Chapter 430 No Visitors for Now (First Update)

"My lord is not suitable to receive guests at the moment."

The day after Salomon fell into a deep sleep, the Wakandans received fragments of information about the events that had occurred in the Immortal City. The repercussions of that deal couldn't be confined to a small stone chamber, and Salomon's exhaustion couldn't be hidden from everyone. Although the full picture was still unclear, T'Challa led his guards on a nighttime flight from Wakanda to New York.

They didn't find Salomon; instead, they were stopped on the top floor of the apartment building by dozens of armored androids. The atmosphere tensed instantly. Katherine even gripped the hilt of her sword, and T'Challa's guards nervously tightened their vibranium spears. The androids knew of Salomon's alliance with Wakanda, but they didn't care. Only Salomon's safety was their concern; everything else was insignificant.

During this period, the android army led by Dina raised its alert level to the highest level. In addition to four androids skilled in close combat guarding Salomon's sleeping room, two Sisterhood members wielding explosive guns and wearing Steel Wing flight modules stood guard at the bedroom door and the apartment door, respectively.

Salomon bought the entire floor of the apartment, and Dinah quickly deployed members of the android army to every room. If anyone were to raid Salomon's apartment at this time, whether by elevator, stairs, or from the top floor, the intruder would be met with crossfire from the Sorority. Even Iron Man—one of the Sorority's hypothetical enemies—would be blocked at Salomon's doorstep if he broke in through a window, and other androids would arrive as quickly as possible to provide support.

On the other side of New York, Finch, after reviewing the case records, immediately determined that the incident was definitely related to Salomon, because the center of the crime scene was Salomon's apartment—the androids had been cleaning around the apartment as the center. Finch was driving here, accompanied by Root and Samun Shaw, whom he had previously imprisoned in the library.

“We mean no harm,” T’Challa said, spreading his arms in a gesture of peace. “Wakanda has absolutely no ulterior motives,” he said. “We just want to know what’s wrong with Salomon Damonet. He’s an important partner for Wakanda, and we need him to get the Martian foundry project underway. Ladies, whatever you prefer, just tell me the truth. I assure you, the Wakandan royal family is very concerned about your master’s health.”

The androids whispered among themselves for a moment. They were wearing helmets, and all communication was conducted through communication channels inside the helmets. T'Challa, who was right next to them, couldn't hear anything—the Wakandans had the ability to hack into this communication channel established by Princess Shuri, but T'Challa had no intention of doing so. He had no ill intentions towards the androids and didn't want to cause any misunderstandings.

Finally, one of the androids in the front row removed her helmet, and the most composed Tita spoke on behalf of her sisters.

"My lord left instructions before falling into slumber, and explained the reasons." Tita held the helmet in her hands.

She has the same short white hair as other androids, but her skin is light brown, a mutation from the incubation tank. Therefore, she underwent a thorough examination by Salomon after leaving the tank. After confirming it was a benign mutation, Salomon thoughtfully chose a black lipstick for her, giving her a mysterious air. Her mature and steady voice is also very magnetic, hence she shares the same title of respect as Dinah within the sorority.

"Our Lord has stated that he needs to sleep for a few days," she said, looking directly into T'Challa's eyes, "simply because of excessive mental exertion."

T'Challa knew that the android before him was still holding back secrets. The anomalies occurring in the Immortal City were enough to suggest that things weren't so simple, and the androids' elaborate security measures were themselves an explanation for the events. "Why?" he pressed. "I want to hear the truth. I want to know when he'll wake up."

"We never seek out our Lord's secrets unless our Lord allows it." Tita shook her head gently, a few strands of her pearly white hair clinging to her sweaty forehead. "We also don't know when our Lord will awaken. Our Lord has her own plans, and the Sisterhood has no way to interfere."

"Can I visit him?" T'Challa asked. "Judging from your expression, you have no intention of agreeing... Then can I speak with Ms. Maya Hansen?" Dita didn't answer; she put on her helmet and looked at T'Challa through the tinted glass. The Wakanda prince received the hint and didn't press the matter further.

"If he wakes up, please make sure he contacts me," he said. "We still have a lot to talk about."

The androids watched the Wakandas board the cloaking aircraft, and after confirming their departure, they returned to their designated positions. The Sorority didn't dwell on what had just happened, but that didn't mean their emotions were as calm as they appeared.

"Ms. Tita," Catherine couldn't help but lean closer to Tita, "Did Ms. Diana reveal anything about our Lord? The sisters are very worried."

"There's nothing to worry about." Tita shook her head. "Our Lord wouldn't do anything without certainty. Lady Dina, as our Lord's personal maid, holds the most honorable position among us. She can represent our Lord's will."

Catherine grumbled a few words of dissatisfaction and turned back to her seat. Only after Catherine left did Tita secretly breathe a sigh of relief. These androids were only a few months old; their knowledge had been directly instilled, and Tita's seemingly composed demeanor was merely a facade. You see, when Salomon gave her that black lipstick, she was so overjoyed she almost jumped for joy. Now, Tita cautiously led her team, often feeling as if she were standing on the edge of a precipice, every word she uttered feeling like dancing beside a bottomless abyss.

Catherine's fanatical moral code unsettled her, and this wasn't unique to Catherine. Despite their master's explicit prohibition, the overly fanatical sisters had secretly hidden away their artwork praising their master, though the temple's blueprints still hung in the sorority's meeting hall. Dinah had once conveyed to her the thoughts of their master, inextricably linked to the soul of the homunculus army—that he desired the sorority to maintain rationality, not fanaticism stemming from the soul.

But in Tita's view, this was a somewhat unrealistic idea.

Their lives come from their master, their creator, the source of their extraordinary souls—how could they not worship him?
