Chapter 386 We Still Need Professionals (First Update)
The Immortal City fell silent for the time being. Salomon waited until ROOT and Maya Hansen left together before crossing the cleared area and the ruins temporarily piled up in the darkness to enter the brightly lit office building. The matters here were temporarily settled, but the problem of the recruited Sora Redwood Druid Order still needed his attention.
They had thoroughly studied all the druidic teaching materials they had obtained from Balthazar. However, the Sora Redwood Druid Order failed to demonstrate the natural gifts and abilities that druids should possess.
While this disappointed Salomon somewhat, it was also something he had expected.
Magic in the Prime Material Plane is nearly exhausted, with all magical power going to the outer dimension demons. Furthermore, Gaia, the Earth Mother Goddess, as a nature goddess, has no need for or interest in serving anyone, nor does she grant any power. Only spellcasters like Merlin, who have a good relationship with Avalon, can gain recognition.
[In fact, Oshutu and Gaia are related by blood, so the most powerful force in the world is nepotism.]
It's no wonder that the ancestors of the Sora Redwood Druid Order abandoned their original magic and instead learned a series of spells such as Kabbalah, Numerology, and Solomon's Seal. Balthazar, despite being a disciple of the world's greatest druid, didn't demonstrate much druidic magic.
Apart from Merlin, there are very few people in the world who can become Druids these days.
Salomon pushed away a curious sheep that approached, several stubborn turkeys, and even a large golden retriever that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
Since neither approaching animals nor plants had yielded the desired results for the Sora Redwood Druid Order, it was time for them to transition. Salomon would tutor them in a range of occult arts, including astrology, Kabbalah, Tarot, and numerology, but he would also limit the speed at which they acquired knowledge. He had this in mind because if things continued this way, the Immortal City would be flooded with animal excrement! He wasn't that idle; he couldn't afford to open portals every day and have the druids shovel poop!
The plants can be kept as part of the landscape, and the dog can be a pet for Maya Hansen. The best way to get rid of sheep is in a hot pot, and turkey is best roasted after being stuffed with a butter marinade.
These tasks could be left to the android army that was gradually being completed. Salomon gazed at the rows of glass incubation tanks before him, where meticulously designed, perfect bodies were slowly taking shape, the runes engraved on the tanks emitting a dim blue glow. Even without the lights on, Salomon could use this light to examine the entire process of muscle and skin formation and make fine adjustments to certain key parts. These androids lacked the connection he had with his maids; all their intelligence was acquired. All Salomon could do was manipulate their physical development.
A quarter of the Aether particles still retain the properties of the Philosopher's Stone, enough to create a group of his personal bodyguards. Soon, he will bring his maids to train these androids, and the pace of purchasing Hammer Corporation's weapons production lines will also need to be accelerated.
However, the latter was something he couldn't solve on his own, and he planned to find a helper after today's class.

"Are you sure you don't need to get some sleep first?" Stark asked Salomon, who looked exhausted, handing him half a glass of whiskey on the rocks. He was wearing a black tank top, black grease clinging to his fingers, making him look like he'd just emerged from a sea of machine oil and metallic smells after repairing something. On the television screen not far from the sofa, "Casper" was playing, and Casper was bouncing around oblivious to everyone else.
If you look out, you can see the black sky and lights of the city in the distance, and the faint figure of a mischievous little elf is doing somersaults on the window.
"It's alright, I've just been studying too much magic." Salomon blinked, opening his eyes before his upper and lower eyelids stuck together. He had indeed reviewed a lot of scrolls, but it was necessary. Whether it was tired eyes or cramped fingers covered in ink, these were the price he paid for learning magic, and there was nothing to complain about.
Stark slumped heavily onto the sofa, the highly bouncy cushion bouncing him up several times.
"You'll at least need to learn to appreciate whiskey before you go to college. As far as I know, you're an orphan, and these kinds of lessons are usually taught by the father. I'll reluctantly do you a favor," Stark said, swaying slightly with a hint of smugness. "What brings you here this time?"
"Design a weapons production line, and borrow Jarvis to develop powered armor." Salomon focused his gaze on the liquid in front of him, carefully tilting the glass and pouring the flaming liquid into his mouth. Unsurprisingly, he choked and coughed again, feeling as if he had lost all feeling in his throat.
Stark cast a questioning glance at Salomon upon hearing his request. He was about to speak his true thoughts when Salomon stopped him with his outstretched, waving hand. Even while coughing, Salomon insisted that he finish speaking first.
If there's any company in the world that possesses the advanced weapons technology reserves that Salomon can acquire, it's undoubtedly Stark Industries. Salomon's request for help is very clear: he wants Stark's assistance.
"All the weapons and equipment will be supplied to my legion. You don't need to worry about me becoming an arms dealer." Having finally calmed his spasms, Salomon took a deep breath and openly shared his plans with Stark. He knew Stark didn't like being kept in the dark, and he had no intention of hiding anything. The addition of this technological genius was essential to completing this plan. Besides, even if S.H.I.E.L.D. knew Salomon possessed a cyborg army, so what? Could Nick Fury still interfere with his war against Hell?
Salomon detailed his plans, including the android guards and cyborg warriors who would participate in the battle, as well as weapons and equipment such as large-caliber bolt-action rifles and power armor. Stark listened, increasingly incredulous. "I had no idea you had such ideas and abilities. Can magic even do genetic modification?" Stark scoffed, and Salomon made no attempt to correct his misunderstanding. Maya Hansen was still alive—this was not news everyone wanted to hear.
"I've heard about the Devil's Child. I'm a consultant for S.H.I.E.L.D., and I have access to certain things, but I never imagined you'd have such a huge conflict with Hell. Are you sure you don't want your teacher to lend a hand?"
"This is a private matter, Stark. The Venerable One has his own tasks, and I'm not so spoiled that I expect him to clean up my messes." The arcane mage set the glass aside, turning it over with a finger to hide the embarrassing wine stain. Then, he said very seriously, "Moreover, my initial purpose in establishing this army was to address the shortage of arcane mages and, incidentally, to strengthen Kamar-Taj's power on the Material Plane. The battle against a Hell Lord is the best experiment, and if it proves feasible, I will refine this plan… I will use some Asgardian technology and gold as payment. If you agree, I also need to pay the royalties, lest that company comes knocking on my tank to collect the money."
"I still have some production lines here that haven't been sold yet. They're the production lines for assembling weapon systems for Iron Man armor. But if we need to make a small batch of prototypes, that's no problem." Stark shifted his position on the sofa and clinked his glass against Salomon's.
"You'll need to figure out how to handle the other production lines yourself; I believe you have the ability."
"Deal?" Salomon asked.
"Deal." Stark nodded, his face showing no sign of distress at having made a bad deal. He looked overjoyed, as if he had gotten a great bargain. "Hurry up and hand over the alien technology you got! S.H.I.E.L.D. won't let me touch the Dark Elf ships; they even keep a single bolt in a safe! You can't develop technology by just collecting things. I'm going to show Nick Fury who's really capable!"
