Chapter 348 The Power of Faith

Chapter 348 The Power of Faith (First Update)

Steel, burning blood, ionized ozone, and a small amount of molten soil emitted a pungent, acrid odor. Some things that were indistinguishable as corpse fragments or soil were scattered throughout the courtyard. Half of the ancient building had collapsed, with only a tall stained-glass window miraculously surviving.

Salomon staggered a few steps after being put down by Phoenix.

He was now incredibly grateful that he was wearing the armor. The shockwave had severely damaged his semicircular canals; without the protection of the armor and shield, his organs would likely be a pile of minced meat by now (uncertain, and no one had ever tried). But dizziness still filled his mind. Powder blue and bright red specks of light, accompanied by large shadows, flashed rapidly before his eyes. Even with his eyes closed, he could still see these dizzying things.

Although the reactor explosion was severe, the affected area miraculously did not extend to the entire Greenwich University campus or the opposite bank of the Thames. The explosion, to some extent, exacerbated the effects of the celestial convergence; some of the pervasive smoke and dust mysteriously disappeared, some shockwaves and expanding air crashed into other countries, and some things not native to Earth were sucked out by the negative pressure—the ice and snow of Jotunheim, the wild salamanders of Muspelheim, the fairies (flower fairies) of Alfheim, and various other things Salomon had never seen before.

After briefly confirming that the androids were not damaged by the impact, Salomon immediately sent Phoenix to find the dark elf soldiers who were scattered around capturing ordinary people. Thanks to the arcane mage's advance notice, the dark elf soldiers didn't have many prey. The only prey they found were a few rebellious students who were hiding on campus and lingering there. Even the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents didn't know where they had been hiding.

Sif shook her head and sat up from the ground.

The Asgardians were much stronger than the Dark Elves, and it took her less time to regain consciousness. After regaining her senses, she instinctively swung her sword at the Dark Elf soldier lying next to her. But as she did so, she realized that she had already killed him. With the blade piercing dead flesh, there was no hope of another outcome.

"Anyway, you don't mind being killed a second time." She muttered as she stood up, brushing the dust off her head and helping the dazed Volstagra to his feet. Sif looked around and spotted Malekith, the Dark Elf King, rising higher and higher, but Thor was nowhere to be seen. Worry filled her mind. She wanted to run over to check on him, but before she could take two steps, she was swallowed whole by a naturally formed portal.

The same fate befell her as well. Salomon watched helplessly as Phoenix took off and vanished in an instant, while his magic aimed at Malekith was momentarily distorted by the chaotic gravity, adding another wound to the Greenwich University Library. Now he dared not move. Until he found a clear path to Malekith, he could be thrown into another realm at any moment—and if he were thrown into the lava of Muspelheim, he didn't think he would survive.

"By the Vipers of Valtorr! You will be stopped," Salomon whispered the incantation, and hundreds of black-green venomous snakes, gathered together, appeared out of thin air and swam towards Malekith. A large number of the Faldo snakes vanished inexplicably, and only a few summoned creatures reached Malekith's feet.

that's enough.

Salomon, holding the shield from the homunculus, sped forward along the serpentine trail. The homunculus's bolter crackled with thunder as she followed behind her master, firing relentlessly at Malekith to buy Salomon time for her attack.

With each step Salomon took, he seemed to grow taller, his armor clanging and clattering. The back of his armor transformed again, unleashing a jet of flame as tall as a man, propelling Salomon to subsonic speeds. He leaped directly beneath Malekith with ferocious power and terrifying rage, the recoil even causing a small explosion in the ground beneath his feet.

"Die, alien!" he roared, leaping toward the Dark Elf King enveloped in aether particles. He moved with incredible speed, swinging his sword at a speed imperceptible to ordinary people. The holy sword collided with the aether particles from bottom to top. With the power from the dragon wing thrusters and the Holy Mark, the lightning-fast holy sword cleaved through Malekith's protective spell.

He used his shield as a warhammer and rammed it into Malekith, who was exposed to the air.

With a deafening crash, Malekith and Salomon tumbled into the ruins of the library, smashing through the remaining massive stone pillars. Before Salomon could rise and swing his sword again, aetheric particles erupted from Malekith's body once more, coalescing into a massive battering ram under the will of the Dark Elf King, delivering a devastating blow to Salomon. Malekith rose expressionlessly from the rubble, his face visibly withered and emaciated. He uttered no words, simply lunging at the backward-falling Salomon.

Crimson waves surged behind him, propelling him toward Salomon like a terrifying ocean of blood.

Salomon rolled several times on the ground, which had once been grassland but was now scorched earth. He quickly raised his shield and blocked Malekith's heavy punch, but he was still hit by countless physical star darts formed from ether particles. The enormous kinetic energy pushed him away, and his armored feet plowed two deep grooves in the ground.

Malekith wasted no time; he had to deal with this enemy quickly to avoid missing the crucial moment of the celestial convergence. The primordial darkness and etheric particles he believed in were warning him that this enemy before him was his greatest foe, an enemy far more formidable than the Asgardians.

Following the attack of the Aether, Malekith arrived. His power, amplified by the Aether, surpassed that of the Cursed Warrior. To ordinary people, he was nothing more than a blurry afterimage, and the sound of his fist striking the shield could be heard throughout London.

Salomon was sent flying again by this force. The bullets fired by the androids were swallowed by the aether particles, and the explosive warheads disappeared after falling into the aetheric ocean without causing a ripple. Before the androids could arrive with their greatswords to rescue him, Malekith commanded the aether particles to collide with Salomon's holy sword, creating a massive tsunami that once again churned up astonishing waves in the crimson ocean.

They tumbled together into a spatial rift. The next moment, Salomon and Malekith fell from the sky above the Thames, surrounded by crimson matter. They plunged into the river, splashing up a large spray before disappearing again.

Thor, engulfed in flames, wielding his warhammer, and clutching a helpless Loki in his green armor and gold robes, leaped from the skies above London's financial district—Loki had run into a spatial rift after being freed from his shackles, only to be caught red-handed by Thor. The god of mischief, after being reprimanded by his brother, finally convinced Thor that he had simply stumbled into another realm.

At this moment, a grand Mass was being held, presided over by Father Mauru, who was presiding over this grand ceremony organized by the entire secret order. He wore a tall white crown and held a golden cross scepter, while all the clergy listened to the choir singing scriptures. Under Father Mauru's guidance, they confessed, and all the clergy prayed with rosaries in their hands.

This ancient and mysterious Mass is a secret ritual unique to secret religious orders, and is rarely performed even within the Church. Both the sacred anointing and the vestments worn by the clergy attending the Mass have been consecrated. The Bible they hold is a finely bound copy handwritten by Roman clergy after the Council of Nicaea, and the golden casket on the altar, reflecting the candlelight, is a sacred relic containing the offerings of the Three Wise Men.

As the ceremony progressed, their voices converged among the mountains, sunlight climbed the stained glass windows depicting the Passion of Jesus, and dazzling points of light gathered behind the figures' heads, while blood dripped from the saints' compassionate eyes and pained faces.

A silver-white carrier pigeon stood bathed in bright light, a roll of parchment sealed with sealing wax sitting quietly beside it, a mysterious power reverberating in the ethereal plane.

Unseen by them, Salomon, locked in combat with Malekith, was enveloped in an ever-brightening golden light. Salomon's speed and power increased, his sword flashing like lightning through the darkness. His stigmata seemed to have received some long-awaited fuel; the Kabbalah essence was fully ignited, invisible flames searing his spirit, pain and satisfaction filling his soul. His presence grew ever stronger, dazzling golden flames erupting from the dark slits of his armor.

Within the astral plane, his soul grew ever more majestic, his battle cry unleashing a devastating storm in the spiritual realm. Heaven received the long-awaited news: the news of Meltalon's revival of the blood of Abraham spread throughout the seven and three heavens. Gabriel sounded his trumpet, announcing the coming of judgment. Angels spread their wings, laughing and playing, singing hymns.

Roars echoed from Hell and the Abyss, as demons and devils raised their weapons and growled menacingly. As if receiving a signal, the blood war that had been dormant since time immemorial was once again uncontrollably unleashed, and the creatures of the lower planes would offer their blood and souls as sacrifices to the Seventh Throne.

Salomon entered a battle state he was unaware of; his mind was devoid of all distractions, consumed by rage. He could not tolerate any heretic setting foot on sacred land; his only thought was to kill this hateful alien before him and save humanity.

We proclaim the death of the King, we sing praises to the resurrection of the King, we await the coming of the King's glory.

"Alien!" Salomon raised his longsword, light gathering above his head. He stood like a god amidst the black storm, the sole light in this dark world. He held his holy sword high, delivering judgment upon humanity's enemy. The believers drank the holy blood, and at that moment, golden flames surged, resisting the tentacles formed from etheric particles, powerful enough to tear steel apart. Countless tiny souls wailed in the spiritual realm before being annihilated by this golden power.

[All nations under heaven, universal authority, all glory, forever belong to Him.]
