Chapter 436 Shady Deals
Chapter 436 A Shady Deal (First Update!)
Salomon already had a general idea of how to seize Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D.'s assets. Although a detailed business plan was still needed, he had already come up with a decent scheme by referring to the methods used by companies that have gone public through backdoor listings in the A-share market.
However, he entered the market too late. Hydra's assets had already been divided up by others. In fact, different Hydra leaders were even fighting each other for shares and resources. Salomon could only choose one leader to enter the market and use off-the-ground means to violently acquire that leader.
This matter must be completed before Project Insight is launched. After Alexander Pierce's Hydra lineage is exposed, those assets will inevitably be monitored, and many people are eyeing those resources. Although Salomon is not worried about those bureaucrats and corporations using "protecting state property" as a pretext to wage war against him, now is not a good time to destroy a secular government.
Even if the United States were to become a nation, it would not be suitable to establish a new country. The accumulated contradictions between classes and races would inevitably erupt sooner or later, and Salomon did not want to be the fool who would take the fall.
He now intends to disguise his embezzlement of Hydra's assets as a dispute between different factions within Hydra, and then list the company on the stock exchange when the time is right.
This is when we need to use the backup plan he left behind.
He wrote a task plan and gave it to Diana, along with a piece of parchment.
The spell on the parchment was guided by a planetary defense system, capable of tracking the arcane markings he had placed, no matter how far away. Dinah's mission was to find the nuclear bomb that had been launched during the Battle of New York; Salomon wanted Dinah to retrieve it as leverage in negotiations.
He promised that someone would kneel on the ground and beg for his forgiveness.
The prerequisite for completing this mission is that Wakanda's vibranium-powered aircraft are good enough to support global navigation. As long as the Sisterhood members are fully armed and carry some explosives, breaching a US military base shouldn't be too difficult.
"Master, what are the casualty figures?" Diana asked.
"Zero, but that refers to the android army. I don't want you to be injured or killed in such a simple mission," Salomon said. "As for those who try to stop the mission, follow the standard procedure. Since they've chosen to serve our enemy, we have no reason to show mercy. End the battle quickly, and then return quickly."
"I understand, Master. I'll go and gather the team right away."
"You can paint your own logo on the aircraft." Salomon nodded. "Those are your aircraft. Remember to tell Surrey to start designing large ships that can only be built in orbit. I'll also recruit some talent in this area. Have her send me the list, and I'll take care of that."
************
"Why did you suddenly come?" Stark wiped his greasy hands on a towel, looking Salomon, who was wearing a suit, up and down. "You have a good eye for clothes."
As the richest person Salomon knew, even though Miss Potts handled all his personal affairs, Stark could tell at a glance the price of the arcane's clothes. He (174cm tall) raised his hand and pinched Salomon's (185cm tall, and still growing) shirt collar, then burst into laughter.
"You're being too serious." Stark brought over a glass of whiskey and a Coke. "This isn't a church; there's no need for a contrasting lapel and double-breasted suit. Like a newsboy cap, it's too old-fashioned."
"Sounds like you've been to church. But you have to admit, nobody hates me in this outfit." Salomon pursed his lips and took the Coke. However, he didn't drink it right away because the smell of engine oil on the glass was just too strong.
"Your tutor won't like it. Oxford's dress code isn't like that. You need to be more refined. You should learn that kind of clothing coordination, that elite style of dressing, to make yourself more likable."
"I don't think I need to worry too much about that, after all, I've received many date invitations. Notice that I've never flaunted my wealth; I rely on my knowledge and looks. Doesn't that sound much better than some people?"
"Are you here to inquire about the progress of the disintegration field development?" Stark abruptly changed the subject. He pointed to a square instrument on the table whose function was unclear, with colorful cables haphazardly connected to various electronic components. "That's the prototype I developed. Its function is similar to the Asgardian product, but some problems are not so easy to solve."
Stark immediately perked up when the difficulties in research and development were mentioned.
"Materials!" he said. "I didn't have good enough materials to withstand that force field. I experimented with titanium alloy, the same material I use in Iron Man armor. Titanium alloy can maintain its strength at temperatures ranging from 487.4 to 932 degrees Fahrenheit, but the results were still unsatisfactory."
"Yes, that's what the experimental records show," Jarvis chimed in. "Mr. Damonette, when will your maid arrive?"
"It will never come."
"Don't worry, Jarvis, Papa will find you a good girlfriend."
Seemingly worried that Salomon might question his claims, Stark downed his drink in one gulp, then picked up the experimental titanium plate and placed it on the heavy, square instrument. As Stark activated the instrument, blue lightning-like energy, identical to that of Asgardian powered weapons, appeared on the titanium plate.
Seeing Salomon's questioning gaze, Stark gestured for him to continue reading.
Before long, the titanium plate began to heat up, emitting pungent metallic fumes and emitting a blinding bright white and orange-red light. After Stark shut down the instrument, there were obvious signs of melting on the edges of the titanium plate.
Stark then experimented with tungsten steel, but the result was the same.
"The only viable metallic material is that Asgardian longsword you brought back, that non-earthly substance. I suspect that the longsword and its metallic properties are the same as Thor's hammer." Stark pushed aside the robot Dodger who was running over with a fire extinguisher to put out the fire, and took the longsword out from under the metal table.
The longsword has now undergone multiple rounds of testing. Although the scientific name of the metal is still unknown, this does not prevent Stark from applying it directly to his Iron Man armor after understanding its properties.
"I did cut off a portion," Stark readily admitted. He gestured to indicate that he hadn't used much. Although Stark tried his best to hide the Asgardian sword behind his back, Salomon easily saw through his lie.
"Half, at least half."
"Well, what can I do? I only melted half of the alien metal; this conductive material is just too powerful." Stark shrugged. He promised to scale down the disintegration field generator, but he couldn't solve the problem of weapon materials. Salomon waved his hand dismissively—the Centurion's Longsword used low-grade, impure Uru metal, a material plentiful on Nivida. Only refined Uru metal required the high temperatures of the Solar Furnace; ordinary Uru metal (alloys) didn't need such a powerful furnace.
He still possessed the warrant from the Allfather. Although the warrant stipulated one hundred sets of armor, it also meant he was qualified to trade with the dwarven artisans, and he wouldn't mind buying more when purchasing materials there. After all, the dwarven artisans wanted gold, and while he didn't have many dollars, he still had gold to spare.
"Have you tried vibranium before?" Salomon asked casually.
"The sample size is too small, but I think it should be feasible." Stark nodded. "I recently contacted someone who can help me get some vibranium. I don't know where you get your vibranium from, but I guarantee that person's supply will be cheaper than what you're offering."
"you mean……"
"That's right, just as you think."
