Marvel Magic Case Files
Chapter 587 Soul Transformation Curse
Chapter 587 Soul Transformation Spell (Second Update)
Even while still slumbering, the golden-armored warrior was protecting a thick stack of parchment. Salomon, without breaking the technological spell, used magic to retrieve the parchment. He glanced at it and discovered coordinates written on it. These coordinates weren't in the real world; they were a fragment of a plane, pointing to a hidden location within the endless misty sea of the Aetherial Dimension. The coordinates were also a spell; if Salomon spent the time following the instructions on the parchment, he could find that place.
This is the greatest secret that Jacob has guarded for a thousand years.
The coordinates of an inner plane, and a golden-armored angel.
Salomon could hear the warrior's soul calling, as if if he simply reached out, the giant before him would awaken and be thrown back into battle. This was a connection at the soul level; the warrior possessed some of his powers, certain unique genetic fragments. The bio-lab's gene-alchemy experiments were based on him, using fragments of his genes to recreate the process by which the Earth Mother created him. However, this process involved no dark gods from another universe; it was purely scientific. The bio-lab was now dedicated to endowing them with the power to permanently resist darkness. Faced with an extremely dangerous universe, such combat power was absolutely necessary. They would be the sword that spreads truth and hope to humanity, the shield against demons and monsters. They would learn any knowledge and art they could learn; every member of the Royal Guard would be a perfect warrior.
Salomon now believes that the reason he subconsciously conducted this experiment in the past was because his future self gave his past self a hint. His future self knew his true nature as a weapon created by a god before he did. In terms of personality, Salomon, Atum, and Oshutu, all creations of the Earth Mother Goddess, are second-generation ancient gods.
This is his self-description, just like the Holy Sword. However, the Venerable One considers him human, and this identity, coupled with years of education upholding humanity, is why Salomon insists he belongs to the human race. Undeniably, his genes contain unparalleled power enough to transform an ordinary person into a powerful demigod, like Hercules in mythology. With various equipment and meticulously modified genetic engineering, the Golden Armored Guard might possess combat power even greater than Hercules'.
"It's over." Salomon extended his left hand, and a golden longsword appeared out of thin air in his right, its dazzling light dispelling all darkness. Jacob knelt on one knee and kissed Salomon's iron-gray pentagram pinky ring. Catherine, Laura Crawford, and Sophia were all witnesses to the ceremony, though their reactions differed.
"Your mission is complete, Jacob, and your faithfulness will be celebrated for generations to come."
"This is the highest praise for me, my emperor. But I am not as good as you say." The immortal prophet Jacob winked mischievously and nodded to Sophia, who was crying beside him. "Don't be sad, my daughter, I can finally find peace."
"Stories will always be embellished, your deeds will not be forgotten, and your name will be engraved on my armor." Salomon placed his longsword on Jacob's shoulder. "Farewell, my old, unfamiliar friend."
"Farewell, my great emperor, until we meet again in the future."
Sophia led a portion of her people to settle in the Immortal City, where they would become its army, directly under Salomon. This was Jacob's dying wish, and Sophia, however unwilling, had to obey. She promised to provide her people with the scientific education of the Immortal City, but whether they renounced their faith was a personal matter, and she had no authority over it.
Another group of tribesmen worked with the construction teams that moved into the Lost City.
Those tribesmen who learned of Jacob's death insisted on remaining in Siberia, determined to forever protect the city of Kit, Jacob's masterpiece. Their resolve was unwavering; no matter how Sophia tried to persuade them, they refused to follow her to the Immortal City. The arcane mage planned to transform this place into another base for the Immortal City's rapid reaction forces to carry out missions in the European theater. Therefore, Salomon spared no expense in establishing a permanent portal between Kit and the Immortal City for communication between the two.
Maya Hansen was overjoyed when she received the dying Golden Armored Guard.
In the biological lab, many projects were proceeding cautiously, such as specialized transplanted organs and enhanced glands, as well as gene-guided muscle development patterns. Progress was slow, resulting in numerous scrapped proposals and forced halts to many experiments. Now, with a template in place, the entire large-scale project had a clear direction, and Maya Hansen believed she could create genetically modified warriors even better and more powerful than those in this body.
However, she did not immediately perform the dissection and experiment.
The location where the Divine Source is now stored is quite special. Several machine gun turrets surround a massive safe that is a full 5 inches thick, and a vast amount of runes envelop both the safe and the Divine Source, ensuring that any resurrected undead soldiers will be instantly annihilated. However, this protective measure has also weakened the mysterious pact connecting the golden-armored warrior and the Philosopher's Stone; even the magical medical bed cannot prevent the golden-armored warrior's condition from deteriorating.
Initially, Salomon planned to revive the golden-armored warrior and then use technology to recreate the entire genetic modification process. Because of the connection between the warrior's soul and himself, he believed he could learn about the future from the warrior. However, Maya Hansen, after understanding the situation, directly rejected this idea.
“You know what the consequences will be, Salomon.” Maya Hansen remained remarkably calm, as if the scalpel in her hand didn’t exist. “His purpose is to be here; it’s the will of Heaven. I’m sure you understand what that means,” she said. “We will find his future self and train him into a genetically modified warrior. But this is his mission: to provide us with the data and technology we have now.”
Salomon remained silent for a moment, then finally nodded in agreement.
"Keep the armor." He sighed deeply.
The deaths of two important figures in one day made him uneasy. Both Jacob, who had completed his thousand-year mission, and the royal guard, their deaths deeply disturbed him. However, he didn't show much emotion. He wasn't yet accustomed to separation and death, but he would eventually.
"I will have Su Rui repair the armor, and his weapons will be carefully maintained." He glanced at the golden-armored warrior who had been sent into the research lab. "When we meet again, we will give him the armor and weapons, and he will complete his mission."
"If our project succeeds, their loyalty will be reflected at the genetic level. I'm sure he would be absolutely willing to sacrifice because he would know how valuable his life is. I always feel that our research is on the right track, and now it's time to fill in the gaps."
"All information is classified at the highest level of security, with physical barriers to information intrusion."
"I see."
Before the surgery began, Salomon took out an extremely thick grimoire and sat beside the high-tech medical bed, beginning to chant an extremely lengthy incantation. This spell required a full twenty-four hours of uninterrupted practice, and only a very few spellcasters could complete it. The added spell resistance attached to the soul level made the entire process even more difficult. But this was no problem for Salomon—he would directly cast the spell on the soul of the golden-armored guard, replacing the spell "Vishanti's Devout Guard" with the guard's soul and granting it more functions and uses. Simply put, the guard's soul would become his personal messenger, capable of combat, communication, and other tasks. As long as the spell used was complex enough, the guard could function as if he were still alive.
Even if he is unwilling to acknowledge his identity, it will not prevent him from acting with divine power.
Salomon sees it more as a convenience, a stepping stone for future grand plans.
