Chapter 440 Mission Completed
Chapter 440 Mission Completed (First Update)
"Where are we at now?" Salomon asked Diana, who was talking to him via tablet, as he sat on the sofa sipping hot black tea. This was his usual style, especially since it was already three in the afternoon. Whether he had classes or not, this was afternoon tea time at Merton Academy; he was just having tea in a different place.
He brought the cup to his nose, trying to mask the stench of Darcy's vomit with the strong aroma of tea. Salomon had opened a portal when no one was looking and sent Darcy back, but Darcy, who couldn't hold her liquor, collapsed onto the sofa and fell fast asleep as soon as she got back to the apartment. She woke up once during the night and vomited without restraint.
If he hadn't summoned an invisible servant to clean the room, Jane Foster probably would have really punched and kicked Darcy when she returned. On the table in front of him was a bottle of potion that could cleanse excess alcohol from the body; the toxicity of this potion was tolerable for ordinary humans, and it would be completely metabolized within an hour.
However, he doesn't plan to give Darcy the potion right now because he doesn't want others to know what he's receiving.
"Tita has found the nuclear warhead." Diana's report was remarkably calm, showing no concern for the Sisterhood. Her confidence stemmed from Salomon's order to achieve zero casualties on their side. The Sisterhood believed that any command from the Creator would be unconditionally obeyed. Hidden deep within her was the belief that Salomon's orders were absolute truth; if he declared zero casualties for the Sisterhood, then that would be the reality.
"Christina is holding off the US reinforcements, and Aura's support team is ready to move out." Dinah reported the situation on the battlefield. She gave Salomon a detailed report of all the data on the command terminal, including the remaining energy and ammunition in the energy backpacks of each sisterhood member, as well as the location of each combatant, so that Salomon could make on-site adjustments.
Of course, he wasn't foolish enough to boss people around on the battlefield, so he overlooked the power he possessed.
"Also, there's one more thing." After a lengthy report, Diana finally told Salomon the seemingly insignificant news. "A suit of armor resembling Tony Stark has appeared on the scene. Initial speculation suggests the user is Colonel Rhodes, AKA War Machine." She said in a flat tone, as if she were commenting on an ant. "The battlefield EMP has now been deployed, and this person is under the control of the Sisterhood."
"Anything is fine as long as it doesn't cripple him; this person will still be useful in the future. Also, authorize the use of the scroll." Salomon put down his teacup and waved his finger to open the window. A light rain was falling outside, and London at afternoon tea time was shrouded in a melancholy gray veil. The damp, rain-smelling air crept into the window sill. As he waved his finger, the air in the room, along with the cheap curtains, was rolled out of the window, making the air in the living room much fresher.
Salomon didn't have a good solution for Colonel Rhodes. At this point in time, as a product of the military-Stark alliance, he could still play a valuable role in protecting the world, and as an experienced soldier, he was a rare talent.
Try your best not to let him die, but if he accidentally dies, there's nothing you can do.
Each squad leader possesses a scroll case and a potion pouch containing evocation spells copied by Salomon for battlefield use, as well as their own concocted alchemical potions. Although both are constructs, unlike the golems created by the Kabbalahs, each homunculus possesses extremely high intelligence and the ability to use scrolls—therefore, they are taught how to use scrolls by Salomon, and those who receive instruction pass this knowledge on to their sisters. Furthermore, because Salomon's copied scrolls are highly specialized, combined with the homunculus' innate alchemical talent, they can utilize magic on the battlefield.
"Drink the Triple Ring [Bulletproof Shield] potion!" In her final command before the charge, Christina gave the order to all members, then drank another bottle of special potion herself. While the soldiers in the base were still trying to communicate using communication devices, shouting orders to each other, a deafening roar drowned out all human shouts. They only felt the ground beneath their feet tremble slightly, their eardrums filled with the impending pressure.
In this inexplicable terror, a crimson behemoth, four meters long, roared and charged. Christina deliberately stepped over Colonel Rhodes, who lay motionless on the ground, and pounced straight at the soldiers hiding behind the armored vehicle. Her claws left deep scratches on the armored vehicle, and bullets could only leave fleeting sparks on her scales. The soldiers who ran out of cover were all riddled with bullets by the Sorority's slingshots.
Surprisingly, the dragon didn't tear apart the armored vehicle, nor did it pounce on the soldiers who were firing at her eyes. As she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, it seemed as if all the air around her was sucked out, but before the soldiers could react, scorching flames poured in through the armored vehicle's windows.
A strong smell of sulfur exploded in the air amidst the intense heat, and the armored vehicle's fuel tank detonated in the raging flames. A crimson dragon roared to the sky and pounced on its next target. Christina was determined to destroy all heavy vehicles, including the tank disabled by the EMP.
The [Dragon Form] potion, due to the scarcity of its ingredients, can only be equipped by a small number of people. Salomont specifically instructed all squad leaders to carry this potion for use in critical battlefield breakthroughs. However, Christina, being one of the more fanatical androids, firmly believed that only on the battlefield, with the blood of her enemies, could the glory of dominion be demonstrated.
Coke is fine too; she believes her master will gladly accept such an offering.
The sorority members who followed used grenade launchers to destroy the tires and firing ports of the vehicles. Sometimes they even captured several armored vehicles painted in desert camouflage to build fortifications. At the same time, they installed remote-controlled bombs on all the vehicles to prevent the enemy from retaking them.
Immediately afterwards, they would engage in brutal close-quarters combat. Explosive guns and vibranium longswords clashed in brutal melees, leaving no intact corpses in their wake. Blood dried by the flames and fresh blood repeatedly accumulated on the concrete ground, forming a thick, slippery, dark red, almost black lichen.
"For the glory of my Lord!" Christina, having transformed back into human form, swung her longsword, cleaving the soldiers before her in two with their pistols. She paid no heed to the blood splattered on her armor and robes; her deep red tinted glasses made her look like a demon.
"Eliminate all enemies here!" She raised her bomb gun, stepping through the thick blood dripping from the vehicle, and shot down the enemies hiding behind cover. "Everyone, cover Ms. Tina's team as they deliver the nuclear missile! Clear the landing site for the support team!" she commanded over the team radio, "Except for that Iron Man. Don't let him get up. If he resists, sever his limbs."
"Understood, Ms. Christina!"
------------
"How did I get here?" Darcy tried to stretch but rolled off the sofa. She blinked helplessly, a look of utter pain on her face. "Didn't I go to the Royal Opera House with you?" Darcy clicked her tongue. "What did I drink?"
"Potion." Salomon pointed to the empty potion bottle and a cup of hot tea on the table. According to Diana's report, all members of the Sorority had boarded the aircraft and were flying towards the Immortal City of Rome, along with the researchers responsible for maintaining the nuclear warheads.
"Have something to drink, Jane'll be back soon," Salomon said with a smile. "I'm off to pick up my girlfriend too."
