit state, which allows me to study for much longer in the dark dimension than in the primary matter," the arcane mage replied earnestly. Not only could he study for longer in the spirit state, but he could also rest his body while studying, which was exactly what he needed right now.

"You can do your homework in Vishanti! Isn't Agamotto all-knowing?" Dormammu roared angrily, only to be met with a disdainful look from Salomon. "I'm not familiar with Vishanti," the sorcerer said, "but one thing is certain: the light in Vishanti is too strong to see anything in the books. Alright, leave me alone; I still have a classical literature course to review."

"And what about the story...?"

"Not today." Salomon waved his hand, and then a darkness and haze enveloped Dormammu. This was the result of his busy work during this period: a fifth-circle protective spell, "The Wizard's Private Chamber," which could isolate sound and sight. His progress in magic was silent, and no one except the Sorcerer Supreme knew about it. Salomon had no intention of showing off.

He is very busy.

While Salomon was busy reviewing his high school coursework, Nick Fury was also preoccupied with sorting out the internal power dynamics within S.H.I.E.L.D., leaving him little time to deal with Stark's situation. It must be said that when Nick Fury, the king of agents, got serious, he actually discovered some clues—this force was deeply hidden, even within S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Insight program. However, this matter involved his superior, Alexander Pierce, which made Nick Fury suspicious of certain individuals within S.H.I.E.L.D.'s upper echelons.

But he had no evidence, only suspicion. So he planned to prepare a backup plan for the worst-case scenario, and Agent Coulson, who was about to finish his treatment, naturally became that backup.

So when Alexander Pierce wanted to talk to him about Salomon, Nick Fury's first thought was to brush him off. "You have no idea how bad his temper is," Nick Fury thought, impressed after reviewing the information Pierce provided. He hadn't expected to be able to bypass the contract's restrictions in this way. But he still reminded Pierce, "You definitely don't want him to know about this; none of his friends or family are weaker than him."

"Can't we talk?" Pierce pointed to the school address on Salomon's file. "A good student like this attending Windsor should be someone we can communicate with. Thor is an alien, and we Earth need a force to defend against the Asgardians. Hulk doesn't follow orders, Captain Rogers is just an ordinary person, and your agents are even less capable. As for Stark, he's still in trouble."

“He’s very volatile right now, Pierce.” Nick Fury was still trying to keep his superiors away from Salomon. “This isn’t in the files. Those agents only have a partial picture. As far as I know, Salomon Damonette’s upbringing was completely different from ordinary people. He only went to school because his family required it. Those agents think he’s cruel, but he’s far more cruel than they imagine. He killed his first person when he was around ten years old. Is that something an ordinary person could do? Pierce, let me talk to him. He hates strangers.”

"Didn't you say he's been very irritable lately?"

"His exams will eventually be over, don't worry, just leave it to me."

Nick Fury felt relieved when his superior agreed. He had no intention of speaking with Salomon; he was simply buying himself time to investigate and distract his superior. As for Stark's situation, he couldn't do anything about it for the time being, but he could still get some help from others.

So Agent Hill went to Stark Industries the next day and met Miss Pepper Potts, but she also met an unexpected person.
