Chapter 494 I am the Hydra (Part 6)

"What else can we do?" Natasha Romanov said with a smile. "Saving twenty million lives is more important than anything else, isn't it?"

The air fell silent because Salomon did not answer the perfectly valid question.

“You see S.H.I.E.L.D. as your home, Natasha, and you want to protect it.” Salomon unusually addressed Agent Romanoff by name. “But I’m different. Hydra isn’t capable of ruling the world and causing global civilization to regress, so I don’t care at all. That’s Kamar-Taj’s consistent stance; we don’t see things from the perspective of a single nation.”

"Then why did you come? You know perfectly well that Nick Fury isn't dead."

"I'm just here for the fun, it's human nature." Salomon laughed maliciously. "Have you ever thought about this? Why won't S.H.I.E.L.D. do what you did back in your old company? At least not openly? That's because S.H.I.E.L.D. is a product of cooperation, just like the United Nations, a huge, bloated, but powerless organization. But after the Battle of New York, S.H.I.E.L.D. was unsupervised, and nobody wants an organization like that to survive."

"You mean, S.H.I.E.L.D. is doomed to destruction?" She had a feeling that Salomon's purpose was not so simple.
