Chapter 543 Cyber Technology
Chapter 543 Cyber Technology (Second Update)
"What are you looking at?" Bayonetta's long, slender, white arms encircled Salomon's neck. The sorcerer could feel the witch's warm, moist breath pattering against his neck. The delicate gold chains on the leather armbands connected the two pieces of black gauze from her nightgowns, like black wings enveloping Salomon. "It's just a report." Salomon turned his head and kissed the witch's lips; the familiar scent completely relaxed him.
"Agent Hand went on his mission with my rage in his veins."
"Is it about that?" Bayonetta recalled Salomon's unusual emotional outburst. That day, Salomon had just returned home from class and opened the game, only to find his teammates weren't online. He immediately made several calls, but no one answered. That day, Salomon didn't open the game; instead, he slunk to his bed, listlessly accepting the witch's caresses like a wounded puppy. He couldn't believe he had failed; he wasn't omnipotent, he couldn't save everyone. He acknowledged his failure, then felt remorse, followed by reflection, and finally, helplessness and acceptance.
No matter how powerful he was, he couldn't save every mortal's life. From childhood, every Kamar-Taj sorcerer had told him that any flaw in the mind could lead to corruption. He constantly reminded himself of this and reflected on his actions.
"Did she succeed?" Bayonetta wasn't interested in the report at all; she only spoke because she could sense Salomon's frustration.
"Let's wait and see."
------------
"Cybertech." Agent Coulson wrote the name on a whiteboard. Around that name were all the troubles Coulson's team had encountered so far.
Agent Coulson linked Cybertronian technology to the Death Warrior. "Cybertronian technology created the Death Warrior and then handed it to Quinn." Skye nodded, vividly remembering her first mission. "Quinn works for Clairvoyance, and Clairvoyance is Garrett. Garrett planted Grant Ward on the Airbus because he wanted to know how I came back to life."
Agent Hand rolled his eyes. "Our resurrection process is not the same thing. The focus is on John Garrett."
"It was Garrett who led the development of the Centipede Serum all along." Fitz quickly recovered from the shadow of Grant Ward's betrayal. It wasn't easy, because Grant Ward had truly saved his and Simmons's lives. At first, he couldn't believe it was true, but the person hurt even more deeply was Skye, the rookie hacker Agent Victoria Hand had always looked down on—she had just established a relationship with Agent Ward, only to discover his betrayal. It was as unfortunate as the immediate collapse of S.H.I.E.L.D. after she first became a full-fledged S.H.I.E.L.D. agent.
She was the one who most wanted to catch Grant Ward.
"So he needs GH352 as the final ingredient to stabilize the centipede warrior and give it regenerative abilities."
"That's why Ward needs the hard drive; it contains all the research data on Coulson and Skye. So far, they are the only two patients who have clearly used GH325." Melinda May looked at Victoria Hand. She was the only non-S.H.I.E.L.D. agent present. She used to be, but she has a different boss now, but that doesn't stop her from continuing to fight for human safety, which is why Salomon recruited her.
"That's not all, Skye also had a little surprise for them." Agent Coulson was referring to Grant Ward's kidnapping of Skye, forcing her to crack the hard drive. Grant Ward had taken Skye to the air command center, and without Agent Coulson's rescue, she wouldn't have been able to escape—Agent Hand was referring to that, because Agent Coulson's escape route was to descend from the sky in that flying car. If Agent Hand hadn't requested artificial intelligence assistance, Agent Coulson's conspicuous actions would certainly have been recognized and he would have been hunted down.
"The Trojan virus is highly contagious," Skye said. "We're now slowly investigating every system where they uploaded the hard drive data."
"sharp!"
"Troy virus! You can awaken it and then take over the system!"
"Well done, Skye!"
The female hacker accepted the science team's praise with a smug look. "But there's still a small problem." She pulled out a USB drive, "Because I didn't have time to create the complete virus, we have to plug this into one of their computers to activate it. Spoiler alert: we can't find their computer."
"Cybertech," Melinda May said. "Garret has been working with Cybertech for years. If the data is on Garrett's computer, it must have been uploaded to Cybertech's system as well. So we need to infiltrate their offices."
"We do not have the authority to carry out this operation," Agent Coulson said.
“I have it.” Agent Hand, arms crossed, waved one hand lazily. “What’s so surprising about that?” she said. “Hydra can infiltrate S.H.I.E.L.D. and rise again, and I can infiltrate the Black Team in Congress. As long as there’s evidence linking CyberTech to Hydra, or even S.H.I.E.L.D., I can send a strike team into CyberTech and take everything I need.”
This was a huge surprise; Agent Coulson looked as if he'd been hit right on the head by a giant pie falling from the sky. "You didn't tell me about this?" Agent Coulson looked at Agent Hand. He asked, "How did you do that?"
"My new boss has saved many loyal S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. They should have perished in the Hydra rebellion, but he saved many instead. Now, I have a group of former S.H.I.E.L.D. agents working for him. You don't need to worry about his motives; he has a deal with Nick Fury, which is why Agent Hill contacted me," Agent Hand said in a deep voice. "He showed me a much larger world. The old S.H.I.E.L.D. was just operating within a small circle, and the most dangerous targets could be dealt with with ordinary bullets. The future is different. This world faces more threats, and Salomon Damonette has chosen to unite all forces that can be united to fight against the rising dark forces in the universe."
"Is he...?" Fitz drawled, initially wanting to suggest that Salomon had gotten carried away with video games, suddenly conjuring up the idea of saving the world. However, Agent Hand's cold gaze made him swallow his words. Remembering Salomon's past behavior, he decided it was best to remain silent; his scientific beliefs clashed with Salomon's magic.
"I'll help you get the Airbus back, Coulson," Agent Hand said. "Get this over with quickly; I have other Hydra agents to hunt down."
"I heard your new boss got the three Sky Carriers from Project Insight?"
"What do you think would happen if an aircraft carrier appeared in Los Angeles, Agent May?" Agent Hand rolled her eyes. "An operation I lead must follow my orders," she said. "I don't care about casualties. My objective is to eliminate Hydra. Nothing else."
"I think your mental state needs consideration, Agent Hand. Are you harboring anger towards Grant Ward because of his shooting?"
Agent Hand glanced at Simmons, and the tense atmosphere in the room seemed to take on a cold form, sending chills down Fitz's spine.
