Chapter 576 Surveillance

Chapter 576 Surveillance (First Update)

He gently kissed the witch's long, graceful neck, and her strong, lithe legs coiled around his waist like powerful pythons. The black-haired witch, her eyes closed, emitted a long, nasal sound. She curled her lips, secretly opened her eyes, and left a warm lip print on the sorcerer's lips. Every part of her body intoxicated Salomon; the passion that could melt iron and gold almost burned him, yet he thoroughly enjoyed the feeling. They still had hundreds of years to enjoy their love. But as Shelley had said, this kind of love left one breathless, delirious, and utterly exhausted—Shelley's words were quite apt, but perhaps Phoenix had a better description, yet Salomon was not so impolite as to casually peruse his poetry collection. The publication of that collection was fraught with difficulties because Phoenix had no identification and could not grant interviews.

"Anything else, little one?" she said slowly. "What else have you learned?"

"How life, these sacred beings, were created."

"Aren't we doing just that?" The witch's serpentine waist arched, her thick, dark hair piling up around the sorcerer's ears. The thin silk quilt undulated and slipped with the graceful curves of her body; no matter how many times, the sight took Salomon's breath away. She wrapped her arms around his neck, her pale gray eyes clouding with a mist that seemed ready to vanish in the next instant. "Or perhaps you want to practice a few more times? I think Jeanne is itching to get back to work!"

"She really does shoot! And she even threw a Cheshire Cat at me!"

"Forgive her. She's been very agitated ever since you came back." The witch stroked Salomon's chin. She was very satisfied with Salomon's growth. From a boy who was only as tall as her chest to a man taller than her, all the changes had happened before her eyes, and now she could even sit on Salomon's lap. A cute big boy, this was the benefit of raising a child, Bayonetta was satisfied with her years of training.

"It seems the time warp hasn't affected you much, dear. You've hardly changed at all since you shaved your beard."

"That means we have a long life ahead of us, darling," Salomon said, kissing her again eagerly. "But I don't want to waste a single second."

"Mmm, you're so sweet!"

------------

"Sorry to have you drive me to class." Salomon rummaged around in the passenger seat for a while before finally finding the rubber band in Stephanie's handbag. Stephanie was in London representing her father for an international conference, so Salomon didn't need to drive this time. A day with the witch wasn't enough, so he also wanted to take this opportunity to hear the work briefings he'd missed over the past few days. He tied up his thick, long, black curly hair, shook his head, and let out a relieved sigh. "I've been gone a bit too long this time; the professors must be going crazy," he said with a laugh. "I must have missed a lot of papers; they're definitely impatient."

"You don't smell like you just came from an apartment, my lord." Stephanie leaned closer and sniffed. She turned on the air conditioning, stepped on the gas, and let the silver sports car speed along Highway 40 in the early morning. Even after a night of work and endless, annoying negotiations, her mental state was surprisingly good. This was one of the changes she had undergone while working for Salomon; some of her talents were slowly being discovered, allowing her to take on more demanding tasks.

"It smells like incense, but I'm not a member of the alchemy lab, so I can't tell what the spices are."

"I got up early, so I went to Kamar-Taj," Salomon said, raising an eyebrow. He had reported to Kamar-Taj the previous night, and although the Sorcerer Supreme had complained that Salomon hadn't returned to Kamar-Taj immediately, the Sorcerer Supreme patiently listened to Salomon's conversation with the Earth Mother. Whatever the Earth Mother's intentions, the only certainty was that she stood with humanity, supporting their struggle for cosmic dominance. Where Kamar-Taj would stand if the Earth Mother changed her allegiance was a question that didn't need to be explicitly stated—Karmar-Taj's mission was to uphold human principles, not the Vishanti or any other deity. If those deities no longer supported humanity, Salomon was willing to sever all ties with them, including the Vishanti—of the Trinity of Vishanti, only Agamotto, who had once been human, cared about the race; Oshutu and Hogos had no interest whatsoever.

Therefore, Salomon revealed to the Venerable a plan that would make every magical entity in the universe want to kill him. This plan was conceived after his communication with the Earth Mother, as a final measure after their rift. If this plan were to be leaked, every magical entity, every god, every demon, and every devil would stop at nothing to kill Salomon. The ultimate goal of this plan is to annihilate all magical entities, to bring about their complete annihilation. The key to this plan lies with Lorelei, the daughter of the Rhine; Salomon needs her to obtain crucial knowledge of this plan.

He did not explain to the Venerable One the process of his creation, as it was irrelevant to him, as if the fact that such a thing would cause a mental breakdown in someone else was less noticeable to him than the dust on his shoes.

"I can't imagine what kind of place that would be," Stephanie shrugged. "Like Hogwarts?"

"Believe me, Kamar-Taj is far more magical than Hogwarts, and wandering around there can be deadly. For example, there are two-headed snakes that will talk to you, and plants that can snap a passerby's throat when you're not looking. There are death quotas for apprentices at Kamar-Taj; it's not a school for minors to spend seven years of their studies in peace."

“Sounds good, at least better than seeing Dita Von Teese’s striptease.” Stephanie casually pulled a fragrant invitation from the glove compartment. “As the de facto ruler of the Hydra conservatives, you’re on the invitation list, my lord. Or perhaps it’s because my father is too old.” She glanced at the exquisite invitation. “Looks like someone wants to use the title of the world’s most beautiful and sexiest vintage woman to have a conversation with you.”

"The invitation says there will be champagne! I like champagne." Salomon stroked his chin. "Perhaps it's Dr. Whitehall's taste."

"It's reasonable to assume that only he would know about the changes within the conservatives. Baron Wolfgang von Strucker is still engrossed in his experiments, having become a rat after Alexander Pierce's capture. Dr. Lister is even more focused on his experiments; he probably still doesn't know what's wrong with the conservatives." Stephanie looked ahead. "Why not kill him now? I mean, Dr. Whitehall."

“Patience, Stephanie.” Salomon shook his head. “I need Dr. Whitehall’s knowledge. It’s better for him to be alive until we figure out where his research is hidden. Anyway, he can’t do much harm to us. Decipher the Kree’s data storage devices as soon as possible. We need to figure out why Terrigen managed to activate the Celestials’ genetic engineering results, and the Progenitors’ genetic code hidden in the Kree corpses. The Progenitors have considerable research potential as an intermediary between the Celestials and the Kree. Once we make progress, I can hang that old Nazi with my little finger.”

"What about the Inhumans?"

"Those Neanderthal, Homo sapiens, and Kree hybrids? No need to worry about them. Isn't that girl named Skye quite well-behaved?"
