Chapter 438 Armored Thug

Chapter 438 Armored Thugs (First Update)

The android sisterhood acted very quickly, mainly because of Salomon's scroll guidance, but also because the Wakanda's aircraft had extremely good stealth capabilities. They even evaded everyone's eyes and radar, hovering their aircraft over the US Air Force base.

As the commander of this operation, Dita is responsible for breaking through the layers of US military blockade to enter the underground and retrieve the nuclear warhead that was launched during the Battle of New York. Of course, she doesn't intend to lead all her sisters in a headlong rush in. Although this is an air force base located in the continental United States, it is fully equipped with armored vehicles and other heavy armored vehicles. If she recklessly rushes into the underground, the only possible outcome is that she will be surrounded by tanks and other heavy armored vehicles within the base, at which point she will have no choice but to request Salomon's portal for support.

But she didn't want to do that, and neither did Catherine, who was following behind her—she loudly proclaimed on the aircraft that she refused her master's support because it would make her look like a failure. Sevia grinned and reached out to pinch the cheek of this "boisterous little dog." If Tita hadn't glared at her fiercely, Sevia would have really started fooling around on the aircraft.

"Don't be so serious, Tita. Did your master forget to include a sense of humor when they created you?" As a member of the commando team, Sevia wasn't worried about the mission at all. "Don't we still have Aura? Isn't that right, my shy little bird?"

As instructed by Salomon, Tita carried some heavy weapons to deal with vehicles, which were handled by a support team led by Aura, who was skilled in marksmanship. If the enemy's heavy vehicles surrounded them before they could load the airborne nuclear warhead onto the plane, then Aura would have to use the AT-12T 120mm rocket launchers to destroy the enemy tanks and helicopters, and lead the reserve team in an assault support.

Aura blushed and nodded, earnestly stating that she would definitely complete the task.

Following standard procedure, Tita's assault team eagerly checked their heavy bomb guns and longswords, magazines strapped to their metal belts, each bullet loaded by hand.

Tita ordered her squad to check the Steel Wings flight module. She donned her helmet, and at her whispered command, the power armor's servo systems activated and began checking the Steel Wings. The temperature rose where the power backpack was pressed against the armor; she felt energy flowing from the power backpack, like a throbbing, beating steel heart pumping power to every corner of the power armor. She had the illusion that the Steel Wings on her back were like her own limbs, and she could easily control each wingtip.

The cooling grates opened instantly, and a stream of blue flames with minimal thrust erupted from the steel wings. The powerful thrust nearly knocked Tita forward, but according to her training, she had already braced herself with her other leg. All the sorority members participating in this operation followed the training protocol. Although the steel wing modules only activated for a brief 0.5 seconds, the flames spewed from numerous steel wings caused the temperature inside the aircraft to rise sharply, and the ozone odor from the ionized air became increasingly unbearable.

Tita nodded, and through the communication system in her helmet, she ordered the assault team to prepare. The Sorority member in charge of controlling the vehicle opened the rear hatch of the aircraft, and a gust of wind rushed in recklessly. The red robes worn by the Sorority members under their armor were rapidly rolled up, the temperature inside the cabin plummeted, and the hot air was swept away by the cold wind, causing condensation to appear on the powered armor.

But soon, the dew that had condensed on the power armor was dried by the strong storm. Tita ran a few steps forward and then leaped down the gangway. The assault team followed Tita and jumped off the aircraft. The Steel Wing flight modules behind them spewed orange-blue flames in the air, leading them in a rapid dive toward the air force base below.

James Rhodes never imagined that Langley Air Force Base in the continental United States would be attacked, and there was no warning on the radar. He was there to observe flight training, and in his haste, he hadn't even had time to put on the MK2 War Machine armor that Tony Stark had recently upgraded.

Fortunately, the enemy's target wasn't the F-22s or F-15s parked on the tarmac. Standing in the control tower, he witnessed dozens of plumes of fire descending from the sky and crashing towards the base, like dozens of dazzling meteors. Only when the plumes were visible to the naked eye did they appear on the radar.

"Call Tony Stark and order the planes to take off and engage the enemy. They definitely have other aircraft!" He lowered his binoculars and hurriedly instructed his officers. He realized that the enemies descending from the sky weren't attacking the aircraft that hadn't yet taken off; their target was a heavily guarded special munitions depot within the base, where all the nuclear warheads were being maintained. James Rhodes immediately understood the enemy's objective. He rushed out of the control tower and loudly ordered logistics to prepare the Iron Man suits; he had to face the enemies, who were also clad in Iron Man suits.

However, before he could run far, a violent blast of air threw him to the ground, and a deafening roar filled his brain. James Rhodes staggered to his feet on the hot, rough concrete. He opened his eyes, enduring the sharp pain in his forehead. Through his blurred vision, he saw the control tower shrouded in ruins, and the familiar smell of gunpowder and concrete dust assaulted his senses.

A rocket hit the control tower precisely, paralyzing the base's flight control center. No one knew where the rocket came from; the radar detected nothing. It was as if they were fighting an unseen enemy.

"Shit! Shit! Shit!" Colonel Rhodes couldn't help but curse the enemy in his heart. Everyone, the enemy, the military, even Stark, he cursed them all. He grinned and touched his forehead, his dusty fingers only touching a sticky, wet liquid.

The blast spurted a gash on his forehead, but that was lucky; Colonel Rhodes didn't think anyone in the control tower would survive.

"Mother Fuck!" James Rhodes ran toward the special equipment warehouse.

"Ms. Tita, we are close to our goal."

"Fire!" The Sisterhood was greeted not only by deafening alarms but also by American soldiers guarding the special ammunition depot. The moment the alarm sounded, these soldiers were already prepared for defense. M2HB machine guns mounted on armored vehicles fired a rapid-fire chain of flashbang rounds at the androids in the air; even in daylight, the tracer rounds clearly indicated their targets. Following this guidance, assault rifles opened fire, but Tita had already ordered the squad to activate the Steel Wings module at full speed. The violent engines propelled the assault team straight towards the armored vehicle.

The black steel high heels crushed the incessantly firing M2HB machine gun, and the thick armored vehicle roof dented under the powerful kinetic energy. Bullets from assault rifles exploded in bursts of sparks on the force-feedback powered armor, but these normally swift reapers couldn't cause the assault team any damage; at most, they scratched the androids' armor.

"Fire!" Tita raised her heavy bomb gun in one hand and drew her longsword in the other, plunging it fiercely into the driver's compartment of the armored vehicle. She shouted the order to her team, and Catherine couldn't help but cheer loudly, raising her bomb gun to fire in bursts, advancing in sync with her team.

No one could stop them; even the pre-prepared concrete bunkers were shattered by the explosive warheads.

"Ha! For the glory of our master!" Even though she was wearing a helmet, anyone could hear the glee in Catherine's voice. The sorority members changed their magazines and continued to suppress the soldiers trying to break out of the bunker with unparalleled firepower. Any enemy hit by the explosive rounds triggered the mass fuse inside the warhead, and any enemy was easily blown in two.

"Prepare the explosives!" Tita fired a shot toward the bunker entrance, then stepped to the side of the door. This was a crucial freight elevator; they had to control the passageway.

"Roger that, ma'am!" Sevia replied with a grin, as she threw a heavy grenade down into the bottomless cargo elevator shaft, and several other sorority members did the same.

"Let the glory of our master be sung even louder!"

I was going to ask for leave, but I ended up updating anyway.
