Chapter 552 Space Pirates

Chapter 552 Space Pirates (First Update)

The Avengers are currently united, but this is only temporary. Natasha Romanoff knows all too well what kind of flies the oozing blood from their wounds will attract. Countless people are hoping for their downfall, to devour their corpses. Even Stark is beginning to struggle with various business rivals, including the Koch brothers. The Koch family are fervent supporters of Nazi Germany, especially the first Koch, Frederick Koch, who did business with the Third Reich. This family is also one of the Republican Party's biggest financial backers.

With the help of Agent Hill, Steve Rogers delves deep into Hydra's secrets, even reaching the renowned FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover—a legendary figure who was a staunch Nazi supporter before Roosevelt took office. Although Captain Rogers' target is the Winter Soldier program, he doesn't shy away from any Hydra leads he finds during the investigation.

Agent Romanov never expected the Avengers to wipe out all Hydra, because they were operating within enemy territory. The entire United States was arguably the largest Hydra base since the Third Reich, and the Avengers' stance of a fight to the death with Hydra was bound to offend many.

Those people don't want to be labeled as Hydra right now. Whether it's Hydra or not isn't important; what matters is whether their competitors think so. In this situation, they can't accuse the Avengers or Captain America of being Hydra. But once the storm passes and politicians have more time, they'll naturally come up with a different narrative.

Whether anyone believes it or not is irrelevant; the majority are foolish, and years of "happy education" will make voters submit to any ideology. In fact, some politicians have already begun opposing the Avengers, which is indeed a good election slogan—more exciting and easier to gain support than gun legalization or gun control legalization. However, they jumped in too early, were directly accused of being Hydra by their political opponents, and were forced to withdraw from the election due to their inability to prove their innocence, suffering a crushing defeat on the political battlefield.

Nobody is Hydra, yet everyone is Hydra. Agent Romanov was utterly disillusioned with the entire system.

Rather than hunting Hydra, she preferred to steer the Avengers towards other matters. Salomon's sudden departure made her suspect there were untold stories, and she believed that if it were something she knew, Salomon would certainly not hesitate to share the information. Partly due to Nick Fury's urging, and partly due to her own curiosity, Stephanie refused to reveal most of the information. She only told Agent Romanoff that Salomon was not on Earth, and refused to say anything more.

Even though Stephanie didn't want to receive the Romanov agents, she still gave Natasha something as instructed by Salomon. It was a gift, a product of the Immortal City's weapon technology, accompanied by a note handwritten by Salomon. Theoretically, it used a strong magnetic field to confine the ultra-high-temperature plasma generated by nuclear fusion, then guided a portion of the plasma stream to a launch channel via an accelerator before being fired. The brief, stellar heat was enough to melt any enemy. This equipment was a gift from Salomon to Natasha, considering the Romanov agents' lack of combat capability; Princess Shuri had already resolved the stability issue. As long as it wasn't fired continuously, it wouldn't produce too much ionizing radiation or explode.

The reason why the principle is described as "theoretical" is because this pistol contains some secret technologies that Salomon is unwilling to reveal.

Due to increased external production capacity, much of the Immortal City's industry has begun to relocate, and the Sisterhood has secretly begun equipping itself with different models of this weapon produced elsewhere. Simultaneously, this technology is also being applied to armored vehicles. The Wakanda are completely unaware of the true purpose of developing this technology, including Princess Shuri, the lead researcher, because Wakanda's main focus is on the vibranium mines in Antarctica, and they haven't considered the Immortal City a primary target. They are completely unaware that Salomon has his eye on the massive electromagnetic barrier capable of covering Wakanda's capital, firmly believing that this technology can effectively counter the shield protecting the city.

The Immortal City is like a trap, waiting for T'Chaka to step into it.

Victoria Hand naturally received news about Salomon. Although the Immortal City used a classified secrecy system, with the increase in clearance, Hand's agents also learned many secrets that were previously unknown, including Salomon's approximate location. Of course, such secrets were irrelevant to most people, because Salomon's current location was, in the eyes of others, like a dark star in the universe, or a legend from a distant land.

They certainly had no idea what Salomon would bring back.

Merlin walked over, scrutinized Salomon, then shook his head with disdain before turning and returning to his cabin. He simply couldn't appreciate the beauty of robots. They were nothing more than composites of biomimetic materials, chips, energy pipelines, and shape-memory alloys; even their alluring appearance was a product of meticulous design. They were merely shells of biomimetic materials; even if they resembled humans enough, they were ultimately not living beings, worlds apart from the youthful energy emanating from the girl.

This is undoubtedly a decline in aesthetics!

Even Dave couldn't understand why Salomon would order his crew to load the casino's mechanical prostitutes onto the ship and then personally dismantle them. When he awoke, he found the smuggling ship deserted except for him and Merlin. The empty ship was completely silent, as if dead—the crew, incited by Salomon, had become space pirates. When the casino's customs officials came to unload the cargo, Salomon killed the first alien with a bomb gun, and then he became the true leader of this bloodthirsty pirate gang. He didn't want money; he only wanted technology—all technology, from food production to weaponry, everything related to it was loaded onto the ship. The mechanical prostitutes were merely the most insignificant part.

Salomon had complete control of the ship, directing it to the coordinates Merlin had given them, with armed merchant ships trailing behind. It was the edge of the galaxy, a place rarely traversed by shipping routes, but in the eyes of the crew, whose minds were consumed by the prospect of riches, Salomon was a powerful warrior capable of taking down a casino tycoon—this ship had been stationed in this industrial world for a long time, and even the Kree first mate, who had always followed Salomon, couldn't count how many people he had killed. The first mate only remembered that they had practically looted every casino in the port, killed all the security personnel, and robbed all the customers.

Following such a ruthless person will definitely make money, and no one has any objections.

"We face the next war, friends." Salomon sat in the captain's seat, his crimson robes stained with alien blood. His voice boomed, seemingly vibrating the nerves beneath his skin, as if his will was being continuously infused into the bodies of every crew member. His newly recruited crew included the port's thugs, these outlaws now bowing before his throne. "Ults...Ultsx, whatever, call him whatever." He tapped his fingers on the hilt of his longsword. Salomon knew this rabble couldn't fight any high-intensity war; they were just a bunch of cowards who preyed on the weak. Salomon said expressionlessly, "That fat sheep has come to us with something. We're going to win this battle. First mate, any objections?"

"No!" The Kree first mate quickly shook his head, forcing a smile that revealed a mouthful of rotten teeth. "The brothers just want to make money, not cause trouble."

"No trouble, no windfall, First Mate," Salomon scoffed. "Our ship isn't heavily armed. You all get some rest, take your medication, and prepare for boarding action. I'll lead you bunch of lowlife bastards to even greater victories!"
