Chapter 525 The Avengers with the Lowest Presence

Chapter 525 The Avenger with the Lowest Presence (Second Update)

Guiding the two AIs into a limited struggle helps Salomon maintain control; he must do so because even Wakanda cannot build a fully automated industrial system. It has been a long time since Salomon last led Wanda Maximov on a walk on the Martian surface. Where the Wakanda rover landed, a high-tech ecological module has been erected, conducting artificial mineral exploration and selecting locations for foundries.

The permission he received from the Venerable One to use the Eye of Agamotto would be used on the Martian foundry. He planned to use the Time Stone to locally accelerate time as soon as the Martian foundry was completed, speeding up the construction of the spaceship that could only be built in near-Earth orbit—this was the power of the Time Stone, a key left over from the creation of the universe. Without using the Eye of Agamotto, Salomon's imagined spaceship might take a thousand years to build, by which time it would be too late.

This also means that it is impossible for staff to remain at the Martian foundry unless volunteers are willing to stay there and reproduce.

Furthermore, human lifespan is limited, and the continuous existence of generations of humans on Mars would inevitably lead to the loss of knowledge. Therefore, Salomon would absolutely not adopt this plan unless absolutely necessary.

If the AIs could coexist peacefully, then he would have to reach another agreement with Wakanda, granting them certain rights on the spaceships. These rights were ones Salomon was unwilling to relinquish, so he had to incite conflict between the AIs to prevent one of them from completely controlling the Martian foundry.

This was undoubtedly a decision that violated the rules of Kamar-Taj, and His Holiness only agreed to Salomon's actions after hearing his entire plan. Salomon intended to become a space pirate for a period after graduating from university, plundering alien technology through interstellar travel to advance the technology of the Martian foundry, thoroughly analyzing alien technology as human technology, and avoiding leaving behind any technological black boxes. In essence, Salomon planned to do the same thing as Stark Industries, except his goal wasn't to make money, but rather to indirectly promote the technological development of human society.

"You can do whatever you want with me after I die, I don't care," the Venerable One said nonchalantly. She put on her sunglasses. "Is there anything else? I'm going to miss today's bear roasting party!"

"Teacher, can you be serious? This is a very serious matter!"

"I'm almost dead and you're telling me to be serious? Is that even fair?" The Venerable One's eyes widened. "At seventy, one can do whatever one wants without transgressing the rules. I'm a thousand years old, and I can still do whatever I want! Don't bother me while I'm finishing my bucket list! I have a 30,000-meter parachute jump scheduled for tomorrow. That old bastard Odin and Frigga want to do something exciting!"

"Fine, I'm not going to bother with you anymore!" Salomon raised his hands. He truly couldn't control the Venerable One's increasingly outrageous behavior. She could do whatever she wanted, and no one could stop her. Even if the Venerable One went out into the streets wielding the Holy Sword and chopping people down, those old guys from the mystical families would say she was doing the right thing—they were just a bunch of clueless old fogies! Kasirius was now in charge of Odin's life, and only Mordo was somewhat reliable—but judging from the Venerable One's recent arranging blind dates with American sweethearts for him, Mordo wouldn't last much longer either.

Mordo, hang in there! Don't get tempted by those American sweethearts!

Natasha Romanoff's claim that Salomon is a nerd is well-founded. According to S.H.I.E.L.D. files, Salomon has never been to any place where drugs or addictive substances might be present. Even when he goes to bars, it's to country pubs and old-fashioned English pubs, where they play either classical or jazz music, and there's nothing fast-paced.

In other words, Salomon has never been to a nightclub.

Everyone knows about this now; after all, S.H.I.E.L.D. also has the authority to monitor citizens. When Agent Romanoff chose to put that part of the data on the internet, Salomon's incredibly routine life came to light. Seeing the mocking message from Stark, Salomon knew that Agent Maria Hill hadn't told him the truth about Colonel Rhodes' injury.

He didn't feel guilty; he was just angry.

They have a liaison team that communicates using software developed by S.H.I.E.L.D., and all information is kept highly confidential.

Stark said Salomon had never experienced the baptism of a high school cheerleading squad, and only Steve Rogers praised Salomon's good habits: loyalty, composure, and detachment. "Old-schoolers only agree with old-schoolers," Stark said, quite recklessly. "I doubt wizards still use phonographs and fireplaces. I remember you did too, Rogers!"

Poor Steve Rogers doesn't know how to use a smartphone and can't refute it quickly enough.

During the Coolidge Prosperity of the 1920s, Americans no longer needed fireplaces. However, Steve Rogers at that time was just a skinny kid in Brooklyn, experiencing the Great Depression without firsthand the hardships of affluent life. His life and Stark's were like parallel lines; Stark couldn't comprehend the poverty of that era or the resilience of the lower classes. Stark couldn't imagine how one could survive selling newspapers on the street. But this was Steve Rogers' life before participating in the experiments, and this impoverished situation allowed him to understand the thoughts of ordinary people.

Stark simply couldn't do that. If Stark didn't have that talent and money, he'd be a boring, obnoxious jerk.

Of course, he's much better now; he's become a caring and considerate person.

Fortunately, Agent Maria Hill resolved the minor argument between the two, though Natasha Romanoff privately expressed her concerns to Salomon. Now that S.H.I.E.L.D. has disbanded, the Avengers have lost their official endorsement and have transformed from an emergency response team into a disorganized collection of oddballs, inevitably facing government repercussions.

"That's for sure. No normal person would allow a powerful armed group to operate outside the system," Salomon said. "But the biggest question now is, what role will the Avengers play, won't it? A group that upholds justice, or a blade in the hands of politicians?"

"Is this also part of your social science research?"

Salomon can still smell the sunscreen on her.

"That's obvious, darling," he said. "The conflict will inevitably erupt one day. What do you plan to do then?"

“I don’t know.” She shrugged. Facing Salomon’s skeptical gaze, she repeated, “I really don’t know,” she said. “For me, the Avengers are the first time so many like-minded people have come together. You know my past, and you know what this means to me.”

"A fireplace, roast chicken, and wool socks?"

“That’s right.” Romanov took a deep breath. “I want to take you to see someone. He’s one of the few sane people in the Avengers right now.”

"Who?"

"Haven't you noticed? Clint hasn't shown up for so long!" Natasha looked at him in surprise. "Or do you only know Hawkeye and not Clint?"

"Well..."

"I'll tell him this joke," Agent Romanov chuckled, patting him on the shoulder. "He's been unhappy for a long time about toys that don't have his own image on the streets. Nobody knows who he is, and Hawkeye-themed T-shirts are the lowest-selling items on Amazon."

"And what about me?"

"Just as good as Thor's. Your design is a sword, Thor's is a hammer," she said. "You're so mysterious, it makes a lot of people want to know who you are. You have no idea how many fans you have."

"Oh my god!"

Please vote for me!

I'm going to breastfeed now, I'll talk to you tomorrow!
